Watch with Kristin Spoilers

Posted by Amy with 184 Comments

Rebecca in Detroit: Kristin, you will be my hero if you give us some One Tree Hill scoop! I specifically want to know whom Lucas chooses.
News flash: It has been decided! I can’t say exactly who, sorry, because that is a huge reveal, and Mark Schwan would promptly open a can of whup-ass on me, but I can tell you the script has been written, and I think many of you will be happy. (I am.) In other news, Nanny Carrie is back! And so is Brooke’s mom! God help us all. If Nanny See You Next Tuesday so much as touches a hair on Nathan, Haley or Jamie’s heads, I will fly right out to N.C. and snap her in two.

Vegas Filming…to be or not to be

Posted by Heather with 84 Comments

I am trying to run this site without Amy and it’s hard.  I am reading that there is a chance that there won’t be any filming in Vegas but that they will be filming in Wilmington instead.  I can’t find anywhere that this is a definite change but it seems to be something that is in discussion.

*Amy’s here to save the day :) Had a break and got on WIFI–here’s the scoop*

Kidsday talks with actress Sophia Bush (+video)

Posted by Amy with 19 Comments

We interviewed actress Sophia Bush, who stars as Brooke Davis on the TV show “One Tree Hill,” in Manhattan recently.

What have been the most difficult scenes for you to film?
There was a scene with a lot of dialogue and it was really emotional. I think mentally those things are always very difficult. A three-page scene could take three hours to shoot. Even though on TV it is only a minute, you have to stay in one space for so long. There are camera setups and changes and you have to wait around. I think I can speak for all the kids on the show that the hurricane episode that we did in season three was the hardest. We all had to be in pairs in these scenes outside in the rain. When we were shooting, it was about 34 degrees in Wilmington [Del.] that week. They had massive rain towers dumping ice cold water on you and these huge fans to blow the wind around. You are standing in front of a fan that is 10-feet tall and it is so loud that you can’t hear.

Do you prefer to work in movies or television?
What I think is great is that I get to spend so much time working on a show and developing a character and that person become a second sort of skin. You work so hard in every little scene in a movie. At this point in a series, you read something in a script and you know exactly how to play it. You don’t have to work it out and figure it out. I like with a movie that you have the freedom to try out different things. So I like them both for different reasons.

How many awards have you received?
The Teen Choice awards were really big this year. I won three of those. It was very overwhelming for me. I also got to go to the Vail [Colo.] Film Festival last year and received an award from them. That was very cool. It means a lot when people say, “Hey, we like what you are doing.” That is why I was so bowled over.

What do you like about your character on “One Tree Hill”?
Over the years, there have been a lot of times I have looked over the script and I have told my producer, “I can’t do this; this is ridiculous, I would never!” He would say, “Sophia, you are not Brooke. Just because you wouldn’t do it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t.” What I do like about her — the things that I have had to portray her going through — you always learn a lesson from Brooke. She always manages to pick herself up when she falls on her face. And I respect that. She is not all high and mighty and she doesn’t act like she is always right. She has a lot of convictions and she is really loyal friend. I appreciate how loyal she is. She doesn’t take betrayal lightly and she doesn’t think it is OK to lie to someone.

What is your favorite hobby?
I haven’t really had much time for hobbies since I have started working. I would say taking pictures. I take pictures everywhere. For me whenever I have free time, I just want to spend time with the people I care about. I am finally learning how to snowboard. I tis something I have always wanted to do. I went once in college and it was the winter before I started working on the show and once I started working on the show I never had time to go.

If you could pick one guest star to go on “One Tree Hill,” whom would it be?
Cate Blanchett is just my idol, but I have no idea what she would do on “One Tree Hill.” Maybe I could dress her for an event or something. In my fantasy world, Brooke Davis would be sending Cate Blanchett down the red carpet at the Oscars. That would be fabulous.

When you were little, what did you always dream of doing?
I wanted to be a heart surgeon. I was the girl who was super excited when everybody else was totally grossed out in seventh-grade biology. I liked dissecting the pig. I stayed after class with my bio teacher and we actually dissected the head and brain and the whole thing. I wanted to be a surgeon, and then I had the eighth-grade play and it all went out the window.

The Glamorous Life: Mark Wahlberg, Rihanna

Posted by Amy with 1 Comment

Rihanna gets feted by Gucci in Beverly Hills; Britney and Mel G. together again; Marky Mark Wahlberg disses the Beckhams; Kate Hudson debuts a hairy new business venture in Manhattan; Madonna heads to the Hamptons this summer; Mikhael Gorbachev gets a rousing celebrity welcome in Surrey; and Naomi Campbell takes a dive in Capri.

Los Angeles

Some girls have all the luck!

Rihanna didn’t need an umbrella or an S.O.S. over the weekend as she reigned supreme at an al fresco dinner in Beverly Hills hosted by Gucci. The soiree, held at the Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel, not only honored the pop princess but also celebrated the fall Hysteria bag collection from the luxe Italian fashion house. On hand for the chic evening was Ugly Betty’s Becki Newton, The Office’s Rashida Jones, Sophia Bush and Elvis’ granddaughter, Riley Keough, among others. Wonder what was in those gift bags? Hmmm….
