Lucas’s voiceover gives an update from last week with clips.

First scene is Lindsey waking up in Lucas’s room.  Lucas is up writing and apparently has been all night and says he’s energized and hasn’t felt this inspired since his last book.  She says it’s a good thing he’s energized because he has practice at school in 8 minutes.  Lindsey looks thoughtful as Lucas leaves.

Nathan is waking up and walks out of bed.  He calls for Haley but Carrie comes in and says Haley is at school.  She offers him breakfast but he turns it down.

Peyton is in her new office and is talking to Brooke on the phone while she’s in the construction area of Karen’s cafe.  Victoria beeps in.  Victoria wants her flight itinerary.  She announces she’s staying to open a Tree Hill store.  Victoria is not happy.  Brooke cuts the call short as she sees a sign from Karen’s cafe she wants saved.

Nathan walks downstairs to the kitchen.  Carrie says she could have helped.  She has made him breakfast…bacon and eggs arranged in a smiley face.  Nathan asks to be taken somewhere and Carrie agrees and goes to get his crutches.

Lucas is in practice and Haley comes in.  The guys are not playing well.  Lucas asks about Quentin and Haley says he hasn’t been in class all week.  Lucas asks about Nathan.  She says he’s a work in progress.

Mouth is at work and confronts Alice about his demo in the trash.  She apologizes for putting it in the trash and says she should have put it in the recycling bin.  Skillz is coming down the hall and Alice makes a comment about having friends at work.

Nathan is at the jail to see Dan. 

Dan says it’s good to see him and it’s been awhile.  Nathan says four years.  Dan says four years, 15 weeks and 2 days and then asks about the accident.  Nathan says it was a moment of anger and he had a chance to walk away and he didn’t.  His punishment is his regret.  Dan talks about regretting losing his family…things Nathan still has.  He asks about Jamie.  Nathan says he’s not there to talk about Jamie.  Dan asks if he knows who he is.  Nathan says he saw a picture of him once and he told him he was his grandfather and that he was dead.

Lucas goes into his office where Haley is in his chair.  Haley asks about Lucas renting the Tric space to Peyton and how Lindsey feels about it.  Lucas wonders why.  Haley says because Peyton is not just another ex-girlfriend and everybody knows that.  Lucas denies it and says they’re just old friends and she’s not the jealous type.  Haley says she’s having lunch with Lindsey in a few minutes.

Skillz and Mouth and are the river court eating.  Mouth is complaining about Alice.  Skillz advises him to “hook it up” with her.

Lindsey and Haley sit down at lunch and they’re talking about their first lunch where Haley asked Lindsey to bring her a copy of her driver’s license.  Lindsey asks Haley if she knew Lucas wrote all night.  Haley is surprised.  Lindsey says guess he got inspired.  Haley asks if that’s good.  Lindsey is concerned because of the timing because of Peyton coming back.  Lindsey says she feels like a jealous girlfriend.  Haley reassures her that Lucas loves her. 

Carrie and Jamie are at home playing with toys.  Jamie says can you keep a secret? He shows her something hidden in his closet but we don’t see it.

Quentin is dunking baskets in the gym when Skillz and Lucas walk in.  They give them a speech about how much work they have to do.  He says they’re starting at the fundamentals.  They have to make 3 free throws or they have to run.

Mouth is back at work.  Alice complains because he’s late–by 30 seconds.  Mouth asks why she hates him so much.  Alice says he thinks he’s above the work and he’s wasting his time.  Mouth kisses her.  She seems to like it but fires him.

Dan and Nathan are walking.  Dan says he appreciates him coming.  Nathan says he didn’t come for him.  Nathan says the tools Dan taught him with basketball ended up nearly destroying his family but it’s all he has and he’ll never let Jamie play.  Dan says he’s not on the crutches because he gave him a ball and he thinks he just wanted to blame Dan.  Nathan says he’s been blaming him but he was there to let go of it and he won’t be back.  Dan says, I love you, son as Nathan walks away.

Peyton is arranging her new office when Lindsey walks in.  She brings Peyton a bamboo for good luck.  Lindsey says she wants everything to work out and Peyton to know she’s there.

Skillz and Lucas are back at practice.  All of them are running since they didn’t make their free throws.  Skillz says they are expecting them to turn the program around but says if they don’t, maybe they can start a track team.

Nathan walks in and Carrie wonders how he got home.  Nathan took a cab.  Carrie is reading about him from basketball and Nathan says he’s no home town hero.  Carrie says , “You sure about that?”  She takes him to see Jamie’s closet.  It is a little basketball shrine about Nathan and him. 

Lucas takes a picture of the renovations in Karen’s cafe with his cellphone.  Brooke points out the sign she kept.  Lucas asks why she decided to open a store there and Brooke says because it’s home.  Brooke asks what he thinks.  He says he thinks it’s perfect.  He asks if it’s everything she’s imagined.  She’s today it is but ask her again tomorrow.

