Episode 4.02 Things I Forgot at Birth

Overview:

It’s her eighteenth birthday, but Brooke soon realizes that she has no one but Rachel to celebrate it with. Meanwhile, Nathan continues to struggle with memories of the accident and Dan continues to be haunted by remorse over his actions against Keith.

Recap:

It’s Brooke’s 18th birthday and, even though Rachel tries to cheer her up, our beloved David can’t help but feel sad because she lost Lucas and Peyton.
Finally Cooper wakes up and, as soon as the police stops by, he takes the blame for the accident. Then, he finds out Rachel lied: she isn’t pregnant. He is furious and orders her to stay away from him.
Peyton helps Lucas win Brooke back, but Brooke, seeing them together, assumes that Lucas and Peyton are now an item, which is not true, since Lucas told Peyton (and Skills) he is still in love with Brooke.
After realizing he killed his own brother because of a wrong assumption, Dan starts to go insane from the guilt, hearing and seeing the word "murderer" everywhere. Meanwhile, it turns out Cooper left Tree Hill for good. Nathan informs Rachel about it. She is sorry but she also notices Nathan has Cooper’s eyes. Yep, Nathan might be Rachel’s next love interest. Ouch.
Deb relapses into her drug-abusing ways after Dan’s death threat. She shoots out the window of Karen’s cafè by accident since she was carrying a gun in her bag. Karen points out Deb needs to admit her addiction and get over it. "I will not have a gun toting junkie destroy a 17 year old business."
Either Brooke or Haley is pregnant. While Brooke is positive Lucas will take care of the baby, even they’re not a couple anymore; Haley is afraid that Nathan won’t be that happy about the whole thing.
Whitey decides to let Skills join the team; in the meantime, Peyton tries to call up her brother, Derek, but, as soon as Peyton tells him she’s Ellie’s daughter, he kind of hangs up.
Nathan confronts Lucas about what happened in the river, and makes a startling confession: he did see the spirit of Keith help him get out of the car. Elsewhere, Dan asks Karen if they could be friends but she give him the cold shoulder.
