Exclusive: Murray, Burton exit ‘One Tree Hill’
It looks like One Tree Hill newlyweds Peyton and Lucas are about to embark on a permanent honeymoon.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, whose characters tied the knot in last night’s penultimate episode, will not be returning for the show’s seventh season next fall. The CW is expected to formally announce their departures next Thursday at its upfront presentation.
Murray and Burton have been engaged in rather high-profile contract negotiations for the past several months. Ultimately, a deal couldn’t be worked out and both actors will make their final appearances in next Monday’s season finale.
To fill the void next season, a Hill insider tells me that two new characters will be introduced. Additionally, Austin Nichols (Julian) is being promoted to a series regular.

So, they are gonna bring in too new characters to replace them. Even if that’s not their intention, they are gonna try and make it happen.
I knew it, that they weren’t coming back, but I still had that tiny glimmer of hope in the back of my mind.
Devastated. I’m not even an LP fan, but ultimitley they ARE One Tree Hill. I’m not watching Season 7. I’m done.

I’m speechless. I’ll give it a shot next season, but, like after what happened on the O.C, I could never get into that season.

I had an awful feeling this was coming soon. I mean, although deep down I knew it, I kinda had that little glimpse of hope it wouldn’t happen.

I think they are making a big mistake. They could just end the series perfectly this season and not make it all go downhill with not having 2 of the core characters gone next season. Their gonna loose half of their viewers.

This is such sad news, but I can’t say I’m surprised. I’m just gonna pray that next season won’t suck, because I am ultimately dedicated to this show with or without LP. But I believe Mark Scwahn can manage, and hopefully he’ll bring us a good, maybe final, season! And plus they weren’t the best part of the show anyway!

EW! Okay, while I am not a hard core LP fan. They have gotten to cheesy for me, but if they are introducing two new characters I hardly doubt that. Yes, Julian we all knew he was signed on as a regular for next season. But, seriously I do not need for MOUTH and MILLIE or CHAD and MIA. I do love Chad though. Find him someone. Maybe hmm Brooke b/c I was all for them. Or I don’t know bring back Rachel or Bevin. Even though we saw Bevin and Tim got married (that was never realistic). Or hmm Jake and Jenny. Not some random people that have no connection to Tree Hill in previous seasons. I would not believe that they just randomly come in and are new best friends withe everyone.

This is all Chad’s fault. He probably wanted to leave to pursue movies and would only stay if the CW payed him some ridiculous amount of money. In the process Hilarie is screwed over because all though she wants to stay the writers can’t have her without Chad or there goes Leyton’s happy ending. This sucks!! The show should have just went off the air after season 6.

It doesnt bother me that they are leaving, to me CMM is too big for his britches and Hill B just got caught up in it plus isnt she prego in real life.
Now is there Chance to move it to LA or NY have Brooke go with Jullian to LA and have Nathan play for an NBA team or coach an NBA team in LA and then of course skills is off the show for good and Mouth can get an anchor job in LA and we have a brand new start to a new side of the show.

I feel like OTH has started to stray from the show it used to be…and now, with this news, i feel like it’s a totally new show.
i know there’s been debate, but ever since season 1, lucas has been a HUGE character. and over the last 6 seasons, peyton has also become a staple for one tree hill. they’ve become my favorite characters, and my favorite couple, and even though i still like one tree hill, i’m afraid they just lost one huge fan for season 7.
that being sad, i think chad is an idiot for doing this- oth made him who he is today, he’s biting the hand that fed him and it’s a shame that he’s bringing hilarie down with him-i think we all know that hilarie loves being peyton, and she loves being a part of one tree hill.
i don’t wish chad luck at all- it was his choice to leave and i really don’t see him hitting it any bigger than oth, any time soon.
as for hilarie, i love her, i wish her all the luck in the world and i hope she has a great life with southern gothic productions.

I’ve been watching OTH since it started and I’m a big fan I love it, but with Hilarie and Chad gone it just won’t be the same, others show’s have tried to do the same and it just doesn’t work out. I wish Hilarei and Chad the best!!

Season 7 will be a fat failure imo. I wouldn’t be surprised if it got canceled due to bad ratings.

i cant believe this i was away to watch last nights epi…are we sure about this they are really not coming back?! i just watched the behind the scenes on epi 24 and no hil and chad..thats it then…i really thought they would change their mind…am afraid i wont be watching season 7 leyton are the only reason i watch the show..am in shock!

