Episode 2.17 Something I Can Never Have
Overview:
Keith gets violent with Dan after learning that Dan paid Jules to fall in love with Keith. Anna turns Felix in to the school authorities after learning that he was the one who vandalized Peyton’s locker. Lucas and Brooke discuss Brooke’s possible move. Meanwhile, Nathan chances Haley in the hope of bringing her home. Brooke decides to move in with Karen.
Recap:
Keith finds out the bitter truth about Dan’s involvement in his relationship with Jules. Keith can’t believe Dan is actually so mean. Later, Keith decides to leave Tree Hill for good. “For the first time in my life, I don’t know if I have anything to come back for.”
Another bitter truth is in the air; Anna learns Felix did vandalize Peyton’s locker. As soon as Anna informs the school authorities about the truth, Felix got suspended. And it turns out his parents have just decided to send him into a military school – can I say it was about time? – and Anna points out: “At least there won’t be any lesbians to scare you.”
After learning what Felix did, Brooke dumps him, claiming she cannot believe he would be such a hateful moron as to write “dike” anywhere, let alone on her best friend’s locker.
Nikki wants to take Jenny’s custody. Peyton is really worried but Jake assures her he isn’t going to run away anymore but he wants to stand up to Nikki once and for all.
Unfortunately it seems Brooke is really leaving Tree Hill. She can’t move in with Peyton since her parents said that since Peyton had no adult supervision, it would be the same as her staying alone. Peyton is stunned: “Are you kidding? Charlie Brown has more parental supervision than you.”
Nathan goes and sees Haley. He tells her he loves her and that he wants to wait for her. Haley gives him the cold shoulder, even though it’s clear she loves him too. Nathan drives back to Tree Hill, without saying goodbye.
In the end, it turns out Brooke’s parents let her stay in Tree Hill only if Brooke moves in with Karen. Brooke is very happy about it, and so is Lucas, who, as he tells, wasn’t ready to let her go.
Back home, Nathan takes off his ring.
