Season 6 Episode 5 You’ve Dug Your Own Grave, Now Lie In It Review

So tonight was good. Not the heart-stopping ride I was expecting but it was good. Finally felt like there was actually movement in story lines instead of just setting up some. So here’s a few thoughts…

  • Glad the truth came out to Lindsey and glad to see she still supports Leyton. Was a little scared that was going to go down all wrong.
  • It was good once again to see a little bit of fire in Brooke. It’s small but there was a glimmer of hope with her and Millicent. I’m really excited to watch Brooke do what she did in all those years we never got to see but this time she’s smarter and wiser and stronger. It’s going to be good.
  • So Mick is her father. I doubt one person is surprised. And he’s still not grown up enough to handle it. But is Peyton strong enough to take him leaving her again?
  • I was honestly surprised at the GM’s offer to coach to Nathan. I was wondering how he got to this slamball thing and now it makes sense…the NBA thinks he’s too injured to play right now so he’s going to have to prove himself on a different court.
  • And the highlight of the episode was the Carrie storyline. My heart did stop for a second in that corn field with Jamie. I had no clue who grabbed him from the side but SO glad it was Haley. I actually really loved that Deb and Dan were the ones to save Jamie. Apart for so long yet working together in a way to keep their grandchild safe. I actually liked Deb and Dan together in early seasons and it was good to see them. In a crazy nanny, evil Dan sort of way I guess. Let’s murder someone together! Woot woot! Carrie got what she deserved and unlike Quentin I don’t feel remorse for her. I mean, I don’t like to see anyone killed but really, it was SO time for that to END. Not sure how much therapy Jamie’s going to need for that but at least he wasn’t hurt. Not sure my little heart could have taken that. I think they could have spent more time in the suspenseful part of those scenes. We basically saw it all and ruined it a bit for me. I thought we were going to be in a big hunt for Jamie for half the episode but they made it short and sweet. I think it hurt it a little bit if you ask me. Interesting to see how it gets spun to the cops. Technically Dan wasn’t threatened with his life that second time. Either they lie and say she was shot all at once or they let him off because all that had happened to him. Either way, I think Carrie’s dead and THAT is a good thing. End of Nanny Carrie’s storyline. Finally.

i was very satisfied with the episode
i thought it would have been more intense but in some ways im glad it wasnt
i felt as though naley had a good connection but they never have any good scenes together so does anyone kknow if there is a good one coming up?

  2. Christy Says:

Ok, I have to admit that I was slightly disappointed with the episode. There was just too much going on, especially seeing as where it was all leading with the big showdown at the end. But here are my thoughts:
~I was shocked when the GM asked Nathan to coach, but I’m glad that Nathan is determined to play again and not just settling for something he knows won’t make him happy.
~I thought Lucas was a bit harsh when he kind of screamed at Lindsey about the wedding. I’m not a Lindcas fan, but I still feel for the girl. It would suck to know that your ex-fiance was engaged to another girl, especially after he kept reiterating that he was in love with you and wanted you back and all that.
~No surprise that Mick is Peyton’s father, we all knew that. I just don’t understand why he won’t come out and say it. And I’m sorry, but Peyton needs new storyline aside from Lucas and finding new family members. There’s not many more family members she can find out about, is there? I mean, are we going to learn about a long lost sister next?
~I really wish Brooke hadn’t given up the company! Sure, she can start another one, but it won’t be COB. And Sam paying her bill at the end was really sweet. And she’s homeless, poor thing. I think Brooke will take her in and be sort of a mentor to her. Things will turn around for Sam, I can feel it. She’s this season’s “lost cause.” And I was glad to see Millie back again. I missed her.
~And finally, the finale! It was heart stopping, of course, but I thought it was a bit too short. I’m glad it wasn’t drawn out, but it just all seemed right on top of each other and everything just happened so fast. I was proud of Jamie for running the way he did, and was thrilled that it was Haley that snatched him up. And Deb saving the day, that was awesome! And then Dan shooting Carrie, not once, but twice. I’m just thrilled she is out of the picture for good. But I admit, I really wanted a Haley/Carrie smackdown!
~And even though I still hate Dan for killing Keith, he’s redeemed a little by the fact that he saved Jamie twice. It doesn’t change anything, but I hope Nathan and Haley ease up a bit, at least for Jamie’s sake. The man may be a murderer, but if it wasn’t for him, they wouldn’t have their son anymore.

