I never really appreciated Chad as an intellectual until this inteview. It was really interesting hearing his perspective on the craft, and politics, haha.

I love Chad through all of these interviews except when he started talking politics he just sounded ignorant, but I know why he did it.

On a side note, does anyone know what song was playing in the back of the interview? I loved it.

I for one am glad and respect the fact that Chad did not get into any political discussion. In fact I’m really kinda tired of actors using their popularity to get their political views across. Everyone has the right and means to explore the candidates and vote following their own convictions.

I agree, I don’t think them dating each other had any real affect to the show. I think it would have ended up the way it did either way. But I still don’t like Leyton together, but that is just my opinion. I have always been a strong Naley and Brucas fan and that will never change!!!

- they got together on the show because there was still unfinished business with the B/L/P triangle and also because a lot of the fans adored sophia and wanted her to have a bigger role.

- then they started going out in real and im sure they would still be together if chopia didnt break up. yes they are proffesionals and still working together but how much truth is there to that? they werent in any scenes together fo 7 whole episodes this season. im sure a big part of the reason is C/S break up.

- i really think that them dating or their personal lives should have NOTHING to with the show, but whats done is done and whats been done on the show is made them to be a very strong couple so i don’t know why that wouldnt come back. like a lot of people say, personal lives should never come into careers, ITS WRONG!. just like im sure a lot of people would dislike it if brathan took naleys place. I WOULD HATE THAT TOO! i mean im happy for sophia and james but dont bring that couple on the show, PLEASE!.

- its not fair that brucas fans have this awesome couple to root for, and the person who created it wants nothing to do with it anymore… he just keepts throwing bones at us. totally unfair.

Curlyforever2009: I don’t think there is any news of them having a scene until 6.12. But, there may be a scene with them together in 6.09 or 6.10 and we just haven’t found out yet. They may get introduced to each other sooner that 6.12. I think there will probably be a scene with them at least in 6.10, because from the sides I have seen from 6.12, they already know each other when they bump in to one another in the diner. So, they probably will have already had a scene by 6.12. Hope that helps, I’m not too good at explaining things, lol.

Agreed Denise, I think seeing as there is a big break between 6.12 and 6.13, we’ll be left with the cliffhangers as to whether Peyton is pregnant, whether Nathan is on his way to the NBA and perhaps whether Brooke and Julian get together?

AlwaysBRUCAS. Nathan and Brooke are never going to be a couple on screen. I mean Brathan would never compare to Naley!!!! Look I think it’s great that they are going out in real life, but Mark would never go down that route. I honestly believe that!!!! Also all the scenes that they have had have been completely harmless and friendly I think Brucas fans and Naley fans have a right to be a little nervous though, because of what happened in season 1 but I have complete faith in Naley and the way Mark writes them, they just rule!!! I would love for Brucas to get back together but as of right now I just don’t see Mark even contemplating it, he has always been a fan of Leyton.

About Chad — I think it is unfair for us to all rank on him for cheating on Sophia. I used to talk trash about him but he seems like he has grown up quite a bit over the past few years. I feel like he’s just more of a man instead of a foolish boy who doesnt know what he wants. It seems like his life actually has direction now.

I agree, I am proud of him for not getting into politics. I am SURE he knows who he is going to vote for, however its not really our business and he doesnt have to tell us. Go chad

As for Chad not voicing his opinion, my papa always said if you want to keep your friends, never talk religion or politics. That’s the first smart thing I’ve seen Chad do or say.

I really don’t like it when celebrities openly root for a certain politician or view because there are a lot of easily influenced, ignorant people out there. However, I’m all for them encouraging people to vote in general though. To me, Chad came off as ignorant. I guess it doesn’t matter to everyone as much as I think it should, but if he isn’t well informed on the issues, he should take initiative and make himself aware. I would have appreciated him more had he said that he has a view but he’d like to keep it to himself and not that was something he didn’t know much about…

I can’t help but hold his cheating history against him though, my choice though, right? He still comes off as a poser to me. Seriously, I don’t see how anyone would think he’s actually intelligent?! Maybe comparatively to a young fan or something but definitely not in general.

I work for a polling institution and politics is a very touchy subject and a lot of people don’t feel comfortable openly discussing who they are voting for because they feel that it’s a private matter so to say that Chad came off as ignorant.. well is ignorant! Respect the fact that not everyone is going to openly talk about the election!

