Season 6 Episode 5 You’ve Dug Your Own Grave, Now Lie In It Recap

Nanny Carrie is digging a grave in the house yard with a voiceover. Luke does the voiceover and it shows Leyton in bed. Nathan has part of it while he plays at the RiverCourt. Brooke begins the voiceover while she looks at her bruises in the mirror at COB. Back to Carrie digging. Dan has the voiceover.
Peyton is in their kitchen making tea. Luke comes up behind her and hugs and kisses her. Peyton says they have a date for the wedding. Luke seems hesitant but he’s worried about telling Lindsey at his meeting about the engagement and wedding.
Peyton runs into COB excited. Peyton wants help with a dress. She jokes about having the Lindsey runaway bride train. Peyton wants a Guns n Roses rocker dress. Brooke isn’t that excited. She says she’s upset about a “thing” with Victoria. Brooke says it’s very nice to see Peyton. Says everything is going well for her with Lucas and Mick Wolf. Brooke has no idea who he is. Peyton explains. She’s excited about hearing about her mother when she was young. Brooke seems upset and Peyton wants to know what happened but Brooke says it’s not important.
Nathan gets a call in his kitchen. Haley and Jamie listen in. Nathan tells them he’ll be there today. Haley asks if everything is ok. Nathan says the GM called for a developmental NBA league and asked if he wanted to play. Jamie and Haley are really excited for him.
Carrie looks into the grave and says today is the day Dan Scott dies and she gets Jamie back.
Sam comes into COB and tries to return the clothes Brooke gave her. They argue about Sam stealing the clothes. Sam tries to say she was going to pay for them. As they argue, movers come in and start packing up the store. Brooke says Victoria would love to give you a full cash refund.
Mick is playing in the studio. Peyton comes in and asks about the guitar he’s playing. She asks if it as around when Ellie and her dad were together and he says yes. He tells her everyone just knew they were supposed to be together. Peyton leaves him alone looking thoughtful.
Nathan goes to meet the GM at the basketball arena. He take him to show him around.
Jamie runs into the kitchen and gives the phone to Haley. she has to ask the person to repeat themselves. The person says it’s hospice and she starts writing down information.
You see Carrie faking an accent talking to Haley. She tells Dan her plan is going to be a smashing success. She asks what “It” would like for it’s last meal.
Deb goes back into the kitchen and asks if Haley is ok. She says Nathan was right all along that Dan has gone off to die and hospice says he only has a few hours and he’s asking for Jamie. Deb says it doesn’t sound like Dan..he would have had more grandstanding. Haley says she promised Jamie to see Dan and she wishes Nathan were there to help.
Lucas walks into Lindsey’s office. Lindsey seems excited to see him. Lucas says he has something important to tell her. Lindsey says she doesn’t want to do the emotional thing. She shows him the book. It’s a cover with a nightline on it and says Lucas Scott The Comet.
Mick and Peyton are in Peyton’s office. He asks her for five albums she’d take on a stranded island. They agree to both write them down.
Brooke is at the therapist and says she got a young girl shoplifting. She says she felt jealous of her. She realized she let the company matter too much. She built the company up and then sit terrified someone will take it away from them. The girl didn’t care what anyone thought and she was jealous. She says but she doesn’t have to worry about it. She signed the company over to Victoria.
Nathan watches as the guy play ball. He says it’s great. The GM has been watching him for awhile. He says they really want a good coach like him. Nathan is shocked. He thought he wanted him to play. The GM says, come on, you know you’re playing days are over.
Peyton and Mick exchange album names. Peyton’s #1 album is Elvis Costello My Aim is True. Mick has the same one. Peyton asks why her dad never reached out to her. He says he can’t answer that. Peyton says why’d they give them up. Mick slips and says “we”. He says they were screwed up and it wouldn’t have worked. Peyton says to come over later to meet Luke and find out about her dad. He’s hesitant but he’ll be there.
Haley leaves a message for Nathan and tells him about Dan. Jamie comes in and asks what hospice is. She tells him Dan is sick. She tries to explain. He asks if he’s going to die like Quentin. Jamie says he didn’t get to say bye to Quentin, does he get to say goodbye to Dan? Haley is resolved and says yes.
Nathan and the GM discuss the issue. The GM says his injury was no small injury. Most guys wouldn’t be thinking about playing. Nathan says he’s been rehabing and he can play. GM says he has respect for him but he’s looking for a coach and that’s where Nathan’s future is. Nathan gets the voicemail on his phone. The GM says I know you’d be popular and do a good job here.
Peyton calls Lucas crying. She says Mick is her father. She says he hasn’t said it directly but he’s coming over for dinner. She thinks she’s known since the minute they met. Lucas says it’s going to be ok and he wishes he’ll be there. Lindsey comes to get Lucas and he’ll call her later. Peyton says she feels better when she talks to him and she loves him.
