Episode 2.08 Truth, Bitter Truth

Overview:

The girls of Tree Hill have a slumber party, at which time secrets are revealed and bonds are made. Meanwhile, Nathan and Lucas road trip to Charlotte for a basketball game, and unknowingly to Lucas, they embark upon free HCM tests, a genetic heart condition that Dan maintains. Karen and Andy have a row.

Recap:

When Felix’s mother arrives home unexpectedly, a half-naked Brooke and Felix sneak quicker they can to Brooke’s bedroom, where Miss Davis finds something missing: turns out her mother sold her bed and is replacing it with a single.

Meanwhile, the newly bonded Lucas and Nathan decide to take a road trip to see the Charlotte Bobcats’ basketball game. Since Haley has the apartment all to herself, Brooke tells her that she should have an old-fashioned slumber party.

Brooke and Haley go to trade in CDs for money and Chris tells Haley that she should come down to the studio later to record tracks.
Meanwhile, Keith and Jules get closer after they slept together. At the same time, Karen confronts Peyton and tells her she knows that she did cocaine with Rick at the club because Haley told her.

Haley lies to Nathan and tells him that she will be with Brooke while she will be recording tracks with Chris. Peyton decides to bring Anna to the slumber party.

Karen hands in her paper to Andy along with a kiss and agrees to have dinner with him.
Jules tells Keith that she’s from the mid-west.

Peyton and Anna go to Haley’s house to find the door open, lights off, and stuff knocked over. Anna hands Peyton a bat and they walk quietly to the bedroom only to find Brooke in Haley’s bed with Felix.

Karen tells Rick to stay away from her club, because he deals drugs to teenagers. Rick threatens to stop all music connections to Tric but security escorts Rick out.

Brooke is mean to Anna because Anna’s dating Lucas, her former boyfriend… Brooke adds that Peyton is Anna’s new best friend. Yep, it seems someone is jealous here.

Haley and Chris record a duet together.When she returns home, she walks in on Felix taking a shower, screams and runs behind the other girls. Felix comes out half naked and smiling in his ‘Felix’ way.

Karen and Andy meet Jules and Keith on their date. Things become awkward so Jules offers to buy everyone a round.

Back at the slumber party Haley, Brooke, and Peyton get into an argument and Haley finds out that Brooke had sex in her bed. Brooke tells the rest of the girls that Haley lied to Nathan about hanging out with Chris, and Haley tells the rest of the girls that Peyton did cocaine with Rick.

Nathan tells Lucas that their trip wasn’t just about the game: he admits that they should go get checked to see if they have the same heart condition as Dan because there’s a one in two chance that they could have it.

Karen gets mad at Andy, because Andy tells her to wait, got out her paper and wrote down an A right then. Karen thinks he only wrote down an A because they’re dating and storms out.

The girls make up and decide to have a serious girl talk. Brooke apologizes to Haley for having sex in her bed. Haley admits it was stupid to lie to Nathan about recording tracks with Chris, and Peyton promises never to do cocaine again. Peyton, Anna, and Haley also convince Brooke that she shouldn’t lower her standards, and that her friends with benefits arrangement with Felix isn’t worth it. Then, Haley hits Peyton with a pillow which starts a pillow fight.

Andy calls Karen on his cell and Karen finds him outside her door. He apologizes but is does not understand why Karen’s mad. She finds out that he actually read the paper and she deserved the A. Mollified, Karen and Andy sleep together. Meanwhile, Keith and Jules are sitting in front of the fridge eating random junk food.

Nathan takes the test, but Lucas backs out because he doesn’t want to know if he has it, as it could affect his game. He doesn’t want to feel like he did after the car accident: afraid.
Keith gives Jules a key to his place after she uses her card to break into the house to bring Keith food.

Brooke apologizes to Anna for being mean and accepts her as a friend.

Lucas and Nathan are driving home and Lucas makes Nathan promise not to tell Karen about the heart test. The tape that was stuck in the stereo begins to play and they start singing together.

Peyton returns home with Brooke and hears a message on her answering machine from Rick.
Lucas comes home the next morning and hears Karen and Andy laughing in the bedroom.
Anna gets mad at Felix because she thinks he’s playing with Brooke, like he does with a lot of girls everywhere they go. Anna likes her new friends and doesn’t want Brooke to get hurt. Felix tells Anna that he really likes Brooke and he does care about her.

Nathan’s test results show that he doesn’t have the heart condition and he tells Lucas. They both know that the one in two chance means that Lucas has the heart condition.