Hey girls/guys Just wanted to pop in and say G’day. I am from Australia and the only season that we got of One Tree Hill was season one. I fell in love with it from the very first episode I just loved Nathan(thought he was totally sexy) and I always wished that he beat Lucas at the one on one game in the pilot. HEHEHE. Is that bad of me? lol. I have all five seasons on dvd now and I am watching season 6 on the internet. I have always been a Naley fan but I love Leyton together aswell. ughhh if i hear “if Chad and Sophia never broke up in real life then Brucas would still be together” one more time i don’t know what i’m going to do!! the fact that some Brucas fans blame Leyton being together only on the fact that Chad and Sophia got divorced is just ridiculous to me. even if Chad and Sophia were still together in real life, that wouldn’t change Mark’s original vision for his show that he has ALWAYS HAD… and that’s LEYTON.

Brucas is over because they don’t make sense anymore for the show, and because they’re not the couple that Mark wants! Chad and Sophia are NOT the same couple as Lucas and Brooke! just because Chad and Sophia got divorced doesn’t mean that’s the ONLY reason Mark didn’t keep Brucas together. he’s wanted Leyton since DAY ONE… watch the interviews people! lol i’m sorry but it just drives me nuts when people say that’s the ONLY reason Leyton are together right now. it iss the only reason why leyton are together. yea i do believe that at the beginning leyton were meant to be and all but after seasons 2 and 3 brucas looked like they were endgame, everyone thought so. the whole “i love you NOT peyton” “im the guy for you brooke davis” “that kiss meant nothing. it was not a romantic situation” “i love you brooke, i dont know how else to say that” “i kept those things about peyton to remind myself of how much i hurt you and that if i were to get another chance i wouldn’t do it again” “who do you see standing next to you when all your dreams come true: BROOKE”.

can u honestly tell me that leyton is now somehow the epic couple? after peyton went after lucas, then pete, then jake, then lucas again, then julian, and then back to lucas? lucas went to peyton then brooke, then brooke again and then brooke again, then peyton, then lindsay, and now peyton. its even if you ask me, but brucas was always there, always. shes the other half. im sure “things got lost in translation” definitely means something to do with brucas and that they will both see they still love each other. lol give me a break… Mark didn’t just say he’s always known he’s wanted Leyton in the earlier seasons before Brucas.. he said it AFTER Brucas too, which means that Brucas didn’t change his opinion about wanting Leyton at all. you can go on all day long about all the sweet moments that Brucas had when they were together… but Leyton fans can do the same thing about Leyton’s moments! just because Brucas had sweet scenes and said sweet things to eachother when they were together doesn’t mean they should be endgame lol. saying that Chad and Sophia’s split is the only reason Leyton is together is such an easy cop-out. and the idea that Brucas still love eachother, but yet Lucas is HAPPILY ENGAGED TO PEYTON, and has proposed TWICE to PEYTON, and has written TWO books about his love for PEYTON is just absurd to me lol

and the fact that “Brooke is the other half” of Lucas’ first book means nothing to me lol. as you (AlwaysBRUCAS) JUST said in your previous post by talking about Lucas going back to Brooke a lot in high school, he was with Brooke throughout a LOT of his high school years… so ofcourse Lucas’ book that is set in high school is going to be a lot about Brooke. but it’s clearly not about Brooke in the SAME WAY that it’s about Peyton. Lindsey said herself in season 5 that she “spent a year editing what was basically a love letter to HER (PEYTON)”. so just because Brooke was “the other half” of the book, doesn’t mean he was writing about Brooke in the same way he was writing about Peyton… because he clearly wasn’t. he was just writing about Brooke because she was a big part of his PAST relationships in high school, that doesn’t mean that he still loves her lol

Man! Leyton and Brucas fans are always going to disagree with each other, it is invetiable. The fact of the matter is, is that Leyton are going to get married and Brooke is about to be in a three way with Julian and Owen. Look I love Brucas and I still have hope that maybe, just maybe there might be some shard of life for them but right now it just isn’t happening. I think it is great that all the Brucas fans still love and have faith in the couple but right now it is Leyton and it doesn’t look like Brooke is even entering anywhere near that equation! Besides I kinda think Owen is sexy and he can definitely handle Brooke, when those two are in a scene, sparks fly!!!!

“we’re just saying that it doesn’t really mean anything” who is we? and for your info, it does mean something. because if it wasnt for peyton telling brooke that she had feelings for lucas, brooke would still fight for lucas. after all these years, we might find that brooke still has feelings for lucas and that no matter what peyton says, brooke will never again, the way she loved lucas. and IM SORRY BUT DID YOU, LEYTON TLA, READ THE BOOK TO KNOW THAT LUCAS DIDNT WRITE ABOUT BROOKE IN THE SAME CONTEXT HE WROTE ABOUT PEYTON? i think that when lindsay said “it was like a love letter to peyton” , she was referring to the other half of the book in which he was writing about peyton. she is not going to say that about brooke because she knew that his last relationship was with peyton and not brooke. it would just cause more problems because at the time lindsay said that, we knew peyton had feelings for lucas, but we knew nothing about brooke, so if she said that, it would give away a lot and instead of a triangle, it would be a love square!.