Lucas Lindsey are in a presentation of the book tour. He says Omaha is on the 24th. He says he has a problem with the Chicago date but he says the schedule is set. Lucas insists. Lindsey tries to talk him into it. He says he understands but he needs to change it. Lindsey takes him to her office.
Lindsey is upset b/c they didn’t even want to do a book tour. She says what could possibly be more important? He says my wedding. It’s Peyton. Lindsey gets upset. Lucas says he wanted to tell her. Lindsey says she’ll talk to them about Chicago. She says I guess I was right along about Peyton but she wishes he would have done it over the phone.
Brooke asks the therapist if she was foolish for giving it up. The therapist says the company would never have been hers if V was involved. Brooke said at first it was great but now Brooke says she feels empty. Even her store is empty. She says she hasn’t been able to tell her best friend about it. Brooke says she feels like she failed. She’s watching all her friends moving forward and she’s stuck, standing still. The therapist says she’s 22 and the president of company, that’s hardly standing still. Brooke says it’s gone. The therapist says she’ll do something else. She’s menasuring everyone else’s success by relationships but hers by work. Why does she insist on going through life alone?
Sam watches people eat from outside and moves on.
Nathan sits alone at the arena. The GM walks up and asks what he thinks. He says he doesn’t know. The GM says letting go of playing is hard. Nathan wants to talk to his family about it and he’ll get back to him.
Peyton puts music on the record player and says Dad, I’m waiting. She has the table set.
Lucas walks up to Lindsey at the bar and says he never meant to hurt her. Lindsey says she saw it coming all along. She says Chicago will be fine, she’ll make it ok. Lucas says he should go so he doesn’t miss his flight. Lindsey stops him and gives him his book. Lindsey says the first time we met I told you I was pulling for the couple in the book…goodbye, Lucas. Luke walks out.
Dan tells Carrie it’s not too late to stop everything. Carrie says no. Dan begs her. Carrie says where is scary Dan. Dan says if you touch Jamie, you’ll meet him. Carrie gives him a shot of something and says sweet dreams. Carrie looks out the window and Haley and Jamie are there. Dan falls asleep.
Haley tells Jamie to stay in the car. She wants to check if they’re in the right place. Haley goes in the house and sees Dan and knows it’s not right. He tries to wake him up. Dan tries to tell her to get Jamie. Carrie knocks her out from behind.
Deb is looking for an old bottle of wine in the kitchen. She dusts it off and finds a picture of Carrie in the drawer. Seh puts two and two together and sees the address Haley wrote down.
Jamie is in the car and Carrie comes up to the window and won’t let Carrie in. He says Carrie is a bad person and he wants his momma. Carrie gets mad and goes and gets an ax and says someone needs to learn some manners. She knocks the window out but Jamie is already running to the corn field. Carrie runs after him.
Haley is knocked out on the floor. Dan tries to wake her up. He spots a gun on the table.
Carrie is still running through after Jamie. He turns one way. Carrie slows down and tries to calmly call to him. She gets a needle out and ready. She calls to him and says she won’t be mad and she has something special. She passes right by him as Jamie crouches on the ground. Carrie hears her. Someone grabs Jamie from a row and you see Haley hug Jamie and says it’s momma.
Nathan gets the message from Haley.
Haley’s cellphone rings and Carrie runs after them. Haley and Jamie get out of th efield and Carrie is right behind. Deb steps out from the car and hits her with the wine bottle. Deb says I guess there’s more than one crazy nanny in this town.
Nathan throws a shot on the court and makes it. The lights go out on the court.
Luke is in a NY taxi looking at his book. There is a note from Lindsey written in it that she’ll miss him.
Deb says she was saving that bottle for the day she was rid of Dan Scott. As they hug. Carrie comes after them with an ax. A gun goes off and Carrie is hit. It was Dan and he says God, I hate the woods. Carrie is dead on the ground.
Brooke is at a coffee shop. The waitress asks if she’s ok. She says she’s fine and wants the check. She says it’s taken care of and sees Sam. She tells her she didn’t have to do that. She says it’s her money anyway since she owed her for the shirt. She says she’s gotta go for curfew. Brooke says it’s not a bad thing to have a mother that worries.
The record is done at Peyton’s house. Mick didn’t show up and she blows out her candles.
Mick is drinking at a bar. He pulls out a coin that says one year sober. He tells the bartender to shut up and pour.
Sam goes to sleep in the back of a car in the school garage.
Brooke is in an empty store. Millicent goes in and says Victoria called her today to fire her. Millicent says she heard there was a start up that needs help. They decide to work together.
Carrie opens her eyes and laughs. She says you think you can kill me? I’m still here. Dan says he called the police. He says I told you I’d kill you if you ever came near my family. She says I’m not dead. He says sure you are and shoots her.