And no… I don’t blame Chad and HB for wanting to make moves in their career and life. We don’t know what’s going on in their lives and if the price wasn’t right I wouldn’t have stayed on board either. I’m hoping they requested a decent send off though for the fans.
I’m willing to accept Peyton dying (although it’s going to hurt so much) if I get a good leyton ending from it. I can see Lucas leaving with baby Leyton. Give me some good flashbacks and the thought that Peyton will always be his soulmate and might could handle it…might

this episode 6×24 should’ve been the series finale. I mean I’m not a huge leyton fan, but they were still cute and funny together. I’m not shocked only because they have been telling us for months now that they weren’t coming back. This really should’ve been the last season I mean we’ve had the leyton wedding, naley is good, and we have the leyton baby. What r they gonna do next season its gonna be a “jump the shark” season and the viewership is gonna down terrible. The cw is screwed now, nice going.

I had a feeling this was coming, kinda already told my self they wouldnt be back, but just seeing it confirmed makes me really sad! I do not see how season 7 is going to be able to go on without two of the main characters. I mean great they are adding two others but there is no way they can replace Chad and Hil. Very sad =(

And a side comment.. I think some Brucas fans were still holding out that maybe something could go down as long as Chad was on the show. With him leaving, that sort of closes things on that.

Season seven will be interesting to say the least, but I have a feeling I might wait to see it whenever it eventually airs in the UK instead of reading/seeing bits and pieces online.
I suppose we can only wait and see what happens on Monday, and then after that…who knows?

I have been an avid viewer of the show since it started and I freaked out when there was talk of CMM and HB not returning and to see it being confirmed pisses me off. I can’t believe next week is going to be the last time they will be on. It won’t be the same even though I do like Julian and Brooke together and glad to see he will be a regular and I love Nathan and Hales, but still. If the network really wanted them to return they would have worked harder in the negotiations. I just know next monday is going to feel like my best friend died. Weird how much I live through this show but it is my absolute favorite & has been since day one.

Idk about that, Cassi. I mean, hopefully it all works out great and tha twould be awesome, but Karen and Whitey werent as pivotal characters as Peyton and Lucas are. Almost every part of OTH has SOMETHING to do with at least one of them.
And as far as the spoilers are concerned, it would SO be OTH to have that be a dream sequence along with Nathans NBA spoiler pics we saw.

Well, I guess it’s Chad’s fault, because we all know how much Hil enjoys the show and playing Peyton…I just wish he never will have any regrets, but I doubt that. I mean, except Clooney, which serie’s actor has had a great movie-career???

There’s all this talk about everyone being done with this show, but i’m still debating. i mean, i clearly watch for LP, but there was once a time where i was in it for the show as a whole- being invested in all the character’s storylines.. But it hasnt been about that in a long long time. So since its official that the 2 LEAD Characters and Lead couple are leaving.. What’s the point anymore?

I’m more sad about losing all of these relationships, specifically breyton. And I’m sorry, but since this is real now I kinda hope Peyton dies. It would open the show to so many storylines…. although I don’t think Brooke could take it. And I don’t think I could watch Brooke be destroyed yet again. I agree with whoever said move the show too LA, no it wouldn’t be the oth we know and love. But really it hasn’t been that in a long time. Probably since they killed Keith. Losing the adults was a big mistake. And I just miss my show. I will be watching season 7, because brooke/sophia is my girl and she better get a happy ending. And I’m curious where they will go.

This is discouraging to me. You are taking away two of the main character of this awesome show and losing the focus. It is like taking Ricky and Lucy out of I love Lucy or taking Samantha out of Bewitched. We all waited for this moment(wedding) between lucas and peyton and now you are saying it stops? The whole reason you did not do the college years was because you were afraid show would die so now you are letting two important main characters go – let the ending begin.

This is so unbelievably sad…..Wow, can’t believe it actually came down to this..would it have killed Chad to do half a season I mean seriously! It makes me feel like he has no appreciation for the show that got him to the C-List status he is at right now…now we don’t get to see Peyton & Brooke or Haley and Peyton with the new baby, they are just going to up and leave tree hill? That is really out of character don’t you think! And then on top of that put 2 new characters in their place! Seriously?! So disappointed right now, wishing they would just pay them the money to do half a season or just do a 2 hour special in the fall, wrap up everyone’s story and say peace out! Without the core five, my heart just says why bother………..thanks CW, after Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, and all the other crap you have pulled this one takes the cake! Lucas and Peyton’s love story was the core of the show since day one. To not have them back for the final season is crazy. I just hope they dont kill them off. We see how well killing Marissa worked for the OC.

