Opening scenes of slamball practice. Nathan and Owen walk off and Owen tells him it’s different. Fast forward to the game and everyone is shocked how violent it is. Brooke heckles Owen from the stands. Sam sits with Jamie. Haley teases her and says it’s borderline creepy she’s hanging out with her teacher. Same seems interested in the game. Peyton introduces herself to Sam. She comments on her outfit. It looks similar to Peyton’s. Millie is there looking for Mouth. She has her eyes out for Mouth and Gigi. Lucas is on the phone in the hallway. He says I thought the book wasn’t doing well then says wow. Millie comes up to Mouth and Gigi. Gigi is admiring Mouths’ butt. He introduces them. Gigi tells him nice work. Mouth says they’re going back to the studio after the game. Gigi tells Millie she has awesome legs. Millie says he’ll see Mouth at home then kisses him before walking off. Gigi tells him not to trip on his short leash. Lucas comes in and says he got a call from his agent and someone made the rights to his Ravens book for a movie. The game continues. Owen blocks guys for Nathan and he makes a shot. Everyone cheers in the stands, especially Haley. Sam asks if he was just in a wheelchair. Haley looks worried.
Jamie wakes up Nathan and asks if he’s sore. Nathan says he’s fine and starts dancing. Jamie says the dancing is not so good but he looks fine.
Haley is reading b. davis in the kitchen. She says she’s reading an article and asks do we share this house 50/50 right? She asks how he is. He walks away from her and sees a bunch of bruises. Haley looks worried.
Peyton asks Lucas about the movie. He’s not sure b/c of what’s in there, especially about Keith. Peyton says whatever he decides is fine with her. She has to go and says she kinda likes him. He says I’m warming up to you to and it’s good since we’re getting married.
Brooke and Millie look over a dress in COB. Millie says Peyton will love it. Sam skates by and Jamie comes in. Jamie says Sam is her favorite girl. Haley comes in. Millie catches them up on the business. Brooke says she hasn’t been inspired lately. Haley says I think Owen looked nice last night right Millie? Millie says yeah, what did you think Brooke? Brooke says Jamie is getting on her nerves. She gets on Jamie and Sam for skating in the store. Brooke asks Jamie over for the night and says it will be nice to have a man in the house. Haley says speaking of Owen looked hot last night right Millie? Millie says yes, what did you think Brooke? Brooke says I don’t like either of you right now.
Lucas sits on his porch and Julian comes up and introduces himself and says he’s interested in his book. He says he’s just passing through to New York and wanted to get a feel for the people and places. He says the book is great. He must feel ambushed but when he’s inspired he becomes driven. He says he’ll be in town for the night and if he’s feeling it, they’ll grab a drink together.
There is a trumpet playing at a military presentation. Derek is getting a medal. Peyton comes up afterwards and says she missed him. He takes her away.
Mouth and Gigi are at the studio. They talk about Nathan’s video. She continues to call him flattering names. He asks her to stop. As he leaves he says it’s nice working with her again.
Nathan makes pancakes when Lucas comes in. Nathan says he has a list of guys to play him in the movie. Nathan thinks it’s cool. Nathan asks about the producer. He says he seems good but there’s so much left undone. Nathan says you want pancakes now. Lucas says Shia LaBoeuf is too old to play him. Lucas asks about the game. Nathan says it’s fine. Lucas says let Haley know it will be fine. Nathan asks what Peyton says about the movie. Lucas says it’s fine. Nathan says what about Brooke? Lucas is shocked.
Peyton and Derek walk in a cemetery. She said she was surprised at the invitation. Derek asks about their father. She says not much of a father. He says one time he asked him to play for something and he never got back to him.
Haley and Jamie lay flowers at Quentin’s grave. They talk about Q playing ball and how Haley thought he was bad at first but he really had a good heart. They agree he’s happy in heaven.
Lucas goes to see Brooke at COB. She tries to cover the dress she was making for Peyton. She wonders if he wants a tux. Lucas asks about the movie. She says I guess you’ll be getting a snot from The CW but at least they’re hot. He asks if it’s ok. She says sure why not? She says she’s making her dress and that’d be a good way to end it and she could play herself. He says the dress looks great, you’re talented. She says you’re talented yourself.
