Pilot News: October Road Cutie Comes to America

Sorry, Hilarie ─ it looks like a certain “big lug” won’t be returning to One Tree Hill.
Bryan Greenberg, who also and most recently fronted ABC’s October Road, has landed one of the two leads in How to Make It in America, a comedy pilot for HBO. Victor Rasuk (Stop-Loss) fills the other spot, says the Hollywood Reporter.
Coproduced by Mark Wahlberg, How to Make It in America concerns a pair of industrious pals who live in New York while striving to achieve the American dream. Of course, here in the Big Apple that dream is “buying a lunch for less than $10.”

i had no where else to post this, but i thought it was very interesting
similarites between brucas and naley
Total opposites, for starters.
- Didn’t get together for the right reasons at first, but ended up falling in love. (Nathan only dated Haley to make Lucas mad, Lucas only dated Brooke b/c it was the easy way out)
- Haley/Lucas inspired a lot the changes we’ve seen in Nathan/Brooke
- Haley got a tattoo for Nathan, Lucas got a tattoo for Brooke
- Brooke was Haley’s maid of honor, Lucas was Nathan’s best man
- Brooke and Lucas are Naley’s child’s godparents
- BH wrote NL letters during the same summer.
- Haley didn’t understand Brucas. Lucas didn’t understand Naley.. [At first, anway]
- Brooke asked Peyton if she was cool with her and Lucas. Haley asked her the same thing about her and Nathan.
- Chris Keller screwed them over lol
- Rain speeches/fights/kisses. They used the same line about catching pneumonia. Nathan: I want you Haley, not Peyton. Lucas: I wanna be with you, not Peyton.
- They both had pregnancy scares..
- In 5×18, Lucas said that Brooke saved him and in 5×13 Nathan said that Haley saved him.
- They ‘resurrected’ on the same day, in episode 3×09.
- “Sometimes people play hard to get because they need to know the other persons feelings are real” (from S3, Brooke about Nathan & Haley, herself & Lucas)
- Purple is Naley’s color. Red is BL’s color. Brooke gave Luke a purple monkey. The NH wedding was purple and red. Basically, they have colors.
- Rachel went after Lucas while he and Brooke were “nonexclusive”, and she went after Nathan while he was with Haley.
- NH had their first scene together in 1×03. So did BL.
- They both took carriage rides.
- Nathan gave Haley a bracelet (’It’s for you’), Brooke gave Lucas a monkey (’This is for you’)
- At Luke’s wedding, they flashed back to Nathan and Haley talking about having kids. They also flashed back to Brooke and Lucas talking about the same thing.
- The characters on the show have used their couple names (Brucas + Naley)
- Brooke [3x22]: “Why won’t you ever just let me all the way in?” VS. Haley [4x03]: “I want you to let me in.”
- In S4, there is a scene where Haley tells Nathan that he is her hero. Then he gives her the bracelet, and tells her he loves her. In 5×18, Lucas tells Brooke that she saved him. Then she gives him the monkey and tells him she loves him.
- Nathan said he would give it all up [basketball] for Haley. Brooke said she would have given it all up [fashion] for Lucas.
- 1.08 Lucas said to Brooke “Call me if you need anything, ok.” The episode before that, Brooke read out Haley’s note to Nathan and it said, “Call me if you need anything, at all.”
- Lucas and Haley still loved Brooke and Nathan, all they had to do was take them back.
- “It’s not so easy getting back in the ring, especially with the one who knocked you out in the first place.”
- Chris said he envied Brooke for finding Lucas, someone to trust and confide in who won’t take advantage of it, like Haley found Nathan.
- Nathan (to Haley): I’m afraid to be vulnerable again. Brooke (to Lucas): I was afraid to be vulnerable.

I love what you wrote and everything, but it still doesnt change that no matter who Lucas was with Brooke/Lindsey etc; he couldnt hind his heart. He was always drawn back to Peyton. Like Brooke said, Lucas and Peyton were meant to be.

Brucas are where it’s at! I’ll never buy him with Peyton. He and Brooke weren’t corny and contrived, as I feel his relationship with Peyton is being forced on me. Brucas were always more natural- she brought excitment to his dull persona

I agree Tutor Wife. It is a shame that she puts her time and energy into this site and it gets abused.
I only help her post now and then, when she needs help, and it is a daunting task to keep news current here for everyone.
This is a great source of information. And it was here that helped me grow my podcast. In fact, I met Amy here and she was the one that talked me into doing the podcast.

Yeah, the only thing LAME around here is ALL THE FIGHTING. I realize no one will ever agree but this is definitely NOT a site made for everyone to argue Leyton against Brucas or even Lindcas OR EVEN Jeyton for that matter ON EVERY SINGLE POST. It gets so tiring seeing the same thing again and again. If you’ve stated your opinion on one post, no need to say the same thing again on the next.
How about this idea? You actually comment on what the post is about! Like let’s try this: It’s great to see that Bryan has gotten a great job. I’m really happy for him. I’m so glad/disappointed he’s going/not going to be on the show anymore. WHY CAN’T THAT SUFFICE?

