Recap:
At the Scott’s, someone is finally back home: Deb, better known as Dan’s wife and Nathan’s mother. Unfortunately family dinner has to wait because the Ravens will start playing in a few minutes. Lucas is definitely the best player and Nathan looks unhappy about this, also because he feels his father is really disappointed in him. Yep, Dan’s glare doesn’t forgive. Later, something surprising happens: Nathan invites Lucas to his party at his parents’ beach house.
Party time. Haley tries to make peace between Scott brothers but Lucas doesn’t seem that enthusiastic: Haley and Lucas end up arguing until the girl gets out of the house. Nathan humiliates Lucas by showing an old video where Karen and Dan were together to the prom and Karen was innocently talking about a future marriage. Lucas storms off definitely upset. So is Peyton, who can’t believe Nathan is actually acting in such a mean way. Anyway, Nathan catches up with Haley and, since Lucas has already left, he claims he wants to drive her home. Thanks to Peyton’s car, of course. During the ride, Nathan begs Haley to keep on tutoring him because he really needs some help, and Haley ends up accepting.
Elsewhere someone is arguing: Deb points out Dan left her out of Nathan’s life, Dan replies that her long work trips might represent an obstacle as well. In the meantime, while Nathan is driving back home, he damages Peyton’s car by hitting another car and a tree. As soon as Lucas shows up, Nate dumps the problem on him. Lucas brings Peyton’s car to Keith’s body shop. Turns out does want to fix it, even though Keith seems pretty worried about the whole situation. Meanwhile, Deb enters Karen’s café. After an awkward moment, Deb tells Karen she did a wonderful job raising Lucas and she would love to have the same nice relationship with Nathan.
However, someone else is eager to talk to Karen. Lucas, who is willing to know why Karen has never asked Dan what they were entitled to.The next day Karen explains to Lucas she has never asked anything to Dan because she did not want him to be part of their life. They eventually make up.
When Peyton finds out Nathan’s last clever action, she breaks up with him. “It’s not about the car, it’s about you”. It turns out Peyton finally realized the way he has been treating her lately. It’s never too late. Meanwhile, Lucas catches up with Haley and she assures him she’ll always be honest with him. After that he pulls out the green hat she forgot in Peyton’s car, when Nathan gave her a ride. Long glance between them, the music in the background is playing “Didn’t say I’m sorry” and Lucas walks away.
