Episode 22 Show Me How to Live Reaction

Posted by Amy with 27 Comments

So glad I got to see this episode.  What a great one.  I know they are really milking all they can out of this Peyton dying thing but if you give into it, wow, some great moments tonight.  It’s just heartbreaking to see Peyton film a time capsule, something I know that every mother including myself has thought of doing if in her shoes.  I loved how Lucas was reminded of his love for her.  I always love seeing glimpses of their high school days.

Unfortunately I think Naley was put on the backburner again.  We really didn’t even get to see Nathan’s career move forward.  Just more hoping.

I think one of the most touching scenes though was Brooke and Sam.  When she said she would always be her first mother, well, I just about lost it.

For some reason, I don’t feel like commenting too much about tonight’s episode.  I think it was just absolutely beautiful.  No it wasn’t perfect but there were a lot of perfect moments.  Well done, my OTH friends.

What’d you guys think?

This episode was pure awesomeness! I mean it wasnt happy, it was actually quite sad, but the moments were so amazingly played out and the acting was superb!!! Peyton in the begining was so great, I cried like 3 diferent times tonight! lol. I love this damn show! I cant wait till the next episode and OMG Julian “It must be 98 degrees” comment had me laughing soo hard! Cant wait!!!!

this episode had so much heart. i loved that we finally got some interaction between peyton, brooke, and haley! and i agree about hilarie in this episode, her acting was amazing. could care less about nathan and his “game” at this point, so i definitely could have done without those scenes tonight… along with skills/jamies teacher. i actually got teary eyed in the brooke and sam scenes, it was pretty intense. and leyton was incredible! him telling her in the end that there wasn’t “any damn reason that he wanted to marry her other than he wants her to be his wife and he loves her with all his heart” was adorable. cant wait till next week

First, I think James did a really good job directing this episode.

Second, I loved this one a lot, especially the beginning. I know they are milking the Peyton/Lucas/baby situation, but this episode was priceless. I could not stop crying! Even the scenes with Lucas and Jamie were cute. Peyton really pulled at the heart strings throughout the WHOLE episode!

No, they did not do a lot about Naley, but it still amazes me, even after all these years, to see Nathan so grown up. I watched the first season of OTH and was so shocked at how much Nathan has changed.

Brooke and Sam – I could not stop crying :-( I can’t believe we actually got to see Victoria act human . . .

Skills and Lauren – was not all that great, but it did make me laugh (even though I’m still upset about the whole “social security” thing . . . )

Other than that, this episode was pretty good.

Lucas/Peyton-I was definitely crying throughout her video for the baby. Especially when she was talking about how she took care of her Dad and how the baby would need to take care of Lucas. It was so great that Lucas shared his memories with Jamie. The line about Lucas being Jamie’s Uncle Keith, tears.

Naley-Haley looked goregous in that dress, first off. Like almost every ep this season, I wanted more Naley! I’m hoping there’s more of them in the upcoming episodes (and I cannot wait to see what’s up with the closet sex next week!!)

Brooke/Sam-Heartbreaking. That’s about all I can say. Oh yeah, and Sam really is a Davis..she’s the girl behind the red door, just like Brooke.

    Skills/Lauren-ADORABLE.

Such a cute ep. I cannot wait till next week!!!!!

OMG.. this show was so good… I loved Lucas and Jamie. When Jamie said Lucas was like his uncle keith and then gave him a hug and told him he thought everything would be ok.. OMG.. I cried… Hilarie did amazing in this episode. The tears were just flowing tonight! Cannot wait for next week. I was there for the filming so it is going to be awesome to see it on the screen!

I am so excited to see the last episodes of this season and this one was no exception. I agree in that it went very nicely – and smooth and did have wonderful beautiful moments. Cannot wait for the rest gives me butterflies in my stomach:)

Is Sam coming back? I think her and Brooke are really finding their place together now. Their sad.

I was crying during the Peyton beginning when she said to be good to Lucas and stuff, because me and my dad have a tortured relationship but those words made me want to fix it. (temporary feeling though) :)

Kudos for James for directing this episode. I actually liked it better than Chad and Joy’s.

I loved the Baby Shower with the girls. PHB all looked great. But it was too SHORT!(along with short scenes for NH, LH, and LP)

Do we really want/need to see Skills on a date with Lauren and that little boy? NO!

