Episode 3.18 When It Isn’t Like It Should Be

Overview:

Rachel invites the gang for a weekend getaway at her family’s cabin. Craziness will ensue, including a game of "I Never" which will cause characters to do things they normally wouldn’t, and a nasty little issue Mouth has been harboring toward Rachel will surface. Meanwhile, Karen will confront Dan about Keith’s death. Could she suspect the truth?

Recap:

Rachel invites Lucas, Nathan, Brooke, Peyton, Haley, Skills, Mouth, and Bevin to her cabin for the weekend. And as Lucas points out: "I think that’s what this weekend is about. Not regretting our pasts but appreciating everything that we’ve got now. Great friends, great memories." By the way, Rachel’s cabin is wonderful. Lucas wonders what Rachel’s dad does for a living. Brooke has no doubts: "I don’t know. Maybe, his is like Tony Soprano. It would explain her personality".
Nathan plots to steal Haley’s wedding ring so he can propose again for a larger and perfect wedding. Lucas helps his brother out. Unfortunately as soon as he shows Brooke, Haley sees the ring and gets it back. Nathan and Lucas plan to get it back again, once and for all; Brooke succeeds in stealing it while Haley is showering. Caught Haley’s ring, Nathan propose her to marry him again and she is happy to accept, of course.
Bevin and Skills get lost in the woods and eventually find their way back. Meanwhile, Brooke gets Lucas’ next letter and, since he isn’t currently at home, she goes upstairs to "Brooke" herself. Rachel later blabs to the group during "I never" and Brooke says "Payback’s a bitch."
Finally Mouth forgives Rachel about the time capsule and tells her not to tell the group for her safety.
Peyton goes on about her Pete from Fall Out Boy hookup but nobody believes her and accuses her of trying to cope with being single. The next morning, Pete makes breakfast and everybody is surprised. They hook up and Mouth realizes everybody has healed even Lucas and Peyton. Pete leaves but plans to be back.
Karen goes to Dan’s office with Keith’s things. She throws the adoption papers at him that were going to adopt the son he abandoned. She throws the wedding invitation for Keith marrying a hooker he hired. She throws the lease at him for Keith Scott Motors that he took away, then she storms out.
Earlier that day, Rachel gets defensive over a locked cabinet, while Brooke is clearly eager to know what is in it. In the end, everybody drives off down the road.