there goes season 7 ; i mean i KNOW that this isn’t the ‘lucas and peyton show’ but they’re such a HUGE part of it, and 99.9% of all the fans that i know watch just for LP. i think its going to go STRAIGHT downhill next season.. i know i won’t watch it. okay well i prolly will, lol. but im not going to be happy.

i just saw this on perezhilton.com too, and i swear my heart dropped. somehow, seeing it there, makes it more official. (because as someone said above, perez doesn’t care about OTH at all, but yet he posted that)
as i said before, i’m mad out of my mind at chad, but now mark too. back in season 1, i don’t think mark had in his mind for season 7, two totally new, random characters and no lucas and peyton. i think he’s getting greedy and all he wants is just his show to be on TV-not if it’s good or if his fans are happy. it’s a shame.

I have to agree with who’s saying if they are leaving it’ll be better if Peyton dies then. ‘Cause, let’s face it, there aren’t that many storylines for next season and if they kill her off they will have a hell lot of stories to tell, although any of the stories would make sense without CMM. That’s my guess to Honey, that Hil is not coming back because of Chad..
I always watched mainly because of L&P, and now that they’re gone.. I don’t know. In my mind is this seasons finale going to be the series finale 
And I’m completely satisfied with that actually. Everyone will get their happy ending this season finale, so that means a perfect ending for me =) I wish Chad&Hilarie aaalll the luch in the world for the future! And I hope to see a lot of new great things of them coming, maybe even eventually will they meet on a movie, or whatever, in the future again and we can enjoy their perfect chemistry together again <3 Because that’s what I’m going to miss the most *tears*

As far as I’m concerned, next week is going to be my series finale of the show. It’ll be a completely new show next year, especially with two new characters (REALLY LAME). I’ll watch with caution but I can feel it becoming storyline-less show likke 90210. I’m really unhappy.

This is an enormous slap in the face to one tree hill fans. Since season 1 the future of the show has been shaky but dedicated fans stood by the show as well as the cast. I dont think that any other show has such a loyal fan base. It would not have killed Chad to sign on for one more season and end the show in a way that the fans deserve. What in the world is Nathan gonna do without his brother, and Haley do without her bestfriend, and Brooke gonna do with out P.Sawyer! These were key realationships to the show, and I truly feel as if I’ve lost a bestfriend. This is just devestating…..

I have heard that season 6 will end on a good note, and I am glad to hear it, cause it will make it easier for me to let go. I think that at this point it is safe to say that the season finale will be the last episode for me unless Peyton and Lucas come back for the series finale. I dont expect to be watching next season. I hope Mark knows that his show just tanked. It is not so much about Chad and Hilarie, but about Lucas and Peyton. Within the core five, they play such a huge role. How do you carry on a show that was more or less based around Lucas’ relationship with Peyton and his relationship with Nathan without Lucas and Peyton. This is not a soap opera. You can not bring in two new characters in what was probably going to be the last season any way, but definitely will be know, and think that we are going to care about them as much as we do Lucas and Peyton. Not that Brooke, Nathan, and Haley are not important characters in their own right, but I can’t imagine Haley without her best friend Lucas, or Brooke without her best friend Peyton. I can’t imagine Nathan without his brother Lucas.
And on a different note, if Lucas and Peyton leave town or Peyton for some reason does end up dying, I will be PISSED!!! Because just a week or two ago they told us that they were still in negotiations and that would mean that they lied to us about that, because they would have had to know that they werent coming back for that to happen. I personally think that they have known for a while, because Chad sold his house in Wilmington and he and Kenzie moved back to California. I personally think the whole thing is Chad’s fault. I think that he either didn’t want to come back or they couldnt meet his demands and he decided not to resign and they didn’t want to f up their Leyton fairy tale so they decided to write them both off, which adds more power to the Hilarie video from earlier this year. If they were going to hold on to this secret for this long, I wish they had would have held on to it for another week, because it has totally tainted not only the wedding, but also the finale. I won’t even be able to enjoy watching them with the baby because I will be focusing on it being the end for them. I am just pissed and stunned at this point.
This is a show, as I have said before, that was carried by its fans. Fans of Grey’s Anatomy don’t fly to the town in films in to scope out filming or meet the stars, at least not to the point that we do. Fans of OTH get in their cars, hop on a train, or book a flight to come and visit Wilmington, because of this show, and they just officially tanked it and I don’t know about the rest of you, but I feel like as a fan, I just got SCREWED!!!