Haley comes into Peyton’s office where she’s going through albums.  Peyton gives Haley the bamboo and says it’s from Lindsey.  Peyton says it’s suspiciously nice and recounts their conversation.  Peyton thinks she was marking her territory.  Haley takes up for her and says it doesn’t sound like her.  Haley asks why it matters anyway since she didn’t come back for Lucas.  Awkward moment.  They hear a band and go downstairs.

It’s a band playing (Kevin Federline’s character) and Peyton says their unsigned.  They watch them for a minute and seem impressed.

Brooke is looking at a house.  She says she wants the house and the furniture and wants her gone in an hour for an extra 30K.  The lady picks up the cat and leaves.  She tells her there’s a roast in the oven and Brooke says she loves roast.

Quentin is at the river court and Haley walks up.  She asks him to come back to school.  He says there’s nothing left and there’s more to life than basketball like graduating.  She gives him a speech about education and how much it matters.  He comes onto her again.  She is disgusted and says she tried and walks away.

Jason walks into Peyton’s office and says she’s glad he’s meeting with her.  Jason says he’s tired and hopes it’s not “fan club crap” (hey!!!)  She asks him to sit and says she wants to sign them.  He asks why.  She gives him her resume and says she knows talent and she can do everything to get them where she can.  He passes and walks out.  Peyton throws out her lucky bamboo.

Lindsey is cleaning in the kitchen.  Peyton walks in and asks about the bamboo.  She butts in and says she knows she was marking territory and that’s fine because she’s not after Lucas.  Lindsey insists she wasn’t and says she had gotten one when she became an editor and she was trying to do the same for Lindsey but it’s good to know she’s not after Lucas.  She seems annoyed by Peyton, opens her door and says good luck.

Lucas and Skillz check in on the guys that are doing better at their free throws.

Carrie walks in on Nathan working on his physical therapy.  She encourages him.  She asks him about visiting Dan.  He doesn’t want to talk about it.  She asks if Haley knows and he says no.  Carrie says she won’t lie if she asks.  Nathan agrees and apologizes for his attitude to Haley lately.  Carrie suggests using a razor to do something nice for her.

Peyton walks in on Jason and gives a speech about her being the best label for them and walks away.

Mouth is at work and stops to see Alice and says he has something to say.  He says he never gave him a chance because of his looks.  He says she’s hiding her hot self behind her cold personality and he’s going to prove her wrong.  He goes to walk out and Alice stops him and kisses him.  She stops and says that was hot, he agrees and they fall on the couch kissing.

Haley drives up in the garage looking frustrated.  Carrie knocks on the window and ask if she had a tough day.  She says she realizes she can’t help people and feels responsible.  Carrie says someone is waiting to see her inside.  Haley walks in to find Nathan and Jamie at dinner and he’s clean shaven and both are in a suit.  Nathan says it’s the beginning of the way it’s going to be from now on.  He says it’s going to take more than dinner but it’s a start.  He gets up and pulls her chair out.  Haley says she misses Nathan.  Nathan and Jamie ask how her day was and she says it just got a lot better.  They eat dinner and chat.

Peyton walks into Brooke’s store.  Peyton jokes about a job and Brooke says she’s not *itchy enough to work in her store.  Peyton says I don’t know about that and I have references..just ask Lindsey.  Brooke says “Lucas’s Lindsey?  Were you mean to her?”  Peyton says she was marking her territory and she called her out on it.  Brooke doesn’t seem to believe her.  Peyton tells her about the bamboo.  Brooke shows Peyton the same plant and Peyton says I’m such *itch.  Brooke says now you can work in my store.

Haley is at home telling Nathan about her first day at school.  Jamie walks in and Nathan suggests they all stay up late for their special occasion and suggests they go out and play basketball.  Jamie is excited and throws the ball at Nathan.

Brooke takes Peyton into her new house.  Peyton can’t believe she bought it.  She says one of the rooms is Peyton’s. The hug and jump together.

Dan is cleaning floors and someone gives him a note his son left him.  A picture of Jamie is in it.

Nathan and Jamie are outside playing ball.  Haley is watching. Nathan and Haley look at each other while Jamie plays.

Peyton is in her office and Jason comes in and says they’re giving her a chance and not to let them down.  Peyton says I won’t and gets her plant out of the trash.

Lindsey walks in on Lucas while he’s writing.  She gives him some wine and asks if she should be worried about them.  Lucas says, “I love you.  That is never going to change.  You have nothing to worry about.”  He kisses her on her forehead and goes back to his desk.

Brooke and Peyton are on their deck.  Peyton says what if Lucas’s Lindsey gave Brooke the plant to make her territory with her.  They talk about how beautiful the place is and how empty they were before coming home.  Victoria walks up and Brooke asks why she’s there.  Victoria says when you charge a house, you have to confirm the address and then tells Brooke her vacation is over.  Brooke refuses.  Victoria calls her a spoiler brat and there’s a flight ready for her.  They argue.  She says “Mother!”  Victoria sets down the airline tickets and says bye to both of them.  Peyton asks what she’s going to do and Brooke shrugs her shoulders.

Previews for next week:

Peyton is in the studio with her new band and things don’t seem to be going well.  Peyton suggests they slow a song down and Jason says it’s my songs and we play them the way we want.
