Recap:
Nathan is released from the hospital and as soon as he returns home finds a pile of unpaid bills and an eviction notice. Besides he has also to pay the hospital bill. Lucas, Peyton and Brooke plan a fund raiser to raise money. But someone else paid Nathan’s bills: Dan. Unfortunately everything does have a price in Tree Hill… Dan wants Nathan to ask Haley for an annulment.
Brooke and Lucas are literally dancing around each other, but Brooke is too scared to get hurt again and, on the other hand, Lucas doesn’t want to push her. Besides, Brooke thinks Lucas might still have feelings for Peyton, which is not true - well, at least, at the moment.
Nathan finds a letter from his mother, who is currently in rehab. In the letter Deb wrote it would be great if they could be a family again. Nathan is torn. In the meantime, Haley is thinking of coming back to Tree Hill, since a successful career doesn’t mean anything if without Nathan.
Thanks to Brooke and Andy, Lucas finally finds out what lucrative scam Dan is into, but… surprise, surprise: Dan is putting the money into a trust fund which will pay Lucas’ college. Lucas is stunned.
Karen writes a letter to Keith. She lets him know she will always be there for him.
Nathan decides to give his support to Deb, so he moves back in with his dad. Meanwhile Dan pays Haley a visit, bringing the annulment papers. When she sees Nathan’s signature on it, she looks definitely hurt.
Someone else is back home: Lucas. Yep, he left Dan’s house for good and Karen is very happy to see him back. She claims they need to set some new ground rules since Lucas and Brooke had a history, but Brooke, looking sad, shrugs: “Oh, don’t worry Karen. We’re just friends. Nothing more.”
