Episode 4 Bridge Over Troubled Water Recap

For those that participated last week, we found the chatroom we opened up while the site was down to be pretty fun. So we’re putting it back up for tonight. Hopefully that will let you guys get all your thoughts out if (when) the site goes down after the show. While I’m live-blogging the show and getting other posts together for you, Christy-Anne will be your mod over there.

Nathan is playing ball at the RC. Quentin starts playing with him and giving him a hard time. Q fades from the court as they play. Lucas begins a voiceover about saying goodbye again and again.
Lucas goes into his office and sees Q in his desk chair but he fades.
Skills leaves his house and Q says bye as he reads the paper about his death.
Haley drives by the gas station and sees him standing there waving.
At the grave, Haley and Jamie stand. Haley reads his headstone. Jamie asks if there’s b-ball in heaven and Haley says yes. Haley says it’s been 8 days. Jamie says he misses him.
Deb walks into the kitchen where Nathan is. Nathan is upset b/c he found out she was screwing his friend at a funeral. Deb says they have to find a way to live together. Nathan says he can’t get used to it and puts suitcases on the counter. He says say Hi to Antwon for me.
Dan’s car drives by the cemetery and Jamie thinks he sees Dan but Haley tries to explain. Jamie wants to see him.
A guy is playing guitar in the studio. Peyton walks in and says is that?? The guys says, yes, Mick Wolf. She asks what he’s doing there. She walks in to meet him. He says he hopes she doesn’t mind. She says no, she’s a big fan. She asks why she’s there.
Brooke is at the therapist and says she got robbed at her store. She says it’s not random. Nothing her mother does is random.

Deb is at the park and Nanny Carrie sits beside her and asks her which one is hers. Deb says he’s not there. Carrie says she has seen him with her before. Deb says I’m actually his nanny before I got fired. Carrie says been there. Deb says in my case my son didn’t appreciate who I was sleeping with. Carrie says people don’t appreciate nannies.
Brooke says her mother hired someone to get the sketches in order to convince the board to give her control of the company. The therapist says we have a lot to talk about.
Lucas and Nathan are in Jamie’s room. Lucas says all these years I thought we were talking about Skills’ basketball skills. Nathan says it’s not funny. He’ll get over it for Quentin and the game. Luke says the way I see it Skills will be a better father than Dan ever was. Nathan throws a ball at him.
Haley takes Jamie to see Dan. All his papers are stacked up and no one answers the door. The front door is open. Haley tells Jamie to wait in the car for her as she checks to see what’s going on.
Deb goes to see Skills. Deb tells Nathan he kicked her out. He says to stay there. Deb says she’s worked hard to get back in his life and they have to face facts. Besides what would his parents say. He says my last girlfriend was Bevin, I’m sure it’s a step up. Deb says you’re sweet but I think for both of us, we need to end this. Skills looks really upset.
Peyton and Mick talk at the studio. They talk about his past as a musician. Peyton asks him to lunch. She has a lot of questions for him. Mick is hesitant when he sees her moms jacket and says you look just like her.

Mick and Peyton walk and talk at the riverwalk. Mick asks how he knew about her. He read about her in the liner notes of the benefit CD. She asks if he knew her dad and he says no, he doesn’t think anyone ever knew him.
Haley calls the dr asking about Dan. Skills walks in looking for Nathan. He tells her Deb broke up with him. Haley tries to joke about it but Skills says everyone thinks it’s a joke but he has feelings for her. Haley says she doesn’t want in the middle of it. He convinces her to help. Haley says she’ll see what she can do but he should man up and talk to Nathan himself.
Brooke is with the therapist. She talks about why she started the company with Victoria, hoping she would love her. She says she bought a gun. Not to hurt her but it occurs to her it wouldn’t bother her if she was dead and that couldn’t be normal right? She wonders how she got that way. She says maybe she should ask her mother that question.
Nathan and Haley talk at a table at school and talk about Skills and Deb and then Dan. She tells him about not seeing Dan. Nathan says he saw him a few weeks ago and told him to go off and die. Haley is worried about Jamie.
Lucas goes in to Q’s yard. He sees Andre. They talk about Andre being a Raven one day. His mother comes out and she invites Luke in.
Samantha is in a fight at school. Haley breaks it up. She stops Sam and asks if she’s ok. Sam says I heard about you in school so don’t pretend like you know anything about my life…see you in detention, Hannah Montana.