Of course i am saddened by the loss of chad and hilarie to the show. lucas was the show for awhile. but then it evolved and it became more about the group and their lives and relationshipsy, independently and dependently. I commend Hilarie and Chad for moving on because it is in their best interests. I would like to give them the benefit and not think it was a decision solely based on monetary desires. I also think that making Julian a regular will help to propel brooke’s storyline even if a large group is against this. He’s an amazing person, and I think can help bring a new revived dynamic to the show. I am kind of scared who the two new characters will be. Perhaps some long lost parents or siblings or even a foster child who strayed. The possibilities are endless and after last night I have full confidence that if worse came to worst, then james and joy and sophia and austin can carry the show. Mark Schwahn definitely gave me renewed confidence and faith in him.

With this news I sure hope that Peyton does NOT die on Monday. I’d rather them ride off together happily with the baby than for Lucas to just take off after she dies. What’s with the shows having epic weddings and tragic endings his season! Off topic but Izzie is my favorite on Grey’s and thats obviously not going to end well. & with Peyton being my favorite, its going to really suck seeing both of my favorite characters leaving my favorite shows. I might stick around for season 7 just out of curiousity, but i have a feeling that it wont be convincing…

Just because she’s leaving doesnt mean she’s going to die! We’ve seen all the photos, we know she lives. And theres no way that they would waste money doing two alternate episodes with two alternate endings. Sorry but I cant see that happening. Like it says, its just a permanent honeymoon. Im sure with that final scene with Leyton & Anna they just leave OTH forever for reasons we will find out next season.
Anyways, I am so sad seriously.. I cant imagine OTH without Leyton. Now we have Brulian, Naley and.. another couple? Or two characters, whatever. I hope they can make this work.. Im going to watch next Season for Naley and my new favorite couple Brulian. I know that even if I hate it, Ill have some hope that it will get better. And I hope this can introduce some new storylines.

well i was having an ok day til i read this. this sucks ASS! seriously. then again it hasn’t been the same show for a long time. after monday’s episode, i’m out. the writing has seriously become so pathetic, i can’t take it anymore.
these newcomers, mia and chase, millie, julian (he’s the only one i like)….if i have to hear about how jamie is a genius one more time i’m going to scream. i can’t wait til it’s over. too many complaints to name about the show i once adored.
i’ll follow hilarie burton with her southern gothic productions and wish chad & kenzie the best, but…sayonara to one tree hill after monday.

Maybe I just don’t understand how it works but how can you not come up with something that makes everyone happy. I cannot believe they are both leaving because contracts were not worked out. It is all just so unbelievable. I am newer to watching OTH and have watched a lot of DVDs to catch up, i mean a lot. I was also able to go visit Wilmington this year and meet some – which at the moment i think makes it harder.
It stinks because you do fall in love with the characters as you watch and now two are leaving. I think i am in shock. I dont know these people at all but still am truly saddened that neither side was able to work something out. Just crazy. I am not sure where i stand now I am going to have to let it sink in:) I know it is just a TV show but it is one i have grown attached too (and that includes all people and places). Change is hard sometimes:’( Thank you for allowing us to post.

I knew this was coming for awhile. It just pains me to hear the official word. I started watching the show because of Peyton and I refuse to watch OTH without her. It was a good run. Oh well. What bothers me is that they seem to be wrapping up the series now. I can’t see how they could even come back for a 7th season. They should just end it now. Goodbye OTH. I just hope that they leave town together and it is all happy because if not I am going to be SEVERELY ticked off. They can play it off as they wanted to get away from everything or Lucas got an offer to do the movie or book thing or Peyton got an offer to move her label somewhere. I just don’t think the other characters or fans could recover from them killing off someone. And at least if they don’t kill them off there is the opportunity for GUEST STARING APPEARANCES.
Honestly, as of right now I don’t think I will be an avid viewer anymore. If I happen to think about it I’ll watch but besides that I just don’t see being as addicted as I am now without Lucas and Peyton.