Yes, ITA, I did feel sorry and I am so glad she said that she had been right all along about Peyton. Unfortunately, Lucas looks like a fool once again, lol.
I am hoping this closes the book (no pun intended) on Lindsey and Lucas!

She knew what she was getting into when she started dating Lucas she set herself up for this I am not a lindsey fan and she set herself up for hurt by saying yes to him and I didn’t feel bad for her she now feels how peyton feels when she shoved the ring in peytons face in season 5

I am sure Lucas only felt bad that he had hurt someone again but Lucas needs to be selfish for Peyton and not think about how Lindsay feels. He has to be strong for Peyton. I am sure Lindsay understands that. She believed in Lucas and Peyton even when Lucas didn’t. She should understand.

okay… yes i agree that they KIND of made Lucas look like he still may have some feelings for Lindsey (which i’ll admit, he probably does… they just ended things recently), BUT the show could always just be doing that to throw us off and make us THINK that Leyton may be in jeopardy. We know that Leyton is still together when the movie producer comes into play, because that’s supposed to cause JEALOUSY… so i’m not worried for Leyton at all! AND if you all noticed… when it FIRST showed Lindsey in the bar, she was DRINKING wine, so she can’t be pregnant! and finally… THANK GOD NANNY CARRIE IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!! ughh that storyline lasted WAY too long. ofcourse, it’s very typical of the show for her to return once again… because if you think about it, it just showed Dan shooting her, it didn’t CONFIRM that he actually KILLED her.. so lets just keep our fingers crossed!

I think showing Lucas WITHOUT any feeling toward Lindsey would have portrayed him as a cad. He pined for her for weeks and weeks to have him shift gears as he did without remorse would have cast an even darker light on Lucas.
But showing him snap at Lindsey when she went on and on about the Chicago date showed his devotion to Peyton. He was getting married, they set a date, and he was firm on it.

Did you see the way Lucas’ eyebrow did a little something when he said good-bye? I don’t think the “book” is closed. Guess time will tell. I live in Fayetteville where they shot the Nathan scenes-it was cool to see the coliseum-wonder which seat he was sitting in? I just have to go sit in it!! Sorry ! 2 weeks! Torture!

okay… we all know that i’m the ONLY Lindcas fan on here… haha. BUT i really did feel sorry for Lindsey. like what did she do to deserve to get hurt?? nothing. all she did was fall in love. she didn’t “set herself up” for anything. if you fall in love, you fall in love. it just happens. HOWEVER i was very impressed with how she handeled the news. she was mature and totally understanding like i thought she would be. and yeah… they did make it look like Lucas was kind of holding some stuff back… at the bar when she handed him the book, he started to say something but she cut him off. and he looked out of the window in the cab and smiled when he read her message… does this mean something?? i have no idea… i hope it does but it probably doesn’t! either way… i’m just glad they finally got some closure!
and p.s.– no one can deny that Michaela’s acting tonight was freakin AMAZING!

I really liked that episode! it was awsome! but I didn’t like the fact that Lindsey had to play a part in it, so I just hope that she doesn’t make many appearances in this season or for anyother season for that matter. Everytime I see Lindsey with Lucas I allways invision him cheating on Peyton with her, and then I die a little inside. LOL jjk

Tonight was a good episode. I’m so happy that crazy carrie is dead (hopefully). I loved Deb’s line about there being two crazy nannies in town. Loved the Leyton scene (which I had already seen from the preview). The look on Lindsey’s face when she asked what could be more important and Lucas said his wedding was PRICELESS. Is it wrong that I was happy to see Lindsey drinking wine? I hope Brooke finds something or someone that makes her happy (as long as it’s not Lucas as anything more than a friend….Sorry I’m on Team Leyton).

