Star Sophia Bush tells me, “We don’t know [if we'll be back for another season]. The network keeps saying it’s up to the cast, but no one has offered us another season, so we’ll see. There are a lot of variables that would have to work out properly for people, but as long as there are good stories to tell, I think we’re up to continuing to tell them. We’re having a great time. We have such great guest stars on our show right now—Austin Nichols is one of my dearest friends. We actually went on, like, four dates after I split up from you know who, years and years ago, and we’ve been, like, the best of friends ever since. We’re a big family at this point.”

Chances of Renewal: Even. The fans are always down for more One Tree Hill, but the cast, the writers, the studio and the network have plenty of financial, contractual and creative issues to work out before a new season is a sure thing. The good news for OTH fans is that executive producer Mark Schwahn is no longer attached to the CW’s new Melrose Place retread, so until further notice, he is free to focus on your Tree Hill faves

i do remember seeing pictures of them, one I remember was them two sitting on a beach it was a while ago.
This kinda doesnt sound like Sophia someone who doesnt like to let the public in she spoke about them dating and brought up chad and said you know who. I dunno if I believe it. Hope its true though

As much as I love OTH, I only want it to go on if ALL of the 5 main actors return. I think they’re the reason people love this show so much and it wouldn’t be what it is if only 3 or 4 came back.

Is this really a quote from her? She always seems SOOOO guarded in interviews post Chopia . . . It seems a bit unrealistic that she would give out that much info and refer to CMM as “you know who.” Seems a little bit weird. Can this be confirmed???

Megan- I think it’s safe to say that the cast will decide together. I think James said something one time that said he would go all or nothing. (if I’m not mistaken) I totally agree though it should be all 5. It wouldn’t be the same show. It would be like a spin off.

i think there is going to be a season 7 cuz if u check out hilaries myspace mark schwann did a blog on her page saying their is going to be a season 7. I totally agree if they’re doing a season 7 all 5 have to be back especially naley and really good storylines. If not they shouldn’t do it. I feel like they kind of written everything they can I want them to end it when people are still watching and as long as they don’t do the jump the shark moment. check this out :

i think if the CW has anything to say about it there will be a season seven. i think at this point its the actors that may be the issue. (just my opinion.)

I love the show, but they kinda told every story that can be told…IMO it’s time to put it to rest…until it turns into one of those shows that go on forever even if they don’t have anything to say anymore.

i think we should have one LAST Season (season 7) for closure. Sure, they can do that at the end of this season but in my opinion everything has just been starting now. Leyton is having a baby, Brooke’s budding relationship with Julian, Nathan’s and Haley’s aspirations, and much more.
I definitely think there aren’t any more stories to be told BUT there are stories that need closure.
will sam still live with brooke? how well can leyton adjust to be parents. will naley achieve their goals? will brooke ever have her happy ending? and if/when the hell will rachel come back?! LOL
there is still so much potential for one tree hill that i would love to continue to watch if they had a 7th season

I agree we dont need a whole season but closure, maybe they will do an OC and rush ahead in the last epi? I dont imagine that they have written the last few epi’s of this season yet considering a 7th Season hasnt been confirmed.
Also interesting about Sophia and Austin on a few levels, one they obviously find each other attractive in real live and thats why they are so hot, and two maybe by Sophias comments shes over Chopia, and maybe becuase of this there might be a Brucas end after all?

I so agree with everyone about another season, not all the stories are told yet, because of all the new storylines after 613 (Leyton and baby, Brooke and Julian). I think one more season is a right thing to do, to make the storylines complete, after season 7 it is a right thing to stop! =)

I just hope we get closure, everything the way it should be in the world of tree hill. And it pains me too say but there will never be a brucas ending, brooke would never do that too peyton. Atleast the brooke she has become.

You guys, there will not be a Brucas ending, I mean come on…would you really want that now?? Leyton is having a baby they are getting married and obviously very much inlove. Brooke is better then that, and so is Lucas!!
As for s7, if they end it the right way this year I am fine with it being over. But I want closure for sure!!!!