Mouth and Gigi interview Nathan. Gigi continues to call Mouth names. She says she’s talking to Nathan. Nathan tells Mouth he learned don’t flirt with women that aren’t his wife.
Owen comes in. He wants the interview. Nathan says he can hook him up. He says I’d rather have Brooke. Nathan says of the 100 things you screwed up, Brooke is 1-99. His hair cut is the other. Or the drug addiction.
Jamie is at Brooke’s with Sam. Nathan goes to see Brooke to talk to her about Owen. He’s standing right beside him. Brooke tells him not to be so 7th grade. She closes the door and tells Owen. Owen knocks on the door so talk to her.
Jamie watches Sam sneak out the window of her room. She asks if he wants to go to the party. Sam takes Jamie out the window with her. She seems thrilled with the risk.
Peyton and Derek go to the gym where there is a boxing ring. She says she has purpose and someone that makes her feel special. The pain in her past was worth it and doesn’t matter anymore. Peyton says she knows Mick wasn’t a father but he did well and maybe that pain doesn’t matter anymore. She says she has to leave but she has connections and wants to know if he wants her help with the USO show. He gladly accepts and they leave.
Lucas gets ready in his room and Haley comes to see him. Haley asks about the movie. He says he’s going to meet someone about it. She wants Ella Page. He asks about slamball. Haley says she can barely breathe. Lucas says he wants it but he’s going to do it smarter this time.
Lucas goes to see Nathan at Tric. He always wanted to see Tric. He says he can’t get his story out of his head. Lucas says the story is really personal. Julian wants him to write the screenplay. Six figures for the script and the movie made. He asks if Peyton was in LA. He says actually he’s in Tree Hill and they’re engaged. He says everyone loves a happy ending. Julian tries to convince him.
Haley plays piano at home and Nathan walks in and wants to hear. Nathan makes funny faces. She says I can’t play with you making faces. He says neither can I and says he’s fine at slamball. Haley says she was thinking of a massage but if he’s ok…Nathan says maybe you can carry me upstairs. They fall on the floor together.
Owen and Brooke talk at her house. He says he made a mistake. He was into her. He says he was an idiot. He’s definitely uncomfortable. Millie walks in and says the nosy neighbor says someone broke in. She says let me get my gun and tell Sam to watch Jamie. She finds them gone and they all go to COB and there is a party with skating, drinking and Jamie playing. Brooke yells at her. She sees that Peyton’s wedding dress is gone. They all freak out. A guy has it on with spray paint all over it. Millie tells everyone to get out. Owen stops the music and gets everyone out. Sam tells Brooke she’s sorry and Brooke walks in the back.
Lucas and Julian play pool. He gives him producer credit and then convinces him to sign it. He says he has 6 months to do everything and then everything goes back to him if he doesn’t follow through. Julian says they’re going to get drunk and it will go down as an epic day. He says he has to call Peyton. Julian says for her to come meet them.
Everyone is cleaning up COB. Brooke and Jamie talk. Brooke says he should have told her he was leaving. Jamie says Sam isn’t bad. Brooke says she’s not sure. He says she’s like Q..nice but afraid to show it.
Mouth and Gigi are at the studio. Gigi is leaving and she invites him for drinks. Mouth says no thanks. Gigi says she had a great day with him…he better get back to his ball and chain. He gets a text when she leaves from Gigi that says Sexy.
Haley sits on Nathan’s back and massages him and they talk about slamball. He says it will be fine.
Lucas and Julian continue to play pool. Julian leaves to make a call. Peyton walks in and Lucas greets her and she goes to wash up.
Brooke comes home to find Sam crying and cleaning the dress. She says she’s really sorry. She’s not worth her help. Brooke says you’re not going anywhere and you’re grounded and sends her to her room. Sam apologizes to Jamie. Jamie says the dress is kind of cool.
Peyton runs into Julian. Julian says you’re more beautiful. She asks why he’s here. He says I’m here optioning your fiance’s book. She says like hell you are. He says I’m smooth and it’s already done. Lucas walks up and says looks like you two have met. Julian says yes and it feels like I’ve known her for years. Peyton watches as they walk away together.