Awesome episode! Im actually happy that it’s 2 weeks away because Im going to a Carrie Underwood concert next Monday night, so its perfect that they are skipping a week!
And HOW did nanny carrie wake back up after Dan “killed” her?!? I was a little confused with that scene!

to me when she handed him the book in the bar, it showed him look at the title for a second THEN start to say something… i don’t know… i just wanted to hear what he had to say! i mean i don’t think he would have said sorry and all that other stuff… he already said that! maybe i’m reading too far into it, it just made me wonder.

and Michelle… i’m sure Leyton will be fine!!! i’m a Lindcas fan… but i have to be honest and admit that this was her first episode for this season… and yeah there were some mixed signals… but they HAVE to make it dramatic because it was her big return ya know?? i’m personally hoping there’s more to Lindcas, but i think we all know him and Peyton will be fine

Ok- Tutor wife here giving my thoughts on the epsiode… I would like to first say THANK GOD nanny carrie is gone! even though we all know that after the glass to the head and the shot to the stomach should have killed her instantly but for show’s sake of course they had to have Dan shoot her in the head lol… I loved my leyton scenes even though there were very little but i don’t mind… I liked when Lucas got firm about the wedding date… yes devotion to Peyton… love it! However, I have this to say and I don’t like saying it because I am a very devoted Leyton fan and it saddens me to say this but whe Lucas read the inscription that Lindsey read It made me think this is not over… We all know that Mark is going to create drama with Leyton as he should and this is why I believe there is still no closure… Helllooo she was like I love you, I’ll miss you and I’m proud of you??? Ok so of course we all know when Lucas gets home Peyton is going to find the book and read this and feel?? We all know how she is going to feel… this is why I am saddened
But I did like how Lindsey took it and I respect how she handled it.
I am excited to see Nathan get back into basketball! Haley of course kicked butt and so did Deb! My leyton fans don’t think I am worried because I am not but I knoe you are all thinking the same thing! LindcasFan I know you are happy right now lol! Wow this is a long post from me… I love you all and I enjoyed this epsiode!

ok so i’m a little confused… the end where Carrie wakes up is a little far fetched or were they just trying to show that Dan was following through on his word??
And i like Michael’s acting its just i don’t like LL at all and i think it would be really dumb for him to cheat on Peyton plus i don’t think Lindsey would do that.

The phone call between Lucas and Peyton, I think, was showing that this is it for Lucas and Peyton. This is the forever love. It was like when my friend was trying to decide if he should ask his girlfriend to marry him. I was like, dude, is she the one you HAVE to tell first thing when something good happens and when something bad happens. When you first wake up in the morning is she the one you want to talk to - that you are bursting to hear her voice?
Peyton just had to tell Lucas this guy might be her father. It didn’t matter if he was in a meeting, she just had to. It was kind of a nod to him calling her, even though they hadn’t spoke in a year, when he was out in LA for his first book tour. He just had to see her, wanted to tell her. Unfortunately they were at two different places then.
Now, they are on the same page, if you will. And are able to share everything with each other. And FINALLY Lucas is keeping his word, he is being selfish with Peyton. He can’t change the Chicago date, he WON’T change the Chicago date, because Peyton found a wedding date and the are getting married. End of story.

Lucas is not going to cheat on Peyton!! Mark is just creating drama!! Oh yeah I forgot something… that was not very nice what Mick Wolf did to Peyton he should just be man enough to admit that he is her father, yes it may be hard but come on!! There is no need for that!

yeah that’s true… even IF Lucas realized he made a mistake about Peyton, and still wanted Lindsey (notice i said IF) … who says that Lindsey would go back to him now?? i mean he just told her that he proposed to Peyton AGAIN. i don’t think she’s that stupid.
but yes tutor wife… i’m very happy lol. and not even because i think something might happen with Lindcas… i was just happy to see her again period. i just love her acting and think she brings a lot to the show

I thought Mick was being so selfish when he did that. especially to someone like peyton who has been through so much in her life. but I do think that he will come around, oh and by the way I can’t wait for some good spoilers to come along for this next episode.