let me point out. you said when brooke was talking to peyton about the first book she said “the guy wrote a whole book about how much he loves you” i really dont think that brooke read the book first of all. and second of all, brooke is putting everyone else before herself even a relationship that meant so much to her. (may i also include, that shes never loved any other guy like shes loved lucas and yea she was with chase after but “lucas scott would’ve been the one guy i might’ve lost it for” just rules out chase. now owen, hes still not lucas) in that scene she said “ive been the lindsay between lucas and peyton” but peyton has been the lindsay between brooke and lucas before too. brooke is acting as if her and lucas never had a real thing but we all know that isnt true. lucas and brooke have loved each other, we all know that from previous quotes in the show “i love you brooke davis” “i want you NOT peyton” to me it just seems like if shes making it look like her relationship with lucas was nothing, shes not truly happy for her best friend. shes not acknowledging the truth. shes more, hiding from it.

you know, your a leyton fan so you may never see where i come from, so lets just leave it at this
but i just had explain myself because brooke being the other half of the book DID mean something. if it didnt, it wouldnt have been mentioned.

and btw i hear mark isnt throwing us bones anymore which means the only things he could be throwing our way, are hints

Leyton fans and Brucasfan..Let just enjoy the series… To Brucas fans we all understand how you feel because we’re the leytons were in your shoes during season 1,2,3 and even 5 We’ve been waiting for leyton for 4 years with hiccups here and there.How we wish they could be together at the time. Now they are together and its our turn now to be happy. It started from the pilot; you can always tell that they meant to be together. Let leyton be happy. The leytons felt it from season 1 pilot… where Leyton always meant to be.For all weknow, at least, Brucas and Brucasses had their happy moments in season 1,2,3 and even in real life at the time. Just to state something. For you to have faith in your couple. You have to believe in both people. You cant go say you don’t think Brooke read the book when in fact she stated she did. It’s like you’re almost belittling Brooke’s character now and still stuck on old memories BL had in high school. Are you saying Brooke is in denial?

And when Brooke says “i’ve been the Lindsey between Peyton and Lucas..” thats exactly what it is. Peyton will never be the Lindsey, cause she will always come out on Top. Which has been proved twice. Could she have been? Of course, but thats just how Fate works.

And IMHO I just feel that the whole season 5 wasn’t built up around Leyton for nothing, for him to pick Peyton but to find out he’s still in love with Brooke. I just don’t see it or get it.

AlwaysBRUCAS, i’m not going to apologize for anything that i said, because that’s just my honest opinion about the subject. me saying that i think Brucas fans are just seeing these “Brucas signs” because of their wishful thinking, is my opinion and i’m not going to change that. i myself don’t think we have seen ANY ROMANTIC SIGNS between Brucas since they split in season 4… that’s just the way it is. i don’t think Mark is throwing Brucas fans anymore bones, i just think he STILL isn’t wanting a certain fanbase to feel completely alienated, and that is why we’re still getting our random references to Brucas. i’m sure Mark just wants please the Brucas fans in SOME way, and is trying to make it so that the season doesn’t “suck” like Mark said it would for those who aren’t happy with Lucas’ choice. i don’t believe he’s giving us “hints” at all… i just don’t. i think it’s perfectly clear that Peyton is the one that Lucas is truly in love with now, and i think it’s perfectly clear that Brooke is sincerely happy for them.

and how on earth can you say that “Brooke isn’t acknowledging the real truth about her feelings for Lucas”… like YOU KNOW what Brooke’s true feelings are lol. and i think the fact that “Brooke is acting like her relationship with Lucas never even happened” says something. it says that Brooke has MOVED ON, and there’s no need to go around acting like her and Lucas had a serious relationship… because it was back in HIGH SCHOOL. everyone has serious relationships in high school, that doesn’t mean they should spend the rest of their lives talking about them…. people move on from those relationships, just like Lucas and Brooke have.

How do you know that Joy is a republican? Not to say that it’s wrong. Everyone’s entitled. I mean did she come out and say it? Plus she’s not from Texas. I’m pretty sure she is from Florida but I think she studied music in the North. I heard she was originally from NJ. But she studied music in Brooklyn, which I is why I heart her so much! I also agree that it kinda annoys me when celebrities use their celebrity. I also don’t think she’s an outcast. It’s probably because she’s pretty low-key and she was the first to get married plus she’s very musical. I think Hillarie is very similar to her. They’re just not as out there as Sophia is.

Woo, I agree with you about discussing politics, I have a friend who one day started discussing politics with me and I listen to everything he had to say without giving any criticism because I valued his opinion as a friend but when he heard my opinion he got very agressive, he saw that I did not share his point of view, ever since then our friendship has changed. So everytime he’s about to talk about politics/religion I would just put in my I pod or change the subject. Chad did the right thing choosing not to discussing politics.