okay, my heart just sunk, my heart is broken and I don’t know if it will ever heal. I’m truly heart broken.
I’ve been a hard core leyton fan and one tree hill fan since the pilot. I’ve loved Leyton since the pilot. But to tell you the truth I only started watching because at the time I was a huge fan of Chad. But my obsession with the show became more. I couldn’t miss an episode or I would freak out. Everyone who knows me knows that if I do miss I’ll try any where to find it. So when I say this it is from the bottom of my heart. This show I have grown with since I was a sophmore in high school to now a junior in college. So I can say that I’ve been through the ups and downs with this show. Not knowing if the show was going to survive from one season to the next, but happy when it did. I was always excited for the new storylines that were involved and when Leyton finally got together I was so happy.
This was very hard to read because both chad and hilarie are amazing actors. I’m tearing up just writing this. Chad and Hilarie brought Lucas and Peyton to life. Without them we won’t have the amazing couple we have today. This just makes it so much more harder to see them go. I’ve grown attach to them as Leyton as many of you have. So I honestly can say this that I don’t think Season 7 will be as good without them. I think they will lose a bunch of lp fans when they have already lost so many the brucas fans.
From a true fan that has stuck with the show since the beginning I don’t know if I’m up for another season without my favorite couple. I mean it’s hard enough that they are leaving because chad doesn’t want to do it any more. Which I think is a bunch of crap! I mean this show is what made him big and where he has gotten today. And I can understand that Hilarie would leave because of Chad but I don’t think it’s fair to her.
Another reason for not watching is Leyton has also made this show what it is. The love and friendship that they have for each other. This show has helped me throughout my life the past 6 years and Leyton a very big part of that. When my grandfather died I turned to this show so I don’t know if I’m really up for another heart break next season. I mean I love naley and jamie and brooke but It’s not the same without Lucas and Peyton. The couple that you didn’t know if they would ever get together but did and then they weren’t sure if they belonged together but found their way back to each other.
So I’m terribly sad with this right now. I was on such a high when I watched the episode last night and to read this I’m just truly heart broken and I don’t know if I’ll ever recover. Even if this is just a show and they are just characters that tell the story, they help me more with my life then some people could ever know. Weather you agree with me or not this is how I feel.
But I will try to watch, but if it feels like there’s a whole missing in my heart then that’s the end.

I can’t say that I’m surprised to hear this but I’m really not that disappointed. In my opinion, Nathan and Haley have stepped up to become a great story line especially if Nathan was to get picked up for the NBA. Plus, I love the idea of bringing Julian on full time because Brooke really needs a good man and I loved the way he stood up to Victoria last night.

Honestly, I think we all knew this was going to happen. They get more screentime then anybody else so they wanted more money, more money then the network wanted to give out so they cut them. A lot of people thought Mark wouldn’t continue without them but he needs a job so he will *try* and make it work. Even though I’m not a huge fan of Luke/Chad or Payton I’m a huge fan of Hilarie and am confused on why she wouldn’t sign on, in fact I would probably bet that she would have but Mark or other execs didn’t want to without Chad signed which sucks for Hilarie but thats how the industry works.
I will admit though, that I’m more of a Brooke fan then I was of L/P. Always have been, but bringing two new characters in? ehh.. not sounding good to me. It will now more then likely be the last season unless there is a miraculous increase in ratings (doubtful) so why not just give the remaining characters more screen time.

oohh myy….this is as terrible as news could get oth wise. you think that out of everyone, the CREATOR would know that his show is based on lucas/peyton and their interactions with people. IF i were in his shoes, i would call season 6 it. this way, everyone is happy, it ends all happy and lovey dovey and the fans are satisfied. I would be completely and uttterly happy if it ended mon Monday, it is better than forcing this show to be cancelled. Its not just that Leyton is leaving, if any core 5 character left- it would suck- let alone two.
as for Chad Michael Murray- this show made you who you are. You told people to “come and blog and complain” well, here we are. complaining and crying and ultimately hating you. Congratualtions, you managed to end an extremely amazing show that made it through so much over the course of 6 years, in a few months. For that, i applaud you. Season 7 is gonna suck. As for Hilarie and Chad, I predict and hope their careers tank and they both go bankrupt. They are self-centered bastards who obviously have no respect for the fans that made them who they are today.
On a bright note, more airtime for the cast members who have been neglected this past season. My predictions on the 2 new regulars:Sam and Julian.
BTW, Mark should open season 7 with Haley getting a phone call that their plane crashed and Luke,Peyton, and baby are all dead. Them just leaving is completely unbelievable. What about BFFs peyton and brooke, and haley and lucas. And need we be reminded that Nathan and luke are brothers. GRRRRRR

even though this is devastating to me and i cant imagine the show without hilarie… i don’t think that’s any reason to get nasty about either one of them leaving. it’s their life and 6 years is a long time to do the same show. I know especially with hilarie she has alot to look forward to with sogopro and im sure chad does too.. its very childish to call names or criticize. they have given us alot over the past 6 years and im happy that they gave so much to these characters… i love the character of peyton.. she has always been my favorite and i’m gonna miss her.. but i will still watch and love the other characters the same! i will look forward to see new projects with hilarie and chad and wish them nothing but the best and good luck in the future!

