Episode 2.07 Let the Reigns Go Loose

Overview:

The opening of Karen’s club “TRIC” brings together the people of Tree Hill. Lucas and Felix come to blows over Anna. After Chris quits his gig the night of the club opening, Haley must face her fear of performing to save the night for Peyton. Although Mouth tends to Brooke while she is drunk, Felix sneaks in and attempts to take the credit. Keith and Jules realize their relationship has reached a new level, while Dan deliberately tells Karen that Deb slept with Keith.

Recap:

The opening of Karen’s club “Tric” is approaching and everyone in Tree Hill is getting ready for it. Peyton asks Chris to sing and he kind of accepts, pointing out she has to satisfy his long list of ‘artistic’ demands. Unknown fruit, first of all.

Major problem for Brooke. She has to buy a new dress but she has no money. Yep, it turns out it’s discount time, although Brooke isn’t exactly eager.
Elsewhere, Anna tells Lucas she doesn’t want to run into a new relationship since it’s too soon but she wants to keep hanging out with him. Lucas asks her if they’re just friends. “With potential” is Anna’s reply.

Dan enters Karen’s Cafè and he apologizes to Karen for abandoning her. As soon as Karen makes clear she doesn’t believe his unforeseen redemption, Dan blurts out Keith and Deb slept together.

While Keith invited Jules to go with him to the opening of Karen’s club, Andy catches up with Karen. He has a present for “little” Lucas, who he thinks to be around six years old, since Karen has never told him she had a baby when she was very young.

The opening night can get started. As soon as Haley sees how many people are coming, she is afraid of singing and chickens out. It seems Chris will sing alone. At the same time Brooke is drinking way too much and her mood gets worse when she finds out Felix is going out with Theresa, even though she has always been telling Felix that they’re only friends with “benefits”. No romance involved.

Keith introduces his new girlfriend, Julia, to Deb, who seems glad he has finally found someone special. In the meantime, Andy finds out “little” Lucas isn’t exactly six. Andy tells Karen she should have told him the truth about Lucas’ age. Karen points out that maybe he is too young for her, but Andy does have another opinion. They end up kissing.

Since people aren’t paying attention, Chris stops singing and quits his gig. At last Haley decides to face her fears and sings on the stage. She is terrific and everyone applauds her.

After seeing Lucas and his sister Anna dancing together, Felix orders Lucas to stay away from her. They end up getting into a fight and Karen is really angry about it. Anna has a different opinion, of course. “Thanks for punching Felix. I’ve been wanting to do that for years”.

Mouth gets home a completely wasted Brooke. When Mouth is about to leave, Felix shows up as he is worried about Brooke too. Felix figures out Mouth fell for the girl. Mouth tells Felix he likes Brooke but he knows that girls like Brooke are not interested in boys like him. Besides Mouth adds that boys like him – Felix – don’t appreciate what they have; that’s why Mouth advises Felix to treat Brooke well, because she deserves it. Then he walks away. When Brooke wakes up, Felix is still there and she thinks Felix helped her out.

Back at Tric, Karen asks Deb if she slept with Keith, as Dan told her. Deb is stunned and she denies it.

It’s 2,30 in the morning and Haley is at Tric. She is helping Peyton lock up the club. Only Rick and some friends are still there and they’re doing cocaine. When Haley and Peyton find them, Rick reassures his friends, telling them Peyton isn’t a problem, since they did cocaine together last week. Peyton seems uneasy and Haley can’t believe what she has just heard.

At the same time, Felix catches up with Lucas. He has to stay away from Anna. Period.
