Episode 4.15 Prom Night at Hater High

Overview:

It’s Prom day, and emotions are flying high at Tree Hill. An emotional Haley confronts Nathan about the sex tape and asks for a list of all his past sexual encounters. Meanwhile, an angry Peyton asks Lucas to skip the dance altogether, but he refuses to take no for an answer. Finally, Brooke and Peyton let out all their tension in a confrontation that can tear them apart forever.

Recap:

It’s Prom day and it’s also the day after the whole sex tape thing concerning Brooke and Nathan. The residents of Tree Hill aren’t that eager to face it, though.
Brooke cannot believe Peyton slapped her last night, but Rachel assures it could have been worse. Rachel points out: "You could have gotten your a$$ kicked by a pregnant girl half your size." Brooke reminds Reckless Red Hair the day is still young.
Meanwhile, Haley confronts Nathan about what happened and wants Nathan to write a list of every single he has ever been with. Nathan is stunned but Haley shouts he can definitely cross "Peyton, Brooke, and my sister off of that list".
If Haley is angry, so is Peyton, who asks Lucas to skip the prom, but he refuses, since he wants to go there with her. Someone else doesn’t want to go to prom: Mouth, since Shelly isn’t going with him anymore.
After Chase broke up with her, Brooke shows up at Peyton’s. "Are you happy now??", is Brooke’s question. They end up getting into an argument. Peyton can’t believe she has always thought she ruined their friendship, when Brooke "ruined it a long time ago". In the meantime, Dan asks Karen to prom and she accepts. After decades of hatred, it seems things are getting better between them.
Bad news. Principal Turner makes up his mind: since Rachel got expelled, she won’t graduate. As soon as he learns about it, Mouth stops by her home. She is leaving that evening, she won’t be at prom. Mouth is very sorry about it but she is positive he will barely notice it, since he will be dancing with his hot new girlfriend. Mouth tells her she has broken up with. Rachel says: "I have always hated her". Mouth complains he has to be alone at prom, but Rachel assures him she told like five guys she’d to go with. They giggle. Then, Mouth tells her he would have loved to dance with her for one last time. He kind of wants to erase the dance they had after the shooting. Rachel agrees, then turns away from Mouth and says she isn’t exactly leaving too many great memories behind, after all. Mouth tells her she left him with some. "That means a lot", says Rachel.
Meanwhile, our beloved Brooke is "egging" Peyton’s house. They got into a fight, but, after a while, Peyton points out she doesn’t even care about Brooke, anymore. Brooke left her alone because she was honest with her in the worst year of Peyton’s life when she needed her best friend, and then she learnt Brooke was never really honest with her either. (Well can I say that, Goldilocks doesn’t seem to remember history isn’t exactly by her side, either?) However, then, Peyton brings up the fact Brooke, when she was mad at her, turned Peyton’s mother into a punchline. Now Brooke seems really hurt and speechless; Peyton ends up saying to Brooke: "My mother is dead, you’re right but as far as I’m concerned you are dead to me either." Brooke can’t believe it.
After a clarifying talk with Deb, Haley and Nathan make it up and go to prom together. She is wearing the beautiful dress Nathan bought for her.
Rachel is leaving. Brooke tells her she should packing too, since it’s Rachel’s house. Reckless Red Hair says, it’s fine… she can stay for a while "Take your time". Brooke feels guilty since Rachel got expelled because of her but the girl waves it off. Then, Rachel makes Brooke promise to make things right with Peyton. Brooke seems dubious about it. Rachel informs her about Mouth’s breaking-up issue. Brooke can’t believe Shelly broke up with him. Rachel suggests a new Clean Teens slogan: "We break hearts not hymen!" The limo has arrived. They says good bye, Brooke tells her she would have never thought to say that, but she will miss her very much. Rachel smiles, agrees and walks away. Then she comes bag and they share hug.
Nathan comes over Peyton’s and apologizes to her. She says she doesn’t care about anybody but Nathan tells her this is a lie. Meanwhile, Brooke finds a present in front of the door: a beautiful prom dress. And it’s clear Peyton brought it.
Prom time… Everybody is there; Brooke, who is going to prom with Mouth, finds out that on her dress it’s written "whore". She hugs Mouth, saying: "She cares!" referring to Peyton, of course. While the music is playing in the background, Lucas drives off to Peyton’s, because she didn’t show up; at the airport, Rachel is looking at her cell phone where there are Mouth and Brooke’s photos and Reckless Red Hair’ expression is sad. Someone shows up at Peyton’s. He’s blond, but he is not Lucas. Yep, it turns out Fake Derek is back in town!

Does anyone know the name of the instrumental song that plays while Peyton and Brooke are at Peytons house outside fighting?