I am so pissed off right now! I’ve watched last nights episode twice now and it just gets better everytime and today I got home and saw the new promo for next week and have just been so excited and then I get online and I read that Chad and Hilarie aren’t going to be back. That makes me extreamely sad because they are the reason I watch this show. The show I’m sure will still be good but I don’t think it’s going to be as good. I can’t say for sure whether I will be watching season seven but I know I won’t be watching it every Monday like I do now. I always look forward to Mondays because of One Tree Hill. It doesn’t matter what goes on in my day as long as I get some Lucas and Peyton monday nights. I really have no reason to watch the show anymore. I would love for this to be a total fake out. They said it wasn’t an official annoucement so I would love for Thrusday to roll around and them be like Chad and Hilarie signed, but I know it won’t happen. I live in a complete dream world obviously. I don’t know how they are going to make this exit. If Peyton dies I guess Lucas could take off with his kid and just leave Tree Hill, but if Peyton doesn’t die what are you they going to do take off with their newborn baby after they made a big deal for episodes about how good of friends Brooke and Peyton are and how they have to spend more time together? Thats crazy. I don’t want to Peyton to die at all and if things are looking that way I’m going to freak out. I won’t be able to look at Mark Schwahn the same. I’ve always enjoyed his writing and the work he has done, but if he kills off Peyton I don’t want to hear any crap about how its what he felt was right. It’s like he knew what they were going to decide the whole time and didn’t even bother to think about Hilarie and Chad being part of the cast for season seven. I really wish they would stay. What is Chad gonna do. He has acting, but it’s not like he has been in anything big. I know Hilarie has her new production company to fall back on and I wish her all the luck, but I still feel like Lucas and Peyton should have that family everthings perfect moment. Hopefully I will get that next Monday and if I do I will thank Mark for the nice ending, but if he ends this tragically with Peyton dying and Lucas just taking off with their child I don’t know if I’m going to be able to thank Mark for anything or continue to be a fan of the show.

This sucks, personally! I’m 30 years old and this show gave you hope of ending up with your highschool sweetheart and it dealt with issues of sex, drugs, friendship, everyday stresses that kids face. I’ve read a couple of the above comments, looks like CW will be losing quite a few viewers. I’ll still watch since I like “Brooke”. But, otherwise….it just won’t be the same. Hopefully you guys have a change of heart and keep the show going with the same characters. Or at least leave it to where BOTH characters can come back.

as for two new characters…i think this is false rumors to get everyone hyped up. even though there are major mark haters out there who may not believe this…mark loves one three hill and its hardcore fans. i honestly believe he wouldn’t do something like that. it’s been stated that nino’s character is coming back for some time next season and austin who plays julian is signed for at least two more seasons. could it be these two?
why start up a completely new storyline six years into the show just to ‘fill space’?

personally, i’m excited for the new season. mark has treated fans one tree hill fans well and i think he’s done a great job with the series.

Ok, i know everyone’s pretty mad right now, but is there really any need to hope CH fail at their future careers? I mean is that really needed? The truth is none of us know anything about what went down so there’s no need to blame everything on CH. Simple fact is they fufilled their contracts and stayed loyal up until that point, so they aren’t obligated to come back. It’s all up to the network to decide whether to continue or not, and they made their decision no matter how horrible it may be.
Mark’s also knew about Chad’s decision for awhile now, and despite knowing this signed up to have a season 7 in the first place so i’m just saying there’s more to this story than just “CH didn’t want to come back” or “they want more money”. The truth is OTH should NOT be getting a season 7 by any means because it’s wayy past it’s prime and heading quickly towards rock bottom.

i love coming here and into forums reading everyone get all riled up about a storyline they hate or love. it’s passion and loyalty at its best.
i love one tree hill. i started watching mid season 5 and fell in love with it. the show was good then and it’s still good now. i bought seasons 1-5 and i love it all.
chad and hil leaving sucks, but i love the show, i love what it represents and i love it’s honesty. sure, it’s crazy and unrealistic at times but if it wasn’t…where’s the fun and excitement in that?
season seven is gonna be different but it’ll be good.
hopefully chad and hil will make guests appearances if they really are not part of the cast anymore.
i hope for the best for the show and for them

This is the Great Depression of one tree hill history! The two main characters on which the WHOLE FREAKING SHOW is based are LEAVING…makes no sense to me AT ALL. I am a huge leyton fan and Schwann has taken serious risks to keep the show going but i dont think ANYTHING will save this situation. I am sooooooo sad about this: CMM <3333 AND THE LEYTON STORYLINES ARE MAINLY THE REASON WHY I WATCH. and they are screwed for the ratings and loss of fans. IM still gonna watch cuz i live and breathe this show but ill have an angry face on the whole time.