I really have to agree with you about the lack of NH. I feel for you all. I rather have Nathan at home with HJ, than him playing basketball.

Is it just me or do the Sam/Brooke/Victoria scene seem to be the longest/dragging? I love the pairing but they were dragging the situation.

And this is why I love this woman. She plays her part and she delivers. I felt for Peyton. I understand her reason for doing the times capsule for the baby. Even if nothing was wrong with her, I think its still a great thing to do. Never know when you are gonna leave this place. She was so genuine and love the way she spoke about Brooke/Haley/Nathan. And I really got teary eyed when she spoke about Lucas. I also understand Lucas freaking out. That’s what he fears the most. Losing her. But I was happy he realized her reason and why he love her so much.

Overall, pretty good episode. Scene suckers/dragging.

Now sam is the girl behind the red door! I was reminded tonight how much I love this show. Kudos. :)

I loved the episode. Not a favorite, but it was really good.
I was totally bawling like a baby in the beginning when Peyton was recording the “just in case” video. And Kate’s song in the background was just so beautiful and added so much to that scene.
I cried again in the end when Sam was going to spend time with her birth mom but she told Brooke that she would always be her first mom and Brooke told Sam that she would always be a Davis. Aw, that definitely tugged at the heartstrings. And I gotta say that Victoria is growing on me, the way she is acting toward Sam and even Brooke. I just wish now that she could mend that rift with Brooke.
And as much as I love the Nathan basketball storyline and seeing him work toward his dream, I miss him being at home with Haley and Jamie. I miss all the cute little family scenes. We only get tiny snippets of that now. But next week…hot Naley sex! Totally makes up for it!

Tonight’s episode was good but what i did not like about it is of course the lack of Haley storylines!!
and the lack of Naley too :(
Brooke broke my heart i feel for her :(
I loved Peyton’s msges to the baby it was so overwhelming!
the girls interaction was awesome just hoped they made it longer, u know more girlie talk like old times :)
Skills and his date…couldn’t care less!
Nathan and Bball, give the man another story please!
ooh and BTW James L did a great job directing :)

What was up with Lucas’ hair? Reminds me of Cameron Diaz in There’s Something About Mary.

Im totally a brooke fan, so i dont mean anything bad when i say this….im glad i finally saw TEARS when she was doing a crying scene. It was like every emotional scene shes had this season, shes been crying with no tears..i really felt the scene when she was doing her sketches at the end and tears were rolling down her cheeks, and i really wish that Victoria had hugged her!!! it was a really amazing episode!!!

  19. Comment by LPtrue♥always™ in May 5, 2009 @ 10:12 am

^^ I feel you. I’ve been saying that all season long. And before that scene, I was like “Geez, Sam will you let Brooke borrow some of your tears?!” LOL. But FINALLY!

Hi Amy! What happened to your music from the episode posts? I always use it to find my new songs for the week. Anyhow if you have time can you start doing those again?

brooke and sam were just heartbreaking..i hvnt really cried for an oth episode after the one with Q’s funeral. all of the last scenes..and especially the coda with brooke crying..i couldn’t help it. it’s so sad. i wish that sam would come back but i know she’s not. i just hope that brooke’s gonna be happy at some point in this season. she deserves it

Since James Lafferty directed the episode there was a little shout out to his hometown, when he’s walking into the game, before warmups its a close up of the Hemet Seahawks. Way to be inconspicuous, I had to watch it twice :) plus it was a great episode i loved every fatastic moment

Yeah I agree about the Brooke thing. No offense, but she hasn’t really cried all season. She’s been on the edge of spilling the tears, but they never end up actually falling. Glad they did :)
I loved this episode. Perfect. Okay, almost perfect. Needed more Naley. :P lol. But Everyone got the perfect amount of screentime.. ish (wow I just contradicted myself.. I meant everyone else other then Naley) And I didnt even mind watching Mouth because it tied in with Nathans storyline and not his own! FINALLY. Thats how it should always be. I even loved skills and Laurens scenes because they were so cute! so glad that Chuck was there, or else I probably would of found it boring. lol. Glad to see Junk and Fergie again. Sometimes there hilarious when given the right lines. :) All in all, great episode Ill be watching again and again. Hope the last two are just as good!
