Overview:

Recap:

Brooke, being the student council president, is preparing for the end of summer beach party. Lucas finds Nathan at the court - he’s back from High Flyers. They play a game to 11 for friendship, and Nathan wins. They’re still not friends. Brooke shows Haley the new look of their apartment to cheer her up, complete with a mural of the French Riviera in place of the wedding wall. She’s still down about her split with Nathan, hasn’t unpacked and stuff. Peyton emails Brooke a hideous demonic flyer for the beach party, testament to how she’s handling her "mum situation". She runs into Ellie at a restaurant while emailing that pic, and Ellie tells her she tried to see her when she was 10, but her dad dint let her - she even proves it to Peyton. This of course causes another fight between Peyton and her dad.
Lucas goes over to Brooke’s and disses her furniture. She talks with Haley about his non-exclusive thing with Brooke, he lets slip that Nathan was at the River Court in the morning and it turns out Nate dint tell Haley he was back. She goes over to the house but only finds Dan who has a few choice words for her. Larry tells Ellie to stay away like she agreed to at Peyton’s birth. Ellie tells him her situation has changed, but doesn’t explain. Lucas and Brooke at the beach finish setting up. She tells him she wants to see other people at the party, he agrees - has no choice really. He goes back to the cafe and finds his mum dabbling with teen language. They talk about Andy, apparently he may not be coming back.
Haley finds Nathan at the Ravens gym. They small talk, she tells him they have some decisions to make and that he’s changed, he says he has her to thank for that. Lucas sees Ellie buying drugs. Brooke tells Peyton she has to go to the party that night coz she’s the DJ since Mouth is off mourning Erika.
At the party, Peyton plays crummy music, then angry metal when people complain. To reflect her crappy mood. Meanwhile Dan goes to see Karen and tries to accuse her of starting the fire. She tells him she’s sorry whoever it was failed, but maybe next time they wont. Haley and Lucas aren’t having such a good time since Brooke is off seeing other guys and Nathan hasn’t even come. Lucas talks to Peyton and she tells him she’s thinking maybe she should let Ellie in, and he tells her about the drugs. He then goes to the River Court and tries to talk some sense into Nathan - they fight, but Nathan ends up going to the party and first thing he does is throw Haley’s guitar into the fire. Sugar, we’re going down by Fallout Boy is playing. Haley tries to talk to Peyton and Peyton blows her off, and instead plays the duet she did with Chris - Where the stars go blue. Nathan comes to talk to her and tells her he’s mad at her, that’s not changing any time soon and he doesnt know where they are or where he wants them to go. He’s gonna concentrate of basketball and she should also do her thing.
After that talk Luke and Haley catch up. They start walking away together, but first he tells Brooke that he’s the guy for her and she’ll soon realise it. Now, Move Along by Fallout Boy [or is it Weezer] is playing. Peyton takes her coke vial from Season 2 and goes and gives it to Ellie, telling her she knows about the drugs. It ends with Lucas and Haley standing talking in front of the campfire and Dan looking at Luke’s face in the light of the fire, probably thinking he saw it also at the dealership fire.