oh that’s kinda something else that made me think something will happen between Leyton. when she called him and she said you always make me feel better, he just sat there. i mean that’s just kind of how this whole episode was i think. it was her looking at him in the bed when the show came on, it was her getting excited about the wedding date and making the dress, it was her calling him to tell him she loved him… and the whole time Lucas was just kind of quiet. i don’t know… i’m not SAYING that they’re gonna break up at all… i’m just saying it’s kinda starting to look a little one sided??

yeah of course he looked happy! but i feel like ESPECIALLY in that episode he was SO much more quiet about the whole thing than she was. i’m not denying that they’re happy together… but i feel like since the premiere Lucas is kinda starting to drift a little. it definitely looks stronger from Peyton’s side

yea i agree plus lucas has never REALLY faught for peyton so maybe we’ll see some of that this season.
and i think he was apprehensive about seeing Lindsey because i do think he was in love with her and you dont just FALL out of love especially that fast.

yeah i agree with all of that… i guess i’m just waiting to see if he “fights” for Peyton and defends them a little bit more… especially when it comes to Lindsey. i haven’t seen him do that yet and if i was a Leyton fan i wouldn’t be satisfied till he did

I agree P. Sawyer! I know Lucas is excited but he couldn’t show it around Linsdey that would be a a-hole thing to do! Of course her words would affect him… I’m sure he did love her at one point but it wasn’t the kind of love he feels for Peyton. Lindcas Fan you are right when Lucas was with Lindsey it was a different kind of relationship… She was mature, classy and all of those things… He liked it, it was different from Peyton. Lucas is excited about the wedding he is but doesn,t want to show it to lindsay because he doesn,t want to hurt her more than he did in the past he treat her badly and knows she deserved better than that. And Lucas with Peyton his a total different guy yes he is selfish and wants to marry peyton but he is not going to act like a total ass toward Lindsay and lie her face. He was being honest with her neutral style like i’M getting married I can’t for the chicago date thats it.
and I haven’t watch the epi but I think that when he looks at the book he rememeber her telling him that she wish she was his comet and thats it’s an epic love story it just wasn,t “ours“.

Didn’t you catch what was said at the beginning of the ep in voiceovers. When Lucas said, as the camera was on Lucas and Peyton, about life being measured by who you are with and who you love?
There was always a quietness about Lucas and Peyton and their love for each other. And now that both of them are together it is like all is karmically right with the world. Did you see the sun shining through the window on Peyton when she came into C/B and told Brooke she and Lucas set a wedding date? Did you see how bright the kitchen was when she was fixing tea that morning and Lucas came in?
Peyton has the love of her life, she is getting married and her professional life is thriving as well.
Lucas couldn’t write word one without Peyton around and his success as a writer was in jeopardy. Peyton comes back and he fights his love for her and his world spirals out of control. Now he faces his true feelings, the world is brighter, his book is published and they are setting him up for success.
It is all about the world righting itself. And when the world is right, with two people who are meant to be together finding each other, then they can face any outside source that tries to tear them apart.

I think Peyton looking at Lucas while they were in bed is showing someone that can’t believe they are getting all their dreams coming true. Lucas, a wedding and a family.
It is hard for Peyton to be happy. It is a strange feeling for her. Just like mose Lucas and Peyton fans we are waiting for the sky to fall.
I am sure in the back of her mind, Peyton is still in shock she is getting her dream.
Lucas? Well, Lucas is a guy. We may say we love his poet soul and his amazing voiceovers but he wasn’t throwing roses and jumping up and down when he was marrying Lindsey either. He was too busy writing his book and chasing after Peyton.
I think we are seeing a Lucas who is content. His world, as I said before, is righted. He loves Peyton, Peyton loves him. He picked a team, he is being selfish with her and they are both happy.
It is hard for Lucas to be selfish. I think his mind, that morning, was already on seeing Lindsy again. Not because he had undying love for her but because Lucas hates confrontation and he was dreading it.
But, say what you will about his un-excited nature. If he wanted anyone else he would have called them at the airport. But he called Peyton. And it was her he went running to when she showed up.
Lucas and Peyton don’t need forced loved scenes like we saw between Lucas and Lindsey. All we need is a look. And what a look.

