OK, we’re in a break from the writer’s strike and we have exactly ONE WEEK until OTH returns. Woo Hoo!

I’m hoping those of you that aren’t quite caught up with the season are using this break to catch-up!

To get up to speed, here is recap of Season 5 by character/couple:

  • Lucas has successfully published his novel along with his editor Lindsey.  Lindsey and Lucas got engaged right after Peyton professes her love to him. They have a wedding but Lindsey runs out when she realizes he wrote the book about Peyton and he still loves her.  We found out during the four-year leap that Lucas proposed to Peyton but Peyton turns him down, ending their relationship (she said someday not no!).  Lucas is working as the coach for the Ravens at THH.
  • Peyton is back from CA. Brooke finances a new record label for her and we watch as she successfully launches her first artist, Mia. She still loves Lucas and tells him but he insists he wants to be with Lindsey. She currently is letting him have what he wants and being “happy for him”.
  • Brooke has built her clothing line to an empire but comes back to Tree Hill and opens a store in the old location of Karen’s Cafe. She has a “thing” with Owen the bartender at Tric and he goes with her to New York and helps her with Rachel. Nothing ever seems to materialize out of that relationship and now he seems to be gone for good. Brooke announces at the last episode she wants a baby. Also this season we have seen intense interaction between Brooke and her mother Victoria. She is mean and unloving toward Brooke. She sabotages her store opening, leaves her out of meetings and puts her down constantly. Brooke finally fires her from her company.
  • Nathan and Haley are unhappy as Nathan has taken up drinking after an accident that has left him in a wheelchair. He wises up and decides to straighten up. They hire a nanny named Carrie. She turns out to be insane and in love with Nathan. She even goes so far as to kiss Nathan but Nathan stays mum. Haley is mad when she finds out and kicks Nathan out of the house and then tells Nathan she wants a divorce at Lucas and Lindsey’s party. At the last episode, Carrie kidnaps Jamie but Dan saves him. The last scene is everyone gathered at Naley’s house and Dan walks in right behind Jamie.
  • Mouth begins working for a local television station and is sleeping with his boss Alice in order to get ahead his job. He realizes this is wrong and quits. He is introduced to Millicent, Brooke’s assistant, and they hit it off and begin some very cute, innocent dating. They have a small bump in the road when Mouth puts Rachel first and Millicent is put out. They talk it out and seem to be well by the wedding.
  • Skills and Bevin are no longer together. Skills lives with Mouth and is often with Jamie, making for some great scenes.  Skills also coaches with Lucas at THH.
  • Bevin and Tim make appearances during the season separately and we learned that they are now married with a son named Nathan.

Did I get it all?