I am also sick of people talking about chad and sophia past relationship, things happen, people lives change, and they must get sick and tired of people brining up their past when chad and sophia themselves have moved on and have better things going for them now.
Just give them a break people.

I really don’t care if someone is republican or democrat, its their personal choice and they have their reasons

I personally can not wait until they start to show bits of filming from the movie, I have alway wanted to know what the f*** was in the book! I feel the book is really what the show was about in the begining before they graduated, but we never got to see it so now maybe we will get a chance for Lucas to share his feelings on the choices he made, and how choices other people made effected his future decisions.

So I REALLY think people need to calm down with the hating here. I mean it’s a t.v. show! Like Leytonlah said “let’s just enjoy the season” There’s no need for people to be fighting all the time about this subject. It’s never going to end! Even when the whole entire series is over, people are still going to be fighting about what happened and who should really be with who. There’s no point to it. You can’t change someone’s opinion so instead of arguing and dwelling on it, people should just let it go and move on. Both sides love their couple and everyone loves the show so really people should just focus on how good the show is.

Anyways, back to what I was originally going to post before my little rant. lol

Do we know when Peyton and Julian were together? Was it like a one night stand or something back in the day or was it more recent when Lucas and Lindsey were together? Because here’s what I was thinking in my little twisted brain haha so maybe Peyton hooked up with Julian the night before Lucas’ wedding or something like that. I’m totally blanking on if she saw him the night before the wedding. Or maybe even the after Lucas said “I hate you” to her. Anyways her and Julian get together and obviously we all know what took place so the doctor’s call she getting is telling her she’s preggers and then she’s all torn between which guy it could be yay twists lol because even though it was like a 3 month break for us it’s reallllly only been like a month or two since LP got back together right? I think I could see Mark pulling something like that out of his pocket.

Then maybe Julian starts hitting on Brooke and Peyton finds out then warns Brooke to be careful. And this leads Peyton to a teary confession to her bestie and then Brooke gets all pissed and starts yelling at Julian for hitting on her.

Either that whole scenario or it’s that Peyton stole a cup or something from the man she thinks is her father to get it DNA tested lmao…but I like my first one better.

OHHHH even better to add lol this just popped into my head…maybe when Peyton tells Lucas she has a romantic history with Julian, Lucas flips out and goes and finds Brooke then rants to her about it. And since Lucas has totally not been there for Brooke she tells him to suck it up and get over herself and so what if Peyton was with another guy while Lucas was with Lindsey. And Lucas will be say something about how Brooke waited awhile before she dated someone after they broke up and then Brooke will explode on him with the whole she dated that teacher who turned out to be a jack a**. That would be fun…even though I love brucas

A comment on the issue of the Brooke/Lucas relationship ending due to Chad and Sophia’s divorce.

The first episode i ever caught of oth was the finale of season 2 (obviously during the “brucas” storyline.) I then went back and started watching from the pilot. I have been a die hard brucas fan ever since. I will admit that Mark absolutely envisioned this show from the start with Lucas and Peyton. However, when Chad and Sophia’s relationship started, that really sparked the idea of exploring the brucas storyline, and the depth of brook’s character. Why not work with some of your natural chemistry on set. Mark stated in a recent interview that he does recognize that Brooke and Lucas have great chemestry together, but that they were married, and we have to remember that they are all people first. Maybe Brooke and Lucas were not planned from the start, but the story evolved, and it worked; and i think it was completely obvious that it was “re-directed” to leyton due to the divorce. Think of how random the end of season 3 was. When i saw them bring Jake back i was so excited, and then suddenly Peyton was still in love with Lucas? They didn’t have an acceptable build-up to their relationship at that point in the story line. HOWEVER, having said that, season 5 did this justice. I really think season 5 was a tribute to all of the writers on that show as well as Chad and Hilarie, in proving their talent. Their “love scenes” lack some of the chemestry that Brooke and Lucas had, but they have many scenes (think of Peyton telling Lucas that his art matters, that she should have said yes, that she is going to let go if that’s what he wants, and the final scene “it’s my dream” ) which really can make me cry every time i watch them. The story is there now, the build-up was wonderful and i really think that even long-time brucas fans need to admit that there is such an honesty in these scenes.

…but back to my point, the brucas relationship definitely ended due to the divorce, regardless of whether it was planned at all in the first place.

I think Chad did sound kinda ignorant when it came to politics.It’s like he was oblivious to what is going on. He seems intelligent. He must have some opinion. We don’t need to know who he’s voting for, that’s his business. but it seemed like he wasn’t interested at all ???