I’m a little confused now that Nathan made the comment about Lucas’ book being half about Peyton and half about Brooke.
When did that happen? I thought Ravens was supposed to be a love letter to Peyton, wasn’t that made clear in season 5?

Can someone explain the Julian scene to me. I didn’t recognize him from previous episodes and it seems that he has been in one according to the convo between peyton and him.
Who is he and why does he know peyton.
is he going to screw over lucas and the movie?

Nice recap! This was an enjoyable episode with much of the cast mixing it up with each other and the intro to the mysterios Julian. Did anyone know before this episode that half of the Raven’s book is suppose to have been about Brooke? That was the first I’ve heard of this since last season it was referred to as a love letter to Peyton. I get the feeling the mention that half of the book is about Brooke will lead to bigger story, I’m thinking quadrangle with Lucas/Peyton/Julian/Brooke. I think Julian is going to purposely try to drive a wedge between Lucas & Peyton because he dated Peyton and wants her for himself. And in the process will probably push Lucas towards Brooke. I had read recently that the producer/director for the book will want to change the ending of the book for the movie and that is where we may see them want to change it to where Lucas ended up with Brooke, by doing this Julian could plant a pea-size seed in Lucas’s pea-size brain about how things could have been with Brooke if they didn’t break up and that’s when he may realize that he never really stopped loving Brooke, it may have been buried in his subconscious. And Julian is going to be pulling the strings from behind, playing on their jealousies and insecurities, etc. He’s going to be bad news I can see it already, but it will add for some exciting storylines. He’ll want to date Brooke to make Lucas jealous and maybe get some info from Brooke he can use, maybe about the 86 letters, etc.
I can honestly say that I don’t care for Leyton over Brucas or vice versa, however, after watching all the seasons numerous times I truly believe that after Peyton was introduced they tested the waters with Hilarie and Chad and not much chemistry there, in comes Sophia Bush and her & Chad had amazing chemistry so they go with the Lucas/Brooke pairing and Peyton/Jake, who also had great chemsistry. The break-up of Lucas/Brooke in S1 was just paving the way for S2 & S3, with Lucas realizing he still loved Brooke and trying to and winning her back in S3. Now S3 was suppose to be the first half of the senior school year and S4 the second half of senior year. No way in hell did Lucas Scott go from “your the one for me Brooke Davis” “the difference is I love you not Peyton” “I can stand here all night in the pouring rain and tell you why I love you if you want me to” “Brooke’s the one I see standing next to me when all my dreams comes true”. All these wonderful things he said and did to show her how much he loved her and boom by the second half of senior year (S4) we are suppose to believe he woke up one morning and realized he loved Peyton and that he and Peyton are end-game? NO WAY and believe me I do not want Lucas with Brooke, I really don’t care who he ends up with, but my point of this long-winded comment (Sorry so long) is that I just never saw the Peyton/Lucas end-game epic love-story connection. Peyton and Jake maybe yes and Lucas & Brooke yes, but the whole 2nd half of S4 with Peyton dumping Jake for Lucas and Lucas realizing it’s Peyton….okay all of that was done for one reason and one reason only….to accomodate the real-life breakup of Chad & Sophia and the fact that it was too hard for them to have anymore love scenes with kissing, etc. I know they were broken up in most of S3 and did have scenes together, but they began getting scarce towards the end of the season where they were still together onscreen but not many scenes with the both of them in the same scene AND it was too difficult for the actors and was creating much drama on the set. The only way to calm the waters on that set was to break-up Lucas & Brooke and give them both new love interests. If it weren’t for their real life break-up I truly believe their characters would still be together, but with many obstacles throw their way in these last few seasons, like what a normal couple would have to go through together, but that couple would have been Lucas & Brooke, no doubt in my mind whatesoever.

Yea, that was the first time they said that about half the book being about brooke, So did he write that part while he was with brooke or in hindsight? Did Brooke even read the book? – I guess I was wondering why Julian would come to town and be Brooke’s new love interest if he was Peyton’s ex. The scene with Lucas in the store with Brooke did not seem like they were doing the scene at the same time, just me?

can’t stand the Brathan interaction. You would think that Mark could just stick to storylines but no he has to bring in some big friggin Brathan friendship just because they are dating in real life doesn’t mean that he has to completely playdown the Naley relationship!! It is insulting to us Naley fans and I for one am pissed off!!!

I think if Nathan is going to be walking around the house with out a shirt on they should have a scene where nice and quiet school teacher hot mamma just totally can not help herself any longer and takes what is hers!

half the book is about Brooke since when, even Brooke said to peyton, the guy wrote an entire book about how much he loves you. So that just doesn’t make any sense to me. I know in some sense the book talked about everyone but they had us thinking that the love story was between LP. Are they going to start another love triangle between BLP again, That is so old. But wait isn’t Owne back in the picture, and now julian, what the hell… Are they going to break up leyton now that there will be a season 7?
And yes they are playing down the Nealy relationship. There they go again, isn’t that what happen with peyton and lucas in season 1, chad and sophia dating and suddenly the storyline changed in the show, then chad and sophia broke up then the storyline change back to leyton. I don’t understand why off screen relationships as to play a role in the show. You know there was nothing memorable in this episode but I liked the Lucas and Haley moment, it was cute. I also like how broke handled sam. And broke was totally heart broken over the dress.