Haley and Brooke are in Brooke’s kitchen talking about Samantha and then Jamie. Brooke says she wishes she had a family like theirs.
Mick and Peyton talk at the studio. She was hoping Mick could fill in some blanks about Ellie. He says their romance was one of the all-time greats. Which meant it was messy. He says we should all be so lucky. Peyton says Luke would want to meet him and asks him to go to a game.
Nathan makes soup for Jamie in their kitchen. Jamie says he misses Deb. He says does it have anything to do with them kissing? He says you knew about that? He says yeah. I like both of them. Nathan says but Skills is my friend and Deb is my mom. Jamie says yeah, but I let you kiss my mom. Nathan says, just eat your soup.
Haley is at school and announces the game is dedicated to Q and she’s not handing out homework. She asks Sam to stay. She says she read the paper and it was very good and she says she should write more and shoplift less. Sam tries to deny it. Haley says Brooke isn’t going to press charges and has stuff for her and hands her a bag. Sam says I’m not homeless. Haley says I don’t know what’s going on but if you want to talk, I’m here.
At the gym, they put up Q’s jersey and cover it up. Nathan and Skills are at the gym. Skills tells Nathan is started weird but Deb makes me happy. He says he doesn’t want to mess it up and he knows they should have said it from the beginning but he really likes Deb and he’s leaving the ball in Nate’s court.
In the locker room, Lucas gives a pep talk about playing after a death saying that the game had the power to heal them if they let it. Q’s mom comes in to talk to the team. She says to remember the happy times. Especially when he was holding the basketball. Not to feel guilty playing without him. She says play your hearts out or Andre will. Don’t feel like your moving on without him because he’ll be on the court with you. Luke shows them their uniforms with a patch above their hearts. They give Andre and Jamie high fives on the way out of the locker room.
Lucas gives a speech to the crowd at the basketball game. Live honorably to honor Q. No Raven will ever the 44 again. No one can take his place in our hearts. Denise and Andre unveil the jersey on the wall. Luke asks for a moment of silence for #44 Quentin Fields.
Carrie walks into Jamie’s room. He takes some of Jamie’s clothes and says they need it for a road trip. She stops and gets Chester.
Brooke walks into V’s house and she asks what’s going on. Brooke puts a gun down on the table and says we have some catching up today.
Luke tells the team they are putting 4 out and leaving the 5th for Q. The ref says they can’t play with 4 and Luke says all my players are in. Skills says this might be the greatest lost I’ll ever see. Luke says sometimes it’s not about winning, it’s about healing.
Victoria asks about her eyes. She seems surprised. Brooke says I know my mother attacked me. V asks if she reported it. B says you trained me well. I protected the company. V says I would never physically harm you. B says maybe you didn’t mean to. Maybe you thought it was Millicent. V says you are so wrong. B says someone died last week and it the midst of their grief I felt nothing and I realized I’m turning into you. V says what do you want me to say? I was a failure as a mother? You got everything you wanted. B says except your love. V says she dreamed of what Brooke has but I sutpidly fell in love and one morning we got a little surprise and I told your dad I didn’t want kids. He wanted a son and when she had a girl, she made sure she couldn’t have kids so he couldn’t get his dreams. She should be thanking for for her life. B says she knows it’s not her fault. Brooke is going to divest her interest in the company. She can have everything. Congratulations, V, you have a company and no daughter. You got your dream.

After the game in the locker room, Lucas gives a speech how they lost but they have something no one will ever forget. 4-man Ravens made them scratch and fight and claw for that one and shows that a team is more important than a game. Tell your grandkids you played hard for Quentin fields. They should be proud of themselves. He is. A player stops him and says they want to play with 4 the rest of the season. Luke says it will be hard for all of them. They want to do it for Q. He’s out there. Luke says it’s been an honor coaching them.
When the team comes back to the gym, everyone claps.
Mick and Peyton walk out from the gym. He says he’s going to do some recording. She says I thought you were done. He says maybe one more thing. She tells him she thought maybe you were my father. He says that would be something wouldn’t it? He says see you later and walks off.
Brooke gets into a cab and asks to go to the airport..she’s going home to her family.
Sam takes the COB from her locker at school.
Carrie kisses a picture of Jamie bye and she says see you, sweet baby.
Nathan asks Deb to move back in at the gym. He says Jamie needs her. He says does Skills really make you happy? Deb says yes. Nathan says I don’t want to hear about it but I want you to be happy. Deb walks over to Skills to hug him and Nathan walks off.
Haley answers the phone and seems shocked. Nathan sits down with her. Dan’s dr called and they had a heart for him and he never called.
Nathan is playing at the RC. Q is standing at the edge of the court watching. Skills walks up and says I know Q was working with you on your game. What were you working? Nathan says he always said I couldn’t go left. Skills says maybe that’s where we start and they start playing ball.
