BuddyTV Exclusive Interview: Chad Michael Murray of ‘One Tree Hill’

Chad Michael Murray has been wowing fans of One Tree Hill for years as Lucas Scott, but only recently has the actor stepped behind the scenes to try his hand at writing and directing. Murray wrote tonight’s special 1940s-themed episode, which transports the characters back to a time when mobsters ruled the streets and movies were still in black and white. He’s also spent the past week directing his first installment of the series, which will air sometime in January. Murray may be best known for his acting, but fans will soon learn that his work behind the camera is equally fascinating.
Chad stepped away from his directorial duties this morning to speak with us about what’s coming up on One Tree Hill. Read on for his thoughts on tonight’s episode, his script ideas that didn’t make the cut, and who he thinks Lucas should ultimately end up with.

Anyone catche these two comments by Chad?
1. Lucas and Nathan still have the loves of their lives. (in regards to 40s ep)
2. I think next year I wanted to do A Christmas Carol, with Jackson [Brundage] as Tiny Tim, and take all the characters from that story but do like the ghost of rock and roll past. Those are some of the ideas that I batted around.

I love Chad!! I love the fact that he really cares about what the fans want and how to best display that
Chad is so adorable. I love the fact that no matter when, where, what or how, that Naley and Leyton are sooooo meant to be!! 
Haha yeah Chad just admitted that he sees Lucas and Peyton as the right couple. He tried to not pick a team in that last question but said that no matter what Nathan and Lucas would have the loves of their lives, so it’s pretty obvious that Chad interprets his character as being 100% in love with Peyton…yay!

wasnt no tongue action but still. And Im sure there’s some Laley fans out there that like them more than the sister/brother type.
LPtrue there are definitely some fans out there that would like to see Laley be more then what they are now, but I honestly cringe at that thought

star crossed lovers is Naley, not leyton. He has to love Brucas since helllooo they were married and of course they r better together.
Sorry but the definition of star-crossed lover is:
Two people who care immensely for each other but due to their circumstaces cannot be together.
That is NOT Nathan and Haley. Though they had struggles they were together most of the One Tree Hill seasons. Lucas and Peyton were not.
I think after tonight’s episode we will all see where Lucas’ heart and head is and has always been – with Peyton.

I just think that what Chad meant by that statement, is that it doesn’t matter what time or place Naley or Leyton are in, they would somehow always end up together!! It’s fate. Naley and Leyton are Truelove!!! I mean to have a debate about what star crossed lovers really means is ridiculous especially when Chad was talking about both couples!!
i think what he meant by star-crossed lovers is that no matter what time/era it is, naley are still together. hes not going to deny that he doesnt love peyton, we all know at this time in the show he supposedly does. but brucas is still in for the win because at the end he said i dont have a preference.
WHICH MEANS TO ALL YOU LEYTON FANS, LEYTON IS NOT SET IN STONE. there are still possibilities of a brucas endgame! woohoo! iv never given up and i never will.
but leyton are in love/together in this episode…but brucas is the catalyst, we’ll have to see what happens…..

I didn’t say that, that was what truelove was. I was simply saying I hope she does fall in-love because she deserves it
And if she happens to fall in-love with one of the hotties being thrown her way and is happy then why not?
I though LP was cute in the eppi! I like the end when Peyton was in Tric by herself, that was 100% her pregnacy complication health wise