Why would anyone want a person with Lucas when he can never be faithful to them? No matter who he is with it always comes back to Peyton. ALWAYS!!!
I think Lucas is being cautious. Kind of testing the waters. What do you do when all your dreams come true? What does the hero do when he gets his dream girl? When his dream girl tells him she loves him.
Can you imagine what it must be like for Lucas. To have this girl you have been in love with all your life come to you and say she is in love with you. And then you ask her to marry you, she says someday, you hear no and then move on with your life. But did he move on or try to forget? And then the girl comes back. Lost, alone, scared, looking for guidance in your life. Just when you are lost, though people think you are found with your girlfriend Lindsey.
Then Lucas is standing at the crossroads. Peyton is back but his heart is stiill bleeding and there is Lindsey. She is easy and she will never break his heart because she never really owned it.
Then the comfort blanket is gone when Lindsey leaves him at the alter. But there is Peyton. It is always Peyton. He was looking for a sign. He was chasing Lindsey with his head but his heart was leading him in another direction.
Until the compas of his heart lead him to the rivercourt, read Peyton’s words and lead him back to her.
I think Lucas is just as stunned about him and Peyton as she is. But he is a different man since finding his way back to Peyton.
And I agree, I think unfortunately, it is still on Peyton to prove her love for him because he is still gunshy. Notice in 6×01 in the Vegas Chapel she was telling him she didn’t care what it looked like, she just wanted to be his wife. It was her telling him yes, yes, yes. To make sure he didn’t hear a hint of uncertainty in her voice.
Lucas and Peyton will be fine. I don’t need Lucas jumping up and down. I just need to see Lucas waiting at the end of the church aisle as Peyton walks toward him, and I need to see him slip that ring on her finger. Then all will really be right with the world.

Thank God that stupid Nannie Carrie storyline is over. Would not have killed Mark to put in more Naley scenes though but I am patient and I can wait. Peyton looked absolutely beautiful in this episode
I think Brooke finally tells Peyton about her attack in the next episode and hands out to Michela, that chick is soo cool. I felt quite bad for Lindsay but I am happy that Lucas seems to be solid in his decision that Peyton is the one

Lets not forget that Q died and so Lucas was not going to be all crazy excited over anything during that time. This is the 1st episode that really has not revolved around Q’s death and Lucas was going to talk to Lindsay about this. He couldn’t act all crazy. I think that Lucas is just as happy as Peyton is. Lucas is not the type to run around and act all girly over the wedding. Leyton is just find!! And when Lucas comes home and finds out that Mick(peyton’s real father) stood her up he will have to be there and support her through that.
And as far as the preview for next week, I am really happy that it looks like Brooke is going to tell peyton what happened!!

OKAY… here’s MY opinion about this episode! as much as i LOVE Leyton, i can’t sit here and deny the fact that this episode WAS one sided as far as Lucas and Peyton go. HOWEVER, i’m not necessarly going to freak out and jump to conclusions and start assuming that it means something, because as of right now, i’m not convinced that it does. As other people have already said, ofcourse Lucas isn’t going to be acting excited about the wedding in this episode. Other than his first scene with Peyton, he was with Lindsey during the entire episode, so no, just out of respect, he wouldn’t be acting excited about it infront of her.
I think Lucas’ actions, as far as the wedding talk goes, in the previous episodes, AND earlier this episode speak for themselves. Even in the beginning of this episode, he told Peyton that he would marry her “right here, right now”, and when she said they have a date, he said “that soon? that’s GOOD, that’s GREAT,”. Just because he’s not running around to his friends, jumping up and down, doesn’t mean he’s not happy about the wedding.
And as far as Lucas’ actions towards/about Lindsey go… Mark is just bringing drama to the show. I don’t know if you noticed, but EVERY action on Lucas’ part in this episode was written in a way that the audience could take it in two different ways, and i think Mark did that on purpose. Mark knows that the audience sees what we want to see, and he’s said all along that he’s going to try and make ALL the different couple fans happy. So in scenes like when Lucas read the message Lindsey wrote him, and smiled… from a Lindcas perspective, that could be taken as him thinking about Lindsey and his feelings that he still has for her… But from a Leyton perspective, it could ALSO be taken as him smiling about the fact that he knows he’s finally gotten closure, and is able to move on with his life. The whole episode was like that, so Mark was clearly just trying to bring some drama in, and make people THINK/WONDER a little. He’s not just going to make the storyline as easy as Lucas going to see Lindsey, and him showing that he has absolutely NO feelings left for her, and him defending his and Peyton’s relationship to no end… what fun would that be?
We all know i’m a die hard Leyton fan, so i do still think that they are going to be endgame. and i say that just simply based on the fact that at this point, i don’t think him being with anyone else would make as much sense as him being with Peyton. However, i’m not dismissing the “signs” in this episode at all. I do acknowledge that it did appear to be one sided, but i’m also going to need to see more than just this ONE episode before i start making assumptions about Lindcas/Leyton. And i also want everyone to consider the fact that like i said, every single one of Lucas’ actions tonight could be interpreted in Lindcas’ favor, OR in Leyton’s favor. So Leyton fans, don’t freak out yet! we’ll just have to wait and see what happens… i do think that it is too early to be making any assumptions though! GO LEYTON