ok to me…i loved this episode a lot of closure it seemed to me…lucas and lindsey…brooke and nannie carrie…i was sick of that…im glad lucas told lindsey…at first I was a lil scared…glad she said as she said before she was rooting for leyton…i mean she knew it was always leyton anyway…and sam must have lost some family can’t wait to see where this goes and I know it will involved brooke…nathan DOES NOT and I repeat DOES NOT need 2 be playing anybodies damn slamball with his back…if he does I see him right back in the damn wheelchair…and yeah mick might be peytons dad but she may not take to him very easily…we should of known that they would put her real dad in somewhere if they’ve found her real mom and brother…so she can have some closure as well to a family she had along and never knew…I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE WAY THEY MADE LUCAS BOOK COVER LOOK…THAT WAS AWESOME

so enjoyed this episode cause I thought everything would go wrong…with haley jamie carrie and dan but it didnt…Loved debs comment about she was saving that bottle for dans death…i died laughing and I’m glad they didn’t leave us hanging with something so serious as jamie getting kidnapped again 4 a whole 2 weeks glad it was closure…like amy said short and sweeet

I do agree this episode closed up loose ends. I am very glad Nanny Carrie story is over–it was getting old for me. I loved that Dan saved them. He is redeemed in my book. I feel for Peyton and don’t really see why her real father had to show up. I would of loved a story with her adopted Dad Larry showing up again. I so wished at the end when Peyton was by herself with her head down on the table that Lucas walked in from NY and just hugged her. I would have loved that but I did like the Leyton phone call. I was satisfied with the Lucas/Lindsay closure–yes we will probably see Lindsay here and there but am not worried about her at all. Looking forward to more Leyton scenes in the coming episodes–wonder when the wedding will be?

  5. james Says:

the episode was alright i wasnt to shocked about mick or dan killing carrie in the end that is if shes actually dead u never know with this show as for the whole lindsey thing she looked really good but still think her svu character is better even though theres only been one episode as for the whole sam and brooke thing is it just me or did they look like sisters maybe thats what they are trying to go for in this storyline im pretty sure brooke will end up takeing her in as for mille showing up with no mention of mouth was kinda random and weird all in all it was a decent episode not the best but it was still enjoyable

  6. Tutor Wife a.K.a LeytonOTH~Lucas: Peyton, you’ve helped me so much without saying a word. And I love you. Peyton: I love you. Says:

Christy- He probably didn’t mean for it to come out like that, he was a little bit mad that Lindsey was yelling at him about Chicago and he was frustrated because he knew how important this wedding is to him and peyton… that’s probably why he snapped… and of course he felt bad about it

  7. Danika Says:

I was mad about the Carrie part. We all knew it was coming from the previews, so it ruined it for us. I don’t really mind that it was at the end or anything, because it was short and it did the job. But the people who cut the preview (don’t know who does that, but I know it wasn’t OTH) totally ruined the whole show for me. It was like, during the whole show I was like “when are Jamie and Haley going to go to Carrie’s” and then finally 15 minutes left it happens..ugh
Peyton/Mick storyline is being too drawn out. It was like the Carrie/Dan one. Ugh.
I felt sorry for Nathan. I really did. I’m glad he makes the decision he’s going to. He’s too young to give up on his dream of playing. And he’s right he’s not most guys, he can already dunk a basket! I wouldn’t be surprised if in the finale, he gets a phone call that asks if he wants to play for the NBA.
I just realised something.. uh.. what happened to Chester? I know Carrie took him.. but where is he? They never went ANYWHERE with that. And then next episode he’s just going to appear out of no where.. like wtf? ugh.
Leyton was fine, I like small doses of it. Short and sweet.
I felt so sorry for Lindsey. No warning or anything just I’m getting married to Peyton. I was glad to see Lindsey though, after watching last season again and again, I LOVE Lindsey.

  8. LPtrue♥always™ Says:

:D OMG! When Deb came outta nowhere and hit Carrie with that bottle..AWESOME!! Got exactly what she deserved at the end.
:) I just knew Mick was gonna slip up he sorta did that in the last episode too. But Im mad he went back to his alchy ways instead of Man’in up and going to see Peyton for dinner.
:D I love the LP scenes. Esp the phone call when Peyton tells him..He makes her feel better when she’s feeling down.. Ahh just LOVE them!
:) Kinda felt bad for Nathan. bcuz he didnt see that come. but seeing what they were actually doing. I feel better bcuz that was a spinal cord waiting to he effed up again. so yeah Nate coaching FTW!
:D The Lindcas closure was good. And Im glad Lindsey was saying what I said all along. Wanting to be a Peyton in Lucas book.. sorry it wasn’t gonna work. and Im GLAD Lucas stood his ground about his Chicago/Wedding date. Selfish Luke is alright with me
:) Brooke and Peyton scenes were cool. I thought B was trying to tell P what was really going on with her, but she didnt know how to put it out there. and P with the Stephanie Seymour wedding dress was kinda weird.. hopefully it wont look like that.
:) And somebody please get this Sam girl in a secure home. And wasnt that Keith’s car shop or something? It was really weird. Wonder how they’re gonna know shes homeless..hmm.

