Recap:

Brooke and Lucas, the new happy couple, wake up from their first night back together calling each other "girlfriend" and "boyfriend." In another bedroom in town, Nathan gets an early morning call from his mom and splits to go see her before Haley wakes up. So she’s greeted in the morning, all naked and groggy, by the new mayor of Tree Hill, Dan Scott. He torments her a bit before he leaves the room and takes a letter Nathan left for her before Haley even sees it. Peyton takes up Lucas’ offer to help her go find Ellie. And she wants to go — right away. And as soon as Brooke’s Clothes Over Bro’s website goes live, the orders start coming in — and they keep coming in. But she only has four dresses. So it’s panic time!
As soon as Lucas heads out on his road trip with Peyton, they realize that Brooke will freak and be reminded of their last scandalous road trip. It did kind of scar the girl. But things are different now. Brooke and Lucas are exclusive, and trust is the name of the game.
When they arrive at Ellie’s house in River City, Lucas drops off his friend to go explore the town. Naturally, he migrates to a basketball court and it’s not long before he runs in to an old school chum, Faith. She wants to catch up and make sure he’s not dating some bratty cheerleader. Lucas has something to admit to his old friend. He’s dating Brooke Davis. But the Brooke Davis that Faith knew back in the day is not the same Brooke Davis of today. The two catch up and then challenge each other to a game of one-on-one.
Brooke recruits friends and foes (Rachel), and some small children to help her pump out supply for all the demand. But the sewing party in her apartment ends up more like a sweat shop. She’s demanding and downright unpleasant.
Nathan visits his mother, who is staying in a hotel room, hiding out. She has something to tell her son. She’s changed since she married Dan and she’s never been on her own until now. She’s not returning to Tree Hill. Nathan wants her to come home now that she got her divorce, but she can’t. Then Nathan notices that she’s a bit jumpy. She admits to her son that the fire was not an accident. She tried to kill Dan. She did it for both of them, so they could get away from him. Of course, the news that his mother attempted to kill his father does not sit well with Nathan.
It turns out that Peyton got the music gene from her bio-mom. When she arrives at Ellie’s home, it’s pretty much bare, except for a boat-load of albums. Ellie isn’t surprised to see her daughter. She asks Peyton what she’s doing there. Peyton tells her that it’s about business. Her friend has a great song and they want to put out a record. She needs her help. They chat and catch up and Peyton even invites her to come back to Tree Hill and live with her. But Ellie tells her she doesn’t have the time.
Haley is freaked that Nathan left suddenly with no word and passes on her worry to Brooke, who would worry about Lucas and Peyton being on the road together again, if she had the time.
Deb doesn’t just tell her son that she tried to kill his father, she tells Nathan about other evil things the controlling man has done. Two years ago, the scout from the number one high school basketball program came to recruit Nathan for their high school, but Dan sent him packing. Deb told Dan that Nathan was going to the school and she was going to take him, but Dan had other plans. He told his wife that if she left, he would find her and kill her. Deb now realizes that they will never be free of Dan.
The one-on-one game with his old friend reminds Lucas how much he loves the game, how much fun it is, and how much he used to like playing when it was just for kicks. When he leaves to go back and get Peyton, Faith leaves him with a command — don’t be a stranger, meaning don’t change.
Back at the sweat shop, Rachel ends up making her own dress. She ordered it that morning, but didn’t trust the designer. And has bad luck would have it, she is the only one who got anything done in Brooke’s sweat shop. When Brooke goes ballistic, Haley gently reminds her that she has been acting like a royal pain and no dream is worth it if you end up changing into a horrible person. Brooke realizes the errors of her ways, apologizes, and tells everyone they should go home — it’s her problem.
When Nathan leaves, Deb tells him that she hopes she can be as strong as he was when he emancipated himself. And then she tells him to go home and work it out with his wife.
Just as Peyton and Ellie seem to really be hitting it off, Peyton discovers that there’s no food or any kind of supplies in Ellie’s house. She thinks that her mother came to the house to die. She asks for the truth, and Ellie tells her off for once and even kicks her out. As she leaves, Peyton tells her that she wanted to produce the record so they could raise money for cancer research. She leaves thinking she’ll never see Ellie again. After she is gone, Ellie listens to a message from her doctor, urging her not to stop her treatment. Next scene, Ellie is at Peyton’s door, ready to start work on the song.
And speaking of showing up at someone’s door, Lucas is back to help Brooke through her difficult day and Nathan arrives at Haley’s. He wants to see her.