They should have learned from killing off Marissa in the OC…

all i have to say is that i cant even explain the pain i am feeling. this is truly the worst news ever. i dont think i can even bear to watch one tree hill any longer. i feel like crying, and this is really a bad day now. how can they do this to the fans, and to one tree hill. there is no oth without them can’tthey see that.

If I do watch still it would only be cause Hilarie asked us to. But I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to watch season 7. I’m definitely not going to plan my schedule around it like I used to.
I have no respect for chad though now. I hope his career tanks even more. Mean but I’m so pissed off right now.

this is not that big of a suprise. since we have pretty much known that cmm didnt want to come back. i guess he bit the hand that fed him. its not marks fault that they are not returing.
the show has changed so much over the years. we have hardly seen lucas interact with any character other then peyton this season. the show is going to do fine next season, yes it will be weird but shows change all the time. i trust mark to give us a great season.
as for the ones who are not going to watch next, because leyton wont be there. bye. there are still plenty of fans who are going to tune in no matter what.

Sigh, was hoping it would not come to this.
I can not imagine this show without Lucas and Petyon. This show will not be the same without any of the Core characters. It is a shame that the CW did not do EVERYTHING in their power to keep Chad and Hilarie.
It is a sad day for OTH fans and although I am sad, I wish the show well and all the best to Chad and Hilarie.

Personally, I am a brooke davis fan and I can not wait what mark has in store for us. people request for a s7 and when we got one you guys complain about it. That’s really too sad…
First I am a LP fan. So I am really frustrated that we won’t have LP family time. I mean we’ll never see LP struggling with parenthood, or any interaction between the baby and the core characters. That’s not fair. We go from a wedding to “Peyton might die” to LP leave Tree Hill. We won’t even have the time to be happy that Peyton’s not dead, that LP will just be gone.That’s not right…
Plus,I am even more pissed off that we won’t have all the interactions between Lucas/Haley, Brooke/Peyton, Lucas/Nathan, Lucas/Jamie, Peyton/Haley…That’s too wierd!! That’s like cutting off Pacey and Jen from Dawson’s Creek. Stupid!!
I was already missing “the group spirit” in S5. S6 got better since we could see the girls more together as well as more Nathan/Lucas time, and I was hoping that in S7 we’ll get more Nathan/Peyton and Nathan/Brooke..I guess I had too much hope!!
I mean I can take less LP scenes and the show being more focused on Naley and Brulian..even as a Leyton fan, I wish the two other couples would have had more scenes this season…but no matter what storylines Mark has in mind for those two couples, I think not having Peyton and Lucas to help them going through any situation will definitively not feel the same.
I might watch the first episode to see what kind of lame excuse they’re going to find to explain LP’s absence..but no I won’t be watching the show.

The thing that makes me mad the most is that Mark lied to the fans. In the video a couple of weeks ago he said they are still in negotiations. Obviously that wasn’t true, he was just toying with the fans and gave them false hope.
I find it hilarious they choose to confirm it after the wedding and Peyton is in a life or death situation. The cw must really want more viewers, unfortunately its not going to work.

I have to say I’m pretty sad about it. I mean I had a feeling it was coming but I though maybe something would’ve been worked out and they would come back. But, For me Leyton is shuch a big part of the show .Since the very first episode, before brooke and everything, It was a story between two brothers (Lucas and Nathan), their love of basketball, and the girl caught betwween them (Peyton). And also Lucas struggling for his feelings for her. I mean They were the story, and now you take part of the story out, you aren’t left with much of a story. I mean it’s not even the Leyton relationship I’ll miss completely, its also the Lucas-Haley friendship, The Brooke-Peyton friendship and the bond between Lucas-Nathan. I don’t know, I just feel like they should’ve just ended the show after season 6. I’m curious to see some of the story lines for next season,and how it will play out,but the show just won’t be the same for me.