Leyton=TLA, I love you and I know you have been a great contributor but you were just as much in the wrong as the other poster. Stooping down to someone else’s level makes you fit for banning just as much as the original person does. I don’t have time to ban people. The best thing to do is just IGNORE someone who is obviously being inconsiderate and rude. Thank you for your apology and I hope this does not continue. I AM able to turn off comments but I hate when forums do that and do not plan to do it. So. Let’s all be grown-ups or at least pretend to be even if you’re not and leave civil comments.

hell yeah Michaela rocks!!! haha i love her. but speaking of Michaela… she moved on to Law and Order as a regular, but is still appearing on OTH. so just because Bryan will be working on other jobs doesn’t necessarily mean that he won’t be back at all! we don’t even know when this show will start, could be after this season is over! i’m not losing hope for Jeyton yet! people can do more than one thing at a time, look at Michaela she’s got like 3 things going on!

Bryan was never going to come back to OTH, I don’t know how many ways the guy could have said it. He’s not interested in going back to “Teen” drama’s. He said to fans, in magazines, etc… I just think he wants to move on. Just like the current cast wants to move on soon…
Anyways, I’m really happy for him being on HBO! It’s awesome all my favs are on HBO, Entourage is the BEST!

so first of all, the fighting has gotten real old guys! this is a site about how much we love ONE TREE HILL not necessarily the couples! everybody has a right to their own opinion! and everybody should respect that! Like tutorwife said Amy does have another life other than this site but she has made this site and put her best to it for the fans! so be a bit more appreciative and respectful! everybody has got to remeber that amy doesn’t have to update the site or she could even shut it down but for the fans she keeps it alive! I am happy for Bryan. I loved him on One Tree Hill, I was a huge October Road fan (I still want to know who was the father of Sam….stupid ABC for canceling show) and I am a big fan of his music. I have several tracks on my iTUnes. I wish that Bryan would come back for a small part in an episode basically wrapping up story lines you know like where is Jake now…if this is going to be the last season (fingers crossed that it isn’t but ya know).

It really wouldn’t make sense for Jake to come back anyway, unless he came into town and accidentally runs into Peyton at the grocery store or something. I don’t see him seeking her out. I kind of knew the chances of him coming back was slim to none. Good luck to Bryan though! I hope he does well.

seriously, all the LeytonTLAers on here are seriously hypocrites. We all know this is an ALL LEYTON blog, but i just love the news that is posted on here. Its up to date and woderful. But seriously, when LEYTON is having their discusssions, its AWESOME! everyone comes in and can talk. But if brucas brings up a point, all you guys come in and start saying how we shouldnt be arguing. Someone needs to tell BrucasAlways how well she figured out thsoe AMAZING SIMILARITIES between Naley and Brucas, because she did, and they are absolutely right. Bia, get it girl! Your right. That list is just the list of similarities between the best couples on the show, not even a list of the best brucas moments! I bet if you compare the best Leyton moments and the best Brucas moments the lists would be very one sided.

Denise.. You are a good writer. Do you think he would really sign a binding contract w/o a lawyer? And if not a lawyer why would he need to wait for Peyton? And then why could he be so easily tricked into signing his book away, Julian is obviously going to take liberties; liberties Luke just agreed to or Julian would not think that he could take them. Hell he could of just sign away Peyton in the contract! Do you write for the rest of the cast or just Peyton and Luke?

PUCAS: a couple that makes peyton look the most pathetic which makes peyton look like she cares for no one but herself and she goes after what she gets until she gets it no matter who she hurts during the process to get to lucas. she doesn’t even respect lucas, nor herself. why would you want a girl with a guy who makes her look so pathetic going after him? and don’t bother countering back with some brooke comeback because as a lot of u say, brucas are just friends.
i don’t ship leyton because of how sad it makes peyton look that she’ll take lucas back no matter WHAT he does to her…including almost marrying another woman right in front of her eyes. with one beck ‘n call she comes runnin’ back to him

and amelie, its kind of harsh what you said about peyton. you could be nice about lol cmon now…but i also dont ship leyton, and its partly because of how lucas and peytons characters change because of them being together. i dont think that peyton is pathetic, its just sometimes it looks like both lucas and peyton are selfish together. peyton even said in one episode that she wants to be selfish with him or something. but anyways i ship brucas and always will…i promise myself to never watch oth if peyton and lucas get married. i just dont wanna watch a show if its not entertaining anymore. but yes hte similarities between naley and brucas ARE freakishly amazing I LOVE THEM!

