Natural Energy Lab is reporting Earlimart’s song Face Down in the Right Town (Down? iTunes I think has it listed wrong or something? can someone clarify?) will be featured on One Tree Hill. sew16@FF is reporting it will be in 6.02.
Here are the lyrics:
So you did what you thought was right
Oh giving up the fight
The only way that we knew was wrong
Got me hanging on and on
It’s everything you want
Everything you need
And the people who counted on
Let you down one by one
So be sure what you’re asking for
Telephone don’t ring no more
It’s everything you want
Everything you need
Ooh in the right crowd
Face down in the right town
No good uptown
But maybe somehow
We’ll get back home
Don’t care who walks through the door
The life I paid twice for
Rearranging the furniture
It reminds me of who you were
It’s everything you want
Everything you need
Ooh in the right crowd
Face down in the right town
No good uptown
But maybe somehow
Ooh in the right crowd
Face down in the right town
No good uptown
But maybe somehow
We’ll get back home
We’ll get back home
We’ll get back home
We’ll get back home
Matthew Ryan, the same guy who is composing music for an episode in Season 6 as Mark reported has another song being used in episode 3. From Matthew Ryan:
Mark Schwahn approached me a while back about scoring a One Tree Hill episode. With the help of David Henry, Mark and a handful of late nights we finished the score.
It went really well. I think the episode and the music is beautiful.
My song Some Streets Lead Nowhere will be used as one of the main theme’s of Episode 3 (of season 6).
We’re going to release Some Streets Lead Nowhere via Digital Distribution on Itunes, Amazon and all those places you get music on September 9, 2008… 9/9/08 credit: sew16@FF
Here are the lyrics posted on his MySpace page. You can also hear the song there but be sure to buy it.
Some Streets Lead Nowhere
I can’t tell you where I’ve been now darling
There are hawks inside my head
And every smile and every good thing are picked at ’til they are dead
I love you was all she said
That’s all she said
From that old street
to that new house
to those beautiful hills
Inside your blouse
To the rain that kept falling
And those years off the rails
When we smiled like two sailors
With holes in our sails
When I’d turn to a coma
With a black hole in my chest
When a kiss was the cure
& I’d save my breath
When you’d walk to the bedroom
& I’d fall on the couch
If I wasted your beauty
I’ll ignite it somehow
Cause a dream can be cruel
When it haunts you like this
With your eyes like a deer
And the words from your lips
What I’m trying to say is
I was afraid that you’d leave
So I slept with my failures
And I started to grieve

No Sarah, Amy has it right. It is “Face Down in the Right Town.” I have an interview with Aaron from Earlimart in my next One Tree Hill Connection podcast which will air Sept. 9 and checked with him about the titles.

“From that old street to that new house to those beautiful hills inside your blouse”…only a guy could write something like that! I love the idea that a kiss made everything okay again. Can’t wait to see the song used in context.

kat2392…one of my favourites (not on the OTH cd’s) is Within You by Ray Lamontagne. It is the song that plays at the end of 4.21 starting when they leave the party until they are all at the River Court. There’s is just something so beautiful about it.