Okay there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Brathan interaction lately, they are friends, she is his son’s godmother and he is her best friend’s husband, they are all like family and it would make sense that they would see each other once in a while. And even back in prior seasons they had a little interaction here & there each season. I think everyone is reading too much into it now that they know the two are a couple in real life they think Mark isn’t sticking to the scripts, hello but Mark writes most of the scripts so if he writes that in the script and they act it out then I would say he’s sticking to his script. I think all the characters should have some interaction with each other at some point in each season. Last year we had a few Brathan scenes, in season 4 again a few and many more in the earlier seasons so I don’t understand why all the drama because these two actors have some scenes together lately, which last all of two minutes. So they are dating in real life, it doesn’t mean a Brathan scene is foreshadowing of a Brathan hook-up so everyone calm down and take a deep breathe and relax. No one is gonna mess with Naley, they are the epic end-game love story of this show, not that snoozefest of a couple Leyton!
And Nimkong, I agree, I noticed in the promos of Brucas scene at her shop that most of that scene was filmed with a fill-in for Brooke, whenever Lucas spoke we would see the back of a head that looked to be wearing a wig resembling Brooke and then when Brooke it was like she was facing the camera, only at the beginning of the scene did we see them in the same room together, otherwise the rest looked to be filmed without them both there at the some time with either fill ins or just each one acting invididually and they cut & splice to make the scene when done. Either they had a scheduling problem OR the two don’t like to film together much or maybe talking about a wedding dress and ruining his own wedding, etc etc was a topic that they prefer not to act out together, who knows? So I think that scene consisted of alot of editing to pull it together.
And as for two characters with no scenes together lately, what the hell happened to Peyton & Haley? Last season they were in each other’s faces each episode and now we saw them sit together last night at slamball and sit and/or stand near each other at Q’s funeral and I think that may have been the extent of their scenes this year unless I’m missing something? Peyton has been cut off from everyone this year, but that’s typical of her character I guess, when things are going her way she’s usually in La La Land and forgets everyone else. She only ran to Brooke’s the day Brooke told her about the attack so she can cry the blues about Mick, but finally Brooke was able to trump her troubles with her own.

thankyou tanje, that is exactly what happened in the 1st season with Lucas and Peyton, it annoys the hell out of me. Yes I did see her straddling him but it is the complete randomness of the Brathan friendship that is annoying. I mean I know fully well that it is not going to lead anywhere, well not unless Joy doesn’t sign for the seventh and even then I don’t know, but Mark should atleast build it up, it’s like he just chucked them together just because they are dating in real life, blah not into it at all!!!

i dont think the brathan friendship was thrown together randomly, per se. in this episode, owen was the reason brathan even interacted. i think it’s nice that they’re recognizing that there is a brathan friendship since everyone in the core 5 have a scene all the time except those two.

I totally agree JSlove. I think it is so funny to read all these comments about how Brooke and Nathan have been getting lots of scenes together and that it is going to lead somewhere. First of all the scenes that they have been in together, suggest nothing but complete friendship, I mean Nathan is all for Owen and Brooke, secondly Nathan love Haley, thirdly Brooke loves Haley, fouth Brooke and Nathan are not cheaters and fifth I don’t think Mark would ever go there. Just because James and Sophia are have now been confirmed of their dating, all these fans start to speculate about how Mark is now going to put B/N together, it is ridiculous and just where do people get that idea from. The scenes that we have seen suggest nothing of the sort AT ALL. I think we as Naley fans need to chill and not worry about someone coming between them least of all Brooke. I am postive that Mark will never go down that route!!

loved it loved it…….and yes brucasfan I was so happy when nate said that to confirms what we already knew 
and the owen and brooke and nate scene I was curling over laughing lol…it was so funny owen is so sweet I love him 
not fussy about Sam yet…and I’m mad at mouth because I think hes gonna do something like maybe even cheat thats just what I think hopefully I’m wrong…and I so can’t wait for next week to see hot julian I hoping hes gonna be shirtless in that bedroom scene lol 
and naked Owen gonna be super awesome next week yay

the book is a love letter to Peyton and all about how much he loves her but it’s half about Brooke because half the time with Peyton he was cheating on Brooke so obviously that is mentioned if it tells the true story of how they got together, it’s not like the half about Brooke is a good half, and in the season 4 premiere he does a lot of voiceovers that are supposed to be parts of what he is writing in the book & they involve Brooke and breaking up with her