I just watched an epi on the soap channel, the one after the boy toy one, the one where peyton says she would never do that to Haley.(cheating with nathan)5 episodes before she was cheating with Lucas. Alot is made of all of the bad choices that Luke, brooke and nathan made early in their lives and turned it around to become great people, but we have always been made to feel sorry for Peyton and to root for her. But to tell the truth most of what Luke didn’t like of what he had become had to do with what happen with Peyton, even Haley told him that. I’m not Peyton bashing, I guess I’m just trying to explain why I am a Brooke fan. All of the Peyton fans can not see our point of view on what us brooke fans
write about, but that is how I see it. I have been a Brooke fan since season one even though I know that Peyton is the leading lady.

ok I wasn’t going to say anything but this needs to stop…i feel so bad for amy…shes done such a great job here and even I’ve abused it…i don’t even come on that much anymore because of the fighting…yes us leytoners love our couple and brucasers love there couple…i don’t think its necessary for all the going back and forth I’m pretty sure most of us are adults and need to act like adults…this is a tv show…yes there were good points alwaysbrucas pointed out I have to admit… I love brooke and lucas…i love the whole cast for that matter…but u guys abuse ur opinions and then say leyton fans are hypocrites it not far…ur bashing leyton because they are together…if it was brucas none of u would have anything to say…i have never heard anyone say anything about brucas…but brucas fans always have negative things to say…this post was about bryan greenburg and u guys took it to left field…yes someone said things about leyton because peyton was with jake…and they rather her with lucas…so where did brooke fit into this nowhere…i don’t understand what the big deal is about the couples…its entertainment u guys are throwing the ball way out in left field…lucas is with peyton rite now…not saying it will stay that way but if it does…so be it…the past is in the past like it always is…look to the present and the future of the show…talk about issues now…im not saying switch sides but be a little bit more respectable to the people who took time out to invent such a wonderfuk site ya know…we’ve all sound really stupid arguing like high school kids over this and that…when in reality the ball is not in our court…its in MARKS and how he wants it to be

i love bryan greenberg.
I loved jeyton i stayed home from school today and watched season two and just watching jeyton made me happy. but i knew he wouldnt come back.
but maybe he’ll come back for atleast one episode!
Bryan is freaking hilarious though i watched the time capsule one with commentary with mark and bryan it was so funny!
Bryan is so talented and i know he’ll do well in anything he does(movies, tv shows, music)
way to go Bryan!
oh yeah and jake was so not boring!
he was raw cut and very honest, he was perfect.
i think he is hotter than chad by far.
is music is excellent by the way.
i love his cd!

i just have to say this because a lot of BLers think that on the next pisode brooke is goig to tell peyton that shes still in love with lucas
well, brooke is too good of a friend to peyton so i know she wont do that and im not saying i like leyton because honestly, they disgust me. but i will be SATISFIED if its mentiond in the show (brooke to her therapist) that brooke still loves lucas because that way we know that even though us BLers didnt get what we want, its because brooke has such a big heart…then ill love this show all over again. remember sacrifice is the greatest action taken when in love

Just curious, if Jake would come back (he wont, I know), why would it affect Leyton? I mean, Jake and Peyton didn’t work because she loved Lucas. It didn’t work then, why would it work now? And right now, Peyton actually is with the guy she loves and not mention been pining and wanting the whole season 5.

KJ, not to be offensive but lucas asked peyton to marry her once and she said someday, that didnt work out n now they are engaged but what makes you think it will work the 2nd time if it didnt work the first? theres always 2nd chances so if jake didddd come back, i wouldnt rule him out, besides jeyton were so adorable!!!
and yes peyton was pining for lucas in season 5 when he was with lindsay. but brooke could still be pining for him? anyways my point is that she WASNT pining for him when she was in la, she had some fling didnt she?
once again, ill say it, i think peyton only wants lucas when she cant have him its weird. I LOVE BRUCAS

wow amelia… i could not agree with you more! i swear, the comment you posted about Peyton coming off as pathetic sounds EXACTLY like something i’ve said before! it’s one thing to be in love, but no guy wants a girl who can’t function on her own. she is WAY too dependent on Lucas… it’s a real turn off to me as far as Leyton goes.
i feel like when she’s not with him, she’s a pouty little 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum. and no one wants little bratty kids to get their way! haha at least i don’t! that’s a major reason why i don’t like Leyton being together. i feel like if Lucas WANTS to be with her, he should come to her on his own… she shouldn’t go chasing after him when he’s with someone else. if it’s meant to happen, she needs to just LET it happen and stop looking so desperate. drives me nuts!

KJ i totally agree… Jeyton ended things for a reason… because she STILL LOVED LUCAS! and AlwaysBRUCAS, the only reason that Lucas’ first proposal to Peyton didn’t work out was because Peyton wasn’t ready to be engaged… but now she clearly is, they both are, so why wouldn’t it work out this time around?
and i just don’t really understand how anyone could think that Brooke is still in love with Lucas, or that she is “pining” for him. when they officially ended things in season 4, they BOTH acknowledged that the love just wasn’t there anymore… so why would that suddenly change now, when they haven’t been romantically involved at ALL since then? if that strong love wasn’t there between them then, i don’t know why it would randomly be there for Brooke now when they’ve been over in the show for 5+ years. i’m trying to see where Brucas fans are coming from when they say that she’s still in love with him… but it just doesn’t make any sense to me

LeytonTLA, ill tell you why i think brookes still in love with him and why all of us think Brucas are endgame. trust me what i have is good. but ill comment about this on a more recent post so everyone can read it =] and maybe understand our point of view. however, im gettin ready to go see canucks vs flames game tonight, my comment shall be up when i get home. you can count on that.
