‘One Tree Hill’ Finale: How We Would Have Said Goodbye To Leyton

Posted by Amy with 74 Comments

And finally, did I miss something?

In the final minutes, without explanation or any clear motivation, Lucas turns to his wife and says, “Take a ride with me, Peyton Sawyer,” and they drive off into the distance … never to return. Ever. Seriously? I know die-hard “Tree Hill” fans will be with me on this one. THAT’S IT? Come on, “OTH” writers, If Leyton were going to ride into the sunset, they should’ve at least been dragging Dan’s dead body behind them. Too morbid? Well I’ve got five other possible endings I think would satisfy fans more than the subdued send-off we had to settle for.

So without further adieu, I give you my list of five alternate “OTH” season endings:

1. Lucas and Peyton both die. Hey, hear me out on this one. Peyton dies of complications from childbirth as expected, and Lucas subsequently dies of a broken heart. (He does have a heart condition, remember?) They’d still get their happy ending — in heaven! It would totally be like the end of “The Notebook.” Oh, and Brooke and Julian would adopt baby Sawyer. Too perfect!

2. Peyton tells Lucas the baby she just had isn’t actually his — it’s Julian’s! The news makes Lucas so mad he skips town after partaking in a really hot fight scene with Julian. Peyton is so overcome with shame that she also flees Tree Hill. It’s not very happy, but I promise, it would’ve been a really good fight scene.

3. Lucas and Peyton ride into the sunset — but first, they actually explain to everyone where they are going. It’s so crazy it could work.

4. The season ends with last week’s episode: Lucas and Peyton’s wedding. The episode left us with Peyton collapsed on the floor. The cliff-hanger would’ve killed us for the whole summer!

5. Crazy nanny Carrie comes back (from the dead?) to steal Lucas and Peyton’s baby, which sends them on a cross-continental hunt for their missing daughter and said crazy nanny.

OK, OK. Maybe after all they’ve been through in six seasons, these two deserved their happy ending. Lucas and Peyton, you were this generation’s Joey and Pacey: the overly dramatic couple we couldn’t help but root for. We’ll miss you.

Episode 23 Forever and Almost Always Quotes

Posted by Amy with 4 Comments

Yes, this is last week’s :)   Thanks, Kaitlyn!

Lucas: Sometimes when you look back at your life certain moments stand out: the day you graduated high school, your wedding day, the day you found out you were going to be a father. Most of the time they happen in that order. Most of the time.

Lucas: You know, just when I thought it was weird that I’m going graduation, pregnancy, marriage… I remember that you went marriage, pregnancy, graduation. And I just don’t feel so bad.
Haley: Well, I’m glad I can be your weird example

Jamie: Is this really necessary Uncle Skills?
Skills: Well considering the way you got snatched up by that crazy-ass nanny of yours at Luke’s last wedding. Yeah, it is.
Jamie: But I’m on a leash; it’s embarrassing.
Skills: Tough kid. We not taking any chances. Now you got that walkie-talkie, right? Alright, talk into it like I taught you.
Jamie: Denzel this is McCulley. Denzel this is McCulley. All clear.
Skills: Okay good work. And don’t even think about trying to go to the bathroom.

Peyton: Okay what do you think?
Brooke: I think you and your 8 month old sidekick look beautiful.

Brooke: Are you scared?
Peyton: I’m scared I’m gonna miss it all. My life with Lucas and the baby. And my friends and my family, and you.
Brooke: It’s not fair.
Peyton: When I think of everyone else out there that goes through their life alone, and then I think of all the amazing years I’ve gotten to spend with my beautiful, beautiful best friend Brooke Davis. I kind of feel sorry for everyone else.

Peyton: Lucas Scott… We’ve been through so much together. And despite how confused I’ve been or lost I might have gotten there was always you. Finding me and saving me. You deserve to be adored so that’s what we’re gonna do, your baby and me. We are going to adore you for years to come. I am so terribly in love with you. And I always will be.

Lucas: Peyton, I’ve loved you since the first time i saw you. And this ring and these words are just simply a way to show the rest of the world what has been in my heart for as long as I’ve known you. I love you, Peyton Elizabeth Sawyer. I always have and I always will.

Haley: I believe in true love. I believe in love at first sight. I believe love conquers all. And that doesn’t mean there’s not gonna be hard days or difficult things to deal with, because there will be. But finding that person who does it for you and knowing that person loves you back it just makes everything so much easier. “Peyton Sawyer will become Peyton Scott.” That was the dream. And here we are 10 years later and we all get to witness today a dream come true.

Julian:Unbelievable
Missy: I know, right
Julian: She’s so not making me jealous with the guy from Dancing With The Stars.
Missy: No, that was Drew. He was so awesome on that.
Julian: Whatever, Laguna Beach then.
Chase: Nah, that was some other tool.

Julian: Sorry I was just hanging at the bar with the guys.
Brooke: Like who?
Julian: Oh you know, just my boys. We’re like a gang of guys. Just a band of boys. Like a boy band.

Mouth: Haley said you came out here for some air. Thought you might want to talk.
Nathan: She told you.
Mouth: Nah, I got it off the wire at the station. Sorry man.
Nathan: I’m happy for Nino. I hope he sticks. It’s not about that.
Mouth: Sure. Listen, I uh called the Chiefs to get a quote and they asked me if I’d seen you – said you were unexcused from practice.
Nathan: The wedding was last minute, I wanted to be there for Luke, Bobby just didn’t see it that way.
Mouth: Is that all it was?
Nathan: I don’t know Mouth. Maybe this was just a pipedream that I needed to let go of at some point. Get on with my life in the real world, you know?
Mouth: Well, I’m around if you need anything.
Nathan: Thanks man. See you in there.
Mouth: Nate, for what it’s worth if I could play the game like you can I’d play wherever I could til they wouldn’t let me play anymore.
Nathan: Thanks man.

Nathan: Haley, what are you doing?
Haley: Kiss me.
Nathan: Haley James Scott, this is the women’s room, you’re a teacher, and our son is out there.
Haley: The door’s locked, I’m not a teacher anymore, and our son is dancing. Now kiss me. Even if you’re not in the NBA, you’re my husband, and you’re so damn sexy babe.

Julian: How’s Sammy?
Brooke: I don’t know. She went to live with her birth mom
Julian: I’m sorry, that must’ve been really hard for you. Sam too, you know she loves you. I wish you would’ve called and told me.
Brooke: I’m sorry Julian I can’t do this.
Julian: You can’t what? Dance with me?
Brooke: I can’t. I miss you.

Nathan: I skipped practice to be here today. I didn’t want to miss it. I’m tired of missing everything.
Haley: Are you really getting tired of missing everything, or is your ego just bruised cuz Nino got called up?
Nathan: I’m tired of failing.

Julian: Hi. I saw the light on I thought maybe Brooke was here. I’m Julian.
Victoria: Of course you are. Victoria Davis.
Julian: Of course you are. Would you ask Brooke to call me please?
Victoria: You do realize the name of the company is Clothes Over Bros, yes?
Julian: My father always made me feel like I wasn’t good enough. Any time I had any success he would remind me of my failures. I see that in Brooke. She’s so talented and good-hearted and beautiful, but she carries around this feeling that she’s not good enough. And she has you to thank you for that. Good work.
Victoria: Are you finished?
Julian: No, not yet. I love your daughter. I’m in love with her. And one of these days she’s gonna love me back and when she does I want you to understand something: you’re either gonna learn to be nice to her, or you’re not gonna be in her life. Nice to meet you Victoria. Feels like I’ve known you all my life.
