Hilarie Burton Confirms She Will Not Make a Season 7 Appearance

The question directed at me that I keep getting asked over and over and then (wait for it)…….OVER, is if I will be returning to One Tree Hill.Now you all know how grateful I am for the time I had on that show. I grew up there and I found myself in that environment. But the answer is no.

Ok, too bad no Hilary for season 7. That’s ok with me. But I still think Hilary and Chad will return to OTH someday, maybe in season 8 or if ever, in future succeeding seasons. With the way things are going, yes I think we’ll get a season 8 or even more. I’m speculating that Peyton and Lucas will return to OTH not just for the series finale but for a whole season. Maybe the final season, whether it would be season 8, 9, etc. I’ll reserve my theories and insights as to why I think Luke and Peyton will return on another post next time. But hey, I could be right and I could be wrong. Just feel free to agree or disagree. Whatever happens, I have faith in Mark.

Awww No!!! I was really hoping for her and Chad to do a guest star for one or two episodes.
Too bad, I understand where she is coming from but I wish there was a way Mark could work something out with them. Then again there might be bad blood between them all, who knows what went down.
I do hope this changes for the series finale or even season finale they can be brought back with Baby Sawyer. It would be a great ending. I’ll keep my fingers crossed though!!

Yeah it really is to bad, but I could totally understand where she is coming from. She made a hard choice to move on and it is time to continue keep moving forward. I loved her analogies of relating peoples personalities to bodies of water. She is a river, cool! She seems like such a great person and I would so love to hang out with her and Joy for a day! They both have this artsiness about them that I just love.

im a LP fan but its time to let go its obvius that her and chad will not coming back to the show and i just respect her even more she is telling this beause hilarie dont want people to have false hope

It’s really sad but honestly I wasn’t even expecting her to come back, even for one episode. I just wish they would speak more about Leyton on the show. It’s like they have been completely forgotten :/

honestly coming back to one tree hill would be a step back for both chad and hilarie i think hilarie is right you move on then you move on

This breaks my heart. Awww.
I truly understand Hilarie and how she wants to keep on moving forward. But there is just something in me, a really huge part. Where Peyton Sawyer is a huge part of my life, and i could really relate to her. And even though my brain was aware of that my favorite actress werent returning, i think i forgot to tell my heart. And it kinda makes me sad that it seems like Hilarie doesn’t want anything to do with this show. It made her to where she is today, that famous talented actress that she is. And i was watching the very first episode of one tree hill the other day, and i saw how a huge part Hilarie was on the show.. And it made me miss her again, and Chad. It makes me sad because im scared that i won’t see them appear in anything anymore.. And they are both my favorite actor and actress of all time.
I miss them both truly, but Hilarie is doing great with her vlog SOGOPRO so i like to follow her there and see what she is up to. Such a goof, ehhe and i like that she’s an river person rofl

I didn’t think she would come back. However, if 7.24 is our VERY LAST episode ever.. Leyton better come back. Please. It would not be the same if the whole gang wasn’t there. Besides, if Brooke and Julian got married, Peyton needs to be there. I think I would have been fine if they didn’t come back at all, but they didn’t give us the best Leyton departure: we didn’t get a Laley scene and it was those two against the world from the beginning and we didn’t get a brotherly bonding scene. I’m still a little mad at the writer’s for not giving us that!

i guess this basically means chad will not coming back either but honestly i wuld not see a point of one coming back withaut the other because most people that wants lp back is the lp fans the others fans dont even want lp back and are liking the show more without lp so for the lp fans lucas coming for a apparence and peyton not or peyton coming for a apparence and lucas not would not make the lp fans happy at last me i dont see a point

Honestly, I can’t figure out why people still think this may be the last season . . . They signed the actors on for a two year contract, and the show consistently brings in higher ratings than all the other shows that they actually ADVERTISE. So, it seems like a no brainer to me. Why would they cancel it?

agreed. this should be OTH’s last.they’ve stretched it far enough, and the storylines just aren’t as good as they once were. too bad about hilarie (and chad) im still gonna be holding out faith for the series finale. it would be a HUGE dissappointment if everyone wasn’t there for that.

I really wish she would come do a guest appearance especially for the final episode. This kind of makes me think something else happen in the room with TPTB. Like it really was not Chad or Hilarie choice. I really hope though Mark can work something out b/c no matter what anyone says the show is not same to me. I think they were two of the characters especially Lucas that linked all the characters together. Everyone is saying this season is great but some of the SL are just recycled from seasons before with a few twist to me. But what do I know I one of those who loved season 6. I have loved all the season until this season.

i guess chad will not coming back either and like someone alredy said their would be no point for a apparence for just lucas or just peyton the only fans that want them back are the lp fans and this fans would not be happy if lucas or peyton coming back for a apparence alone the point for this fans are to see lucas,peyton and sawyer again not just lucas or just peyton the other fans dont even want lucas or peyton back

Best season 7 news I have heard so far.
Wouldn’t want Peyton or Lucas to return to this version of Tree Hill for ANY reason.

I’m glad shes not returning. She is so much better than what this show has become. Letting go of the old and moving forward <3 She's amazing and I'm glad I had the time to fall in love with her character when the show used to be worth watching.

She’s really not better than the show. She never was. She was very fortunate that the casting directors gave her a shot because her inexperience in the acting world was very obvious right from the beginning. She has grown as actress but still, she is not better than the show. While I hope she continues to pursue acting roles I think an acting coach could really help her a lot.
Also, since it’s pretty much out in the open, does anyone know how far along in her pregnancy she is?

i hope that peyton and lucas will be back.they were the best and i loved them.the only reason i am watching season7 is to hope that they will be back .my biggest question is will they be coming back for guest appearances?i really really hope they come back.they were like a fairytale and i loved the drama between them.they were the MAIN COUPLE and you cannot give up the main couple.my heart will stay broken until i see them again on one tree hill.

Did you disregard the entire opening thread? No guest appearances babe…EVER. I’m going to disagree for the thousandth time that Lucas and Peyton were the main couple and probably get attacked because of the disillusionment. Clearly, the relationship that has endured on the show is Nathan and Haley. The bitterness is so sad. I dare say almost every episode this season with the exception of one, has posted higher ratings than the painstakingly long anticipated “epic” wedding of Leyton. Needless to say, the ratings and the show are doing just fine in LP’s absence.