Some people are saying that there aren’t any more stories to be told but we need another season for closure. I totally agree with that.
When Haley was pregnant we found out in like the 4th episode of season 4 and she didn’t have the baby until the finale.
Before we knew that Peyton was definitely pregnant we were thinking she might have cancer. Then when she fell to the floor this year we all thought she was pregant and maybe she was having a miscarriage or something was going wrong. So If they are going to have Peyton continue to be pregant we need another season. And i think most of us want Peyton to stay pregnant.
I don’t know how many of you watched Gilmore girls but the character Sookie was pregnant in the series finale and i alway wonder what went on with that.
WE NEED A SEASON SEVEN. For closure purposes. I would be fine with a 13 episode season or even if it had to be 5 episodes. I just don’t want to be left hanging with these storylines..

They don’t need a season 7 the show sucks enough as it is. IMO the show started to go downhill right after season 1 lol mark had no general outline for the show at all thats why it changes around so freaking much.

Well I hope that season 7 is twice as good as season 1-6…it has to be more OTH than what this season has been.

I wonder if that’s weird for James – for her boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, and ex-husband all to be working together. Even if you are over someone – there is still something there. To quote Brooke from this weeks episode:

You know I’m a die hard Brucas fan but after what CMM did to Sophia, I wouldn’t want to put her through having to work so closely with him. Good for her that she was strong enough to divorce him so quickly when they were so obviously in love. I don’t know if I could have been so strong. Especially in such a public situation as was their relationship. Props to her.

No offense but i’m pretty sure season 7 will be the worst the shows ever produced. I can just see how horrible its gonna get. We’ll have randoms pretty much consume the show since none of the main cast really wants to be there anymore.Peyton and Brooke will be in another “epic” triangle involving Julian even though Lucas was her true love, but knowing Mark he’ll spin it around and try to make like she loved Julian all along or something. I can’t even type anymore its just making me so bitter. This show just needs to die it was never really a masterpiece after season 1, but it still had alittle heart now it doesn’t even have that its just bad now.
Sometimes i wish the fans never put so much into it just for it to be completely ruined since the series finales gonna be a copout.( well if we even get a series finale that is because it’ll probably be canceled) Sorry just ignore me i’m on my rant rampage right now.

No i mean i think it’ll get canceled next year. I know its doing really well this year, but since chads not signing on i have a feeling its gonna crash and burn. Thats just my opinon though because a little show like one tree hill can’t survive without one of its main characters the ratings aren’t nearly high enough to handle that massive blow.

I agree Kayla….I don’t think they’d do a seventh season without Chad either…..the Scott brothers is what the show is centered around, especially Lucas…wouldn’t make sense to continue it without him. I really want a seventh season but if they don’t have all the Core 5 characters I hope the end at season 6.

I really want the show to end this season. It’s said to say that, but watching the show has become somewhat of a chore this season. At this point the writers have done everything they can with these characters. A show is about character growth and interesting plots. These characters have already done so much with their lives and we have seen them through some of the best and worst times. Messing with the relationships and distorting their characters would only weaken the show’s integrity. I don’t want to see them break up Leyton (again) for the sake of continuity. And to all the people saying that they want a seventh season for “closure”: you cannot base an entire season on closure, there needs to be something else. There is plenty of time left this season (esp. with the extra episodes) to find closure for the characters and maybe give us a preview of what is to come for them.

Im not really loving Chad right now. I feel like he thinks he’s too cool for school. I know everything is speculation – but if he is seriously the only one that hasnt signed on….c’mon chad!
I feel like this is Luke Perry leaving 90210, or Micha Barton leaving the OC……they want to distance themselves & move on….but the damage is done. Suck it up and do one more year!

Mischa Barton was “written” off The O.C…as in fired. If you have read anything about that, both the creator (Josh Schwartz)and Mischa herself has confirmed that detail. I don’t understand why everyone still thinks that she left and wanted to be a “movie star”. Since The O.C. she has done nothing but indie movies. Doesn’t sound like she intended to leave and snub the show or anything to me.

MIcha basically got herself fired on purpose. She wanted out and there was no way Josh woud let her out voluntarily…she was a main character. So she started abusing authority – coming in late, not learning her lines, ect….so there was no choice but to let her go.
I mean, those are just things Ive read…thats why I think that. However, you cant always believe what you read.
I just get that “too good” vibe from Chad – in all his recent interviews. Im just going by what I pick up on….I’m not claiming it to be fact at all.

IMO its fine chad wants to leave, but i don’t want the network to even attempt to make another season without him cause i just don’t know how it’ll work. He’s too important to the show to just kill off. I mean he’s not just one of the main characters hes THE main character, and has been since the beginning. I’m just failing to see the positives this will bring to the network and the show.