Well, hi I love the Brazilian series, the more I am very saddened by this news, Tree Hill is not the same without the main actors, it would be more just now finishing the series because, as we shall see, with the same glare in the eyes a story told without Chad is hilarie,well I think that was a big stupid what the producers and wc did, commit the same mistakes from The OC, the Leyton and I do not go more that watch this series was a major success in the world, still had great story to be told with 5 as we will see the conversations of Brooke and Peyton or Halley and Luke (love it), I like many fans, we are sad and I am almost very, very sad, because it should end now does not start again because it has already been started jumping 4 years and now going to be sure, the excuse is that good English, kisses to all of Brazil

As a Leyton fan, I’ve been waiting for the weddind and the baby so long…And now ithat’s almost a dream come true, it’s already done because they’re leaving. That’s a rude way to thank the fans who have supported the shos since the pilot, included myself.
We got to see Jamie growing up, but nothing will be told about Leyton’s baby, there were a lot of storylines to tell!
Well, as much as I love OTH, with Lucas/ Chad and Peyton/Hilarie leaving, I WON’T BE WATCHING NEXT SEASON. Damn, it was a really good show, but the CW has decided to screw

Seeing as I only normally watch the Brooke scenes anyway, I’ll still be watching the next season. But, I do know that a lot of people only watch for Leyton or Brucas or Breyton or Laley or whatever. And without CH, a lot of the core relationships will vanish too. I’m defintely gonna miss Breyton and Brucas scenes, but I’ll live and I’m definitely exited to see where the next season goes. Mark is gonna have a lot of pressure on him to make it work, though.

I will carry on watching the only scenes I liked with Lucas or Peyton was Brucas scenes and we havnt had any of them for ages anyway! Its funny because I have been watching Season 3 lately and watched the Epi’s when Peyton went to Savannah to be with Jake and LOVED her in them! They so should have stuck with Nayley, Brucas & Jeyton, but it can’t happen now so im all for a fresh start for Season 7 as Season 6 really sucked whether you are a Brucas, Nayley or Leyton fan. It really was bad.

Look at it this way, this whole idea is wayy better than the alternative they were orginally going to go with. Orginally Lucas was going to die in the finale, but the network decided against it so they decided to get rid of Hilarie also. It’s a sucky situation all around but Chad was never going to come back and i really dont’ blame him. I hate that Hilare had to be inadvertantly effected by this but this is better than killing off any of the main characters, because if this was done it would place a dark cloud over all of the past seasons.
So, really this is the best option for this situation. Although i think the perfect solution to all of this would be to cancel it so we can end this season with a series finale, but its whatever. The finale will practically feel like a series finale anyways so thats as good as you can get it.

I don’t know if we will able to see the pics of CH from the last day of filming. I was told was that the crew was very emotional as were CH. They apparently took a lot of pictures of CH hugging each other. The crew was clapping very loudly when CH finished their last scenes too.

They probably should have ended way before this, a lot of people have said it has really gone downhill this season, and the writing has been terrible and what not. I don’t think this season has been particularly bad, but it has defintely not been up to the standards of other seasons. So, I’m just holding out hope that Mark can pull it all together for the next season. I’ll definitely give it a chance.

I’m sad because I’ve been in love with this show since its inception and Lucas especially is a main part of it. But I will still watch. It is my favorite show on tv. If the show ended completely, there’d be a tiny piece of me ending too because its become a huge part of my youth. I don’t know how it’s going to be without Lucas and Peyton. Its scary because the premise of the show was the 2 brothers and the father that they shared. So without one of the brothers, it’s weird. But over the last couple of years, the show has been more about the town of Tree Hill and the characters that are found there rather than just these two brothers. That being said, there is a core to this show and the core is the 5, Lucas, Nathan, Peyton, Haley, and Brooke. 3 of 5 isn’t bad but it will be different and I’m completely open to giving it a chance. Mark Schwann is very good at keeping me tuned in. I love ONE TREE HILL. I can’t wait for the new season. Bring it on!!!!!

Thank god they’re leaving and now the show can focus on characters that actually don’t make you fall asleep. im so happy theres going to be another season because last night seemed like a series finale to me! it makes it even better that they won’t be on the show boring me into a stupor. besides lucas never smiles andalways looks pissed thank god I don’t have to look at his angry looking ass anymore. besides julian is a much better actor and looks better too. chad michael murray as alwas been a selfish ass dude in his interviews, etc. so its not surprising that he doesn’t care about his castmates career at all. he ruined her career regardless if she was done with OTH or not. anyways glad to hear there will be another season and glad to hear it won’t have them in it.

i miss what one tree hill used to be. i miss lucas’s voice overs, all the meaningful quotes they had on the show. and the opening credits with de graw singing “i dont wanna be.” i think there’s just too many characters that one tree hill basically strayed away from its original heart. and now that lucas is gone, i dont think it’s still going to be one tree hill.
