New Site Feature
If you haven’t noticed in the comments yet this evening, we’ve added icons to the comments. You can have one just by signing up the email address you used to comment at gravatar.com and picking an image. Somtimes it takes a few hours for it to show up at first but then you’re good. We do currently have a generic OTH one displaying by default if someone doesn’t have one. Let us know what you think…we do have control over how big they are, the placement and such so give us some feedback.
And don’t forget, our site move begins on Sunday at noon EST. I’ve had a few questions about it but basically you shouldn’t notice it at all but if there are issues, it’s just us getting everything set up. Thanks!

It takes some time after the first time you register it at gravatar.com for it to show up.

and fyi, you don’t have to leave another comment, it always shows your most recent icon, even if it’s an old comment. i don’t mind the comments though

Well I guess that one works. I added one of my other email addresses to the account and it worked immediately.

the site doesn’t say how long..it just says they cache it “for a period of time” before they reload it. so not sure what to expect.

Mine took a few hours to work.
The site shouldn’t be down at all tomorrow. Cross your fingers it should be seamless.

When it works and you come back to a comment you have made in the past, the icon will be different. It always has the most recent icon you’ve picked (assuming it’s been updated). Did that make any sense? Basically just refresh this page and you should see it when it’s working.

Lot’s of things on the internet are pissing me off tonight! For one my vid that I just uploaded isn’t showing up under it’s tags… like when I search the most recent OTH vids it’s not there… nobody’s going to watch it if it doesn’t show up argh!!!
Then I’ve been looking for a comment I posted a while back on this site and I have searched and searched and searched for two days and I still can’t find it!!
Now this stupid gravatar thing … and for some reason I saw the gravatar when I was searching through my old posts but now it’s not there!!!

Just thought that I would point this out. I loaded mine using my hotmail account and it still hasnt show up and I did it over 12 hours ago. However last night I added my yahoo acct to my gravatar account and put the same icon up there to show and it worked immediately (And by immediately I don’t mean the 5-10 minute wait that they tell you, I mean like right then). Just thought I would point that out for anyone who is having problems.