people are crazy to think lucas and peyton will last. lucas and lindsey ending things what 2 months ago? and then he proposes to peyton out of nowhere after being dumped by his fiance? can you say rebound? they are both in lala land right now and hopefully they will realize they don’t belong together. ya they loved each other when they were 17 years old. they are like 22 now, things change. obviously there love isn’t strong enough to where no other person could come between them.

my reaction to the episode? finally some leyton scenes, it was worth the two week wait. lindsey…yeah she handled it well and was mature, but i dont care, leyton is meant to be so i was way happy to hear her admit the same thing, it was nice to have lucas tell her about the wedding and now, at least to me, there is no doubt about the leyton wedding. as far as peyton’s dad, i think that now that peyton and lucas are together and that one thing is not up in the air, maybe the next episode will be peyton’s opportunity to show that she can handle someone not being there for her. “people always leave,” and now she is mature and grown up enough to deal with it, and maybe he will come back a few episodes later. as far as everything else, i do think they kind of spoiled us on showing so much of the haley/jamie/psycho carrie thing by showing so much of what was such a small part of the episode. it would have been far more shocking and thus exciting to not give us a clip of it at all. based on last week’s preview, i thought it was going to be tonight’s cliff hanger of whether or not nanny carrie finally got her evil claws into jamie, once and for all. however, i am NOT complaining that she is (i am assuming, here) DEAD, once and for all. brooke is slowly coming around, glad for that…overall great episode, i am unpatiently awaiting the leyton wedding!!!!

Lindcas fan i think it’s more that lindsey was accusing him for loving peyton the whole of s5 its why she abborted the wedding etc, but he had denied it endlessly even though we could all see it was true, So after lindsey decided to tell him she did truely miss him bla bla he was obviously going to be abit apprehensive as to how it was all going to go down Lol.
The thing she wrote in the book was goodbye, hense the i’ll miss you, and i think lucas has that look as peace and closure.
Yes peyton is happier, but all she wanted throughout s5 was lucas, he destracted himself pretty well. However you cannot say Lucas isn’t happy he was jumping on a bed- (any of that with lindsey) the soulmates and meant to be ‘ness has already been shown throughout the first 4 seasons, people who are married in real life don’t demonstrate how perfectly right for eachother they are, they just settle and i think that’s whats happening. It’s calm atm, ofcourse because of Lucas attitude last year us leytoners struggle to believe what comes out his mouth, because he hit lindsey with so much bullshit last year, with us knowing he subconsciously wanted peyton!

Well here are my thoughts about last night…great show as always I mean oth is getting better if thats possible I mean it was aready awesome…minus the ending with nanny carrie that was far fetched I mean oth is not a horror show lol…but seriously nathan I felt so sad for him when he was asked to coach not play even though I think coaching would be better for him I don’t want to see him getting hurt but still it was sad… and Brooke giving up her company sad…but millie is back and I know things will be good again for brooke she’ll be successful again…because shes the one with the talent not victoria..and poor sam sleeping in car sad…I feel sad for peyton being let down by mick not showing up for her dinner she seemed so happy he was coming..I don’t know what to say about LL except my chad looks so hot lol…even though I think they went a little over the top with nanny carrie at the end it was great I liked how deb came out and smashed the bottle in her face go deb…and then dan shot her awesome I wish poor Jamie did’nt have to be there though poor kid…I can just tell this season is gonna be great sucks we have to wait 2 weeks for the next episode…