But I really enjoyed this episode. :D

  9. letisha Says:

I have to start out by saying way to go nanny Deb and grandpa Dan. They saved Jamie and Haley from psycho Carrie. I am glad she is gone, and better not come back from the dead. I also think Brooke will end up in a better place after everything. She is the original creater of cob but with her talent and eye for fashion she can come up with a bigger and better company!!

  10. Rachel Says:

are we going to get some quotes from the ep? I usually don’t write them down cause they show up on here :)

  11. steph(leytonhellyeah) Says:

i think one thing, and maybe im way off here, but so far i havent seen anyone agree, is that the whole “mick not showing up to meet peyton” thing…it leaves open the chance for peyton to show her growth through her response to him not showing up. surely she is disappointed, but hopefully this time she can handle it, you know? that is the only reason i can see for her having multiple family members pop up every season or so. yes, she was adopted, but i really hope that they are trying to show, through her response to his absence, the personal growth she has gone through in the past four and a half year that we have not been privy to. and i am not saying that it would be ridiculous for her to be disappointed, i figure that part of the point of this storyline is to show that. but of course he has to come back at some point and admit that he is her father!
and also, how great was it to see deb smack nanny carrie over the head with the bottle? hilarious. my only question is, when dan shot her the second time, it looked like it was later and no one else was around, so did haley and jamie and deb just take off, assuming carrie was dead, and leave dan there?

  12. Leytonfan Says:

Amy i found this spoiler on http://www.tv.com: <>
i hate peyton’s father!!he is a jerk!!he made peyton cry!!!by the way what the hell is wrong with peyton’s parents?i mean her mother was a drug addict and her father is an alcoholic!!

  13. Leytonfan Says:

    6.09 (pretty sure of episode)
Hilarie filmed with Austin today. Peyton meets Julian for the first time as soon as she leaves Lucas’ book signing in LA. It’s a flashback- same outfit and hair from 5.02.

  14. ♥ Leyton=TLA...the only people that tear happy people down, are those that are unhappy. Says:

    Amy how were you surprised?
the Nathan and Bobby conversation was in the side that was released. :D

  15. Dena Says:

Well, hopefully the show can only get better from now on. So far I think it has been very disappointing, and it has been my all time favorite from season one.

  16. Leytonfan Says:

Dena why disppointing?it’s a great season in my opinion of course!!!!

  17. Amy Says:

I have been trying not to read every single spoiler even though I’m posting it all :). I guess that is one I was able to skim over….or my old brain didn’t remember!

  18. Leytonismycandy Says:

I was somewhat disappointed. I’m not really feeling this season yet and I want more romantic Leyton and Naley.

  19. Rhianna Says:

honestly, i thought the Nanny Carrie plot was a little too Texas-Chainsaw-massacre-ish for me, lol. I didn’t think they needed to take it THAT far, but I’m still glad that she’s gone for good.

  20. Selvia Says:

Good episode. Thanks for the “crazy-nanny”’s end and thanks for the Lucas-Lindsey end.
I was so sorry for Nathan: the situation was so sad and he was alone, nobody with him to confort… so sad. These are situations where a big brother had to be present but Lucas is always busy with girlfriends or basketball: he has never time for his brother

  21. Dena Says:

Leytonfan,,, Of course I mean disappointing just to me. I just like more interaction BETWEEN the original characters like Luke, Nathan, Peyton, Brooke and Haley. I do like Owen, Mouth and Millicent of course. I didn’t like Lucas and Lindsay together,,,,but I liked all the drama it created. I’m not in to the “violent” things like the Dan and Nanny Carrie stuff. I guess that’s over anyway. I want to see the “lovin”. And I want to see Brooke happy.

  22. Chiara Says:

I’m agree but it’s Mark Schwahn’s fault because he cut all the interaction beetween Lucas and Nathan and it shows Lucas selfish and only interested in his lovelife.
It seems like we are back at the beginning when the two brothers where strangers. I don’t like it. Lucas has always been there for Nathan; it doesn’t make sense his indifference for Nathan’s drama.

  23. Nat Brat Says:

My favorite quotes from last night and there were some good ones were:

    ” I hate the woods”
    “Who peed in your cherios?”
“Guess there is more than one crazy nanny in this town, Bitch”

  24. Steph Says:

soooooo is it possible at all to get some OTH quotes from any of the episodes….cuz ive been looking and i cant seem to find them anywhere….id really appreciate it

  25. Jennifer Says:

I never got a chance to get on here right after this episode aired. But dang it I feel special. The Mad Antz team that Nathan went to go see is in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The good old fort where I just so happen to live. I can’t believe they actually used our team in the episode. That’s awesome!! Just thought I’d share that with everybody. :-) Sorry fans for such a disappoining team. But still…Thanks Mark!!!

  26. jennifer Says:

Do you think Lucas and Peyton will get married?

  27. jennifer Says:

They really need to be in more scenes together. Lucas is going off to do a book signing.
