After his near-death experience, Lucas decides he made the wrong choice between Brooke and Peyton so he breaks things off with Brooke and secretly rekindles his romance with Peyton. However, the truth becomes obvious after he is rushed to the emergency room again and the girls come face to face in the hospital. Meanwhile, unable to pay his mortgage after paying Lucas’ hospital bill, Keith puts his garage up for sale.
Recap:
It turns out that Lucas made up his mind: he wants to be with Peyton. That’s why he breaks up with Brooke, claiming he needs space. Brooke looks distraught. When Lucas lets Peyton know the news, she seems happy but then, it’s clear she can’t stop thinking about her BFF. After all, we all know Peyton is a T.A. – tortured artist.
The Scott’s legal battle is getting worse. Deb wants Nathan to stay with her but Dan’s point of view is slightly different. Nathan feels uneasy, because he doesn’t know what it’s better, but Deb assures him their life will be different without Dan. As soon as Nathan decides he’s going to stay with Deb, Dan lets him know something: he should move into their beach house, if he doesn’t want everyone to learn some torrid secrets from his mother’s past. When Deb confesses that there might be some secrets in her past she doesn’t want to be revealed, Nathan gives in and drives away with his father.
Lucas’ hospital bill was astronomical and Keith needs money for his shop. Unfortunately, the bank can’t help him out, so he’s going to have to sell his shop. On the other hand, Karen assures him she will pay him back but she clearly has not forgiven him yet.
Jake starts working for Karen’s Cafè but he is concerned about his little daughter Jenny. Karen helps him out since “I wasn’t much older than you when I had Lucas. I know how hard it is to ask for help. But sometimes it’s okay to have someone give you a hand.”
Times of decisions. Peyton tells Lucas she can’t betray Brooke this way. Unfortunately, Brooke lets her know that thanks to Peyton’s webcam, she saw her and Lucas together. “I don’t know what hurts worse, you and Lucas sneaking around behind my back or you lying about it to my face.” Brooke walks away, leaving a really upset Peyton.