Okay, I’m going to hurt or offend a lot of none LP fans here but I have to make my point.
LP is not 1 sided, because 603 what Lucas said wouldn’t make sense for one. Because he was mostly worried about him and Peyton not talking about their Wedding, let alone Q or Brooke weren’t even on his mind, making sure Peyton didn’t feel forgotten was the first thing (not saying he wasn’t about Q but in that 1 LP scene showed that he was still think of her). They weren’t even a thought, so people saying Lucas is not into the wedding, well you’re wrong there.
Peyton’s phone call to Lucas was exactly like what he told her in his room in 603. His was “You help me so much, without saying a word, I love you.” “Peyton - I love you” in 603, Peyton’s was “I always feel better when I get to talk to you, I love you, thanks.” “Lucas - I love you too.” in 605. So yeah, Lucas is really not into Peyton. Please! are you serious?
Another thing, the bar scene with Lindsey giving Lucas the Book was a trow back to 505, when they met in that same Place, and Lindsey said “That sucks, I was rooting for them”. She said the excat same thing again in 605. What Lucas was going to say about the “Comet” was that he denyed that the Book was a “love story” in S5 that all the book was about was a Scientist and a Boy who saw a comet. lol! Basically what Lucas was saying now was “Sorry” to Lindsey before she stop him, was that he was saying. YES, the book is a “Love Story” and that it is what you think it is, because she knew what he was apologizing for, that’s why she stop him and said “I told you the first time we met here that I was rooting for the couple in the book”.
Also convincingly the cover of the Book is the River Court (what did Peyton draw on the RC again?) I love how Mark connects the two, even thou it doesn’t make sense how Lindsey or the publishing could have known to use RC as the cover for the Book (Mark thinks he’s clever with that lol!) So basically his “Comet” came back in 518 standing on RC (hint)….
Also the LP phone call wasn’t weird at all because Lucas knows Peyton and he figured out just by her voice that something was wrong. LP are like that, just like in the Kitchen scene Peyton knew something was off from his “that’s quick.” LP don’t need big gestures or 24/7 love dovey sayings. They just know it and feel it. They are not BL/LL when Lucas had to keep proving to his GF that she had nothing to worry about or trying to stop her from being insecure because Peyton is not like that. She wasn’t even threaten by Lindsey because she doesn’t need to be. She could have gotten all mad and whatnot but she doesn’t because again she’s not Lindsey or Brooke. Peyton knows Lucas love for her (not saying Li or B didn’t know but they were always insecure). Lucas looked at what Lindsey wrote him was like a relieve that he didn’t need to feel guilty anymore or that he can finally let go too and not worry about what to do with Lindsey situation or how awkward it would be. It was closure for them. It’s no difference from when Brooke told him in 401 that “she’ll always love him” or 408 their scene after the banquet. It was a let go or moving on period. Lucas saying in the bar that he never meant to hurt her than or now. Is him finally admitting it all with the book and him hiding his heart. It was his way of saying sorry for everything.
So I know people have their opinion. I just don’t like seeing people trying to downgrade LP. If people see it one way then see it the other way, because there are facts there too. I know people will see what they want to see. But all I’m saying is that LP having that understanding and knowing each other when something is wrong and when there isn’t, and when they need the other for some faith or comforting they show. So Lucas doesn’t need to be jumping on couches like Tom Cruise, he just needs to be him. And that’s what he’s doing. (also a bit of the offness in this Episode is also do to Chad’s acting, he did seem bored out of his mind in the LL scenes and he was only on set for 1 day (I think) filming these scenes or whatever, I did see the less effort on his part) But either way I didn’t find anything wrong with LP this Episode.
Anyways, hopefully people didn’t find I was too harsh or whatever. Just telling it like I see it, and it’s just IMO!

Lindsay can’t be pregnant…she was having a drink at the bar before she said goodbye to Lucas for good.
I thought the episode was good. I really enjoyed it I just wish the Nanny Carrie scenes were longer. But I really enjoyed seeing how they tied in the random Nanny Carrie and Deb scene from last week that seemed so random at the time.
Sucks there’s a two week break now…two weeks can’t go bye quick enough!

Ash, i agree! i didn’t really find anything wrong with LP either. HOWEVER, i can see that Mark purposely wrote the episode so that he wouldn’t disappoint Leyton OR Lindcas fans. As i said earlier, it was clear that all of Lucas’ actions could be viewed as in favor of Leyton OR Lindcas, and i think Mark was really smart to do that. But either way, like you said, based on what we’ve seen of Leyton in the rest of season 6… i’m going to need to see more than this episode before i start getting worried. Oh and jess… PEYTON IS NOT A REBOUND!!! how can you say that?? it’s more like EVERYONE ELSE he has ever been with was a REBOUND FROM PEYTON!! i hate to break it to you, but you donR
