Chad Michael Murray Magazine Interview

OK, I got this off of othforums.net and fanforum.com.  It’s an interview with CMM in French from a magazine and then translated.

Last year, some rumors of tension between the actors of OTH circulated. There were some truth in those rumors?
You know, it’s been five years now that we all shoot together, and like it’s the case in every family, it can effectively happens that we argue. But it’s never mean and it never goes to a clash. Me, i get along with everybody, whether it is older actors like Paul Johanson or Moira Kelly, or those who have the same age as me. Well after, it’s obvious that i can’t be the best friend of everybody…

Have you already wanted to be behind the camera?
Yes. It’s besides an idea that goes inside my head since a long time now. I would love to direct an episode of OTH inspired from old Hollywood films like "Casablanca". This episode would be in black and white, with an atmosphere very 40’s, filled with smoke bars, cabarets, godfathers from mafia… It’s been more than 2 years that i harass Mark for letting me do it. Unfortunately, until now, my idea didn’t get a lot of supports. (laugh) It’s a bet risk, but i think it would give something really awesome!

Lately, you revealed to us that, like Lucas, you planned to write a novel. What is it going?
(Chad seems surprised) I talked to you about that? It surprises me, because i almost never talk about it! Anyhow, i’m still working on that book and i want the result to suit me 100%. It’s surely gonna take me quite a lot of time, because, on one hand i’m perfectionist, and in other hand, the book touches a very personal subject, of which unfortunately i can’t talk for now. The book will be named "Seven years", that’s all i can say.

Is it a long time since you dedicate yourself to the writing?
since my childhood, I write my thoughts in diaries, I write poems…I always felt the need to write about my experiences, I don’t really know why but it’s indispensable for me.

In all honesty, have you already felt in a moment of your career that you had "the big head".
I don’t know if the expression here is the same, it means that he get a bigger ego.
It happened to me a little, yes. When i started to become really famous thanks to the success of OTH, i think i lost a little who i really was. I admit it, during some months, i felt above everything. But i quickly understood that, if i continued thinking that way, my career would go right in a wall! So i tried hard to go back to my roots, to see again my old friends with who i lost a little contact. It made me felt damn good! The essential in this profession, it’s to not forget where we comes from, whatever the success we can have. The fact that we shoot the show far from Hollywood helps me a lot to live a normal life. It’s very nice to feel far from all this agitation and this frenzy. In Wilmy, the weekend, we can go to the beach or go around by boat instead of showing himself in trendy parties! Nothing is better to relax.

What your family thinks about your success?
They are proud of me! My family watch everything i do, my father records every OTH episodes. And, everytime, he calls me to tell me what he has loved and what he hasn’t. Sometimes he can be harsh. (laugh)

What did you think of your trip in France last summer for the Monte Carlo Festival?
I loved it! I simply fell in love with your country, your life style. I feel that you make the most of the good things than us and especially wine and food. Initially Kenzie and I wanted to visit Paris but then we preferred to stay in Cote D’Azur as we felt so good there. But we plan to come back one of these days to visit all the country. I’m so eager!

By the way, lately we heard you say a few words in french…

[In French] I talk just a little.
[laugh] Actually I learned French when I was in “‘classe troisieme”( i dont know which grade it is un the usa…). since then I did not practice it, so I forgot nearly everything. I still have some bribes left, stupid things like,
‘I want a croissant please” or “ where’s Paul’s dog?”, which is really shallow to engage in a conversation[laugh]

I can’t wait to read that book!!
