Posted on November 11th, 2009 by Amy
The network’s new drama series, Life UneXpected, will premiere Monday, January 18 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), following the return of original episodes of One Tree Hill that night in the 8:00-9:00 p.m. timeslot.
On March 8, Life UneXpected will move to the 8:00-9:00 p.m. timeslot, followed by the return of original episodes of the pop-culture sensation Gossip Girl from 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET.
On April 19, after Life UneXpected has completed its initial 13-episode run, the Monday-night schedule will finish the broadcast season with One Tree Hill at 8:00 p.m. and Gossip Girl at 9:00 p.m.

so we’re going march/april without any episodes? do we know if there is a christmas hiatus too?
November 11th, 2009 at 4:54 pm
There is always a christmas hiatus. I know it’s 2 months sans OTH, but isn’t it usually like that except they give us two new episodes break for 4, 1 new episode, break for two? Or something really stupid? lol. As long as they advertise when they come back from this hiatus, it’ll be fine.
November 11th, 2009 at 4:59 pm
So, are we getting 22 or 24 episodes this season? Anyone know for sure??
November 11th, 2009 at 5:18 pm
danika, they should advertise when the show comes back. maybe one promo or two, like always. but dont expect the cw to give any other promotion to oth.
it will be the internet that will give the show the promotion like always. im glad that they are not going to screw us over with this new show.
but like i said before, good luck to life unexpected. you will be going up against some major shows, and it has no major fanbase plus its coming in the middle of the season.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:20 pm
We are getting 22 episodes. It was confirmed in another article.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
great so we will have to wait over a month? Oh well…they usually play repeats fora certain period anyway so i guess it doesnt change much. But what if Life does good and they extend their 13 eppies like they did for Vampire Diaries??? If that happens they better move it another night.
November 11th, 2009 at 6:33 pm
they probably wont extend it, since it would be the end of the season. im not sure how this show will do, i mean its going to have some pretty heavy competition on monday nights. at least oth and gg have a stable fanbase. the cw should have put it on a night that didnt have a whole lot of competition.
i did read an article calling this new show the cw’s gilmore girls. please, there was only one gilmore girls, and the cw was stupid and cancelled it.
November 11th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
this is crap. we have to have our show postponed for some crappy newbie that will last a few episodes like the beautiful life did and then get cancelled.
November 11th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
Yeah, I know we get some promotion but not enough for people to catch it.
So.. we get next week and then our first hiatus. Boo. Why can’t we go until december?
November 11th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
According to critics, this is actually supposed to be a good show that will turn the CW around.. or something like that. Fine, bring on a new show but put it on Wednesday night! Why Monday?!
November 11th, 2009 at 7:21 pm
“Life Unexpected” looked really good actually. I can’t wait to watch it. Better then half this other CW crap. Gossip Girl & Melrose Place for example. This show might actually bring them ratings, because it’s not the same thing that The CW keeps overplaying.
November 11th, 2009 at 7:27 pm
Danika, OTH has never gotten the equal promotion that deserves. Neither has Supernatural. They never will. If you haven’t realized that by now I don’t know what to tell you. lol
November 11th, 2009 at 7:49 pm
im gonna watch life unexpected. it seems like a really good show. but i agree about the wednesday night thing. i dont watch anything that night anyways. what is on the cw on wednesdays anyways…
November 11th, 2009 at 7:55 pm
America’s Next Top Model?
November 11th, 2009 at 8:28 pm
body pacific, was also supposed to bring in the ratings for the cw, and the critcs were all over that show as well. but the cw axed that show before it got a start.
i dont think this new show will fit in with the demographics of the cw, why didnt they put it on abcfamily?
November 11th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
So im confused can someone please tell
me what’s going on with one tree hills schedule Now
November 11th, 2009 at 9:45 pm
No, don’t worry, I have realized that. lol. Doesn’t mean I can’t complain about it right?
Yeah, but America’s Next Top Model will be over by January. Actually, isn’t it over next week? Then there’s nothing that night, so why not leave OTH and GG alone and put it Wednesday night.
November 11th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Ok but what is going on in march with one tree hill??????
November 11th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
what is taking tbl’s old spot?
this is why i have a feeling that if we get an 8th season, oth wont be on monday nights anymore….why cant the cw just leave it alone?
November 11th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
“Ok but what is going on in march with one tree hill??????”
It’s going to be taken off The CW, and substituted with “Life Unexpected” for six weeks.
November 11th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
Do you know if they will be filming in Wilmington in march? (march 4-10 preferably)
November 11th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
megan, from the looks of it, oth will be off for 6 wks, and so will gg.
looks like the cw screwed over both oth fans and gg fans. dont know how well that will sit if they want us to watch this new show.

http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/11/11/how-the-cw-will-shuffle-gossip-girl-and-one-tree-hill-when-life-unexpected-premieres-on-jan-18/33396
From the link/updated CW full press release:
“The Monday midseason rotation will be as follows:
January 18 – March 1
8:00-9:00 pm One Tree Hill
9:00-10:00 pm Life UneXpected
March 8 – April 12
8:00-9:00 pm Life UneXpected
9:00-10:00 pm Gossip Girl
April 19 – Season Finales
8:00-9:00 pm One Tree Hill
9:00-10:00 pm Gossip Girl”
I’m not sure if OTH’s season 7 finale will be on April 19. Can anyone confirm if that is the date of the season finale?
If it is indeed the date of the season finale, I’m trying to think if that’s a good thing or a bad thing for OTH. I’m kinda worried it might be a bad thing, especially for OTH’s ratings. Why stop OTH and then suddenly just bring it back just for the season finale? Why not just show the 2nd half of the season straight with no interruptions?
Maybe The CW made a typo error in their press release? Hehe! Maybe that’s why Dawn visited OTH a while back, to inform Mark about the schedule? Haha. Or maybe Mark Schwahn has something really big in store for us in the season finale? If that’s the case, he better have a good cliffhanger on the March 1 episode so that a lot of people will tune in to the season finale on April 19.
Btw, isn’t it a little early to have a season finale by April 19? Normally CW Fall shows have their finales during late May. Whatever happens, hopefully we’ll get a season 8.
November 12th, 2009 at 6:44 am
It means that OTH will air from April 19 thru the season finale, which will be in ay.
November 12th, 2009 at 11:56 am
Thanks for the clarification!
November 12th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
this is confusing! so does one tree hill still get their whole season? is it 22 episodes? and do you think they will be filming in feb? bc i plan on going to wilmy then
November 12th, 2009 at 3:19 pm
Yeah, it doesn’t make sense for them to have the finale in April. They would only be up to episode 18ish by then right? So you’re probably right cbs123, they just mean they the final episodes of OTH, without interruptions, starts in April and runs through until middle of May.
No, they still get their full season Nicole. 22 or 24 episodes, not sure. It’s usually around that. I think they stop filming in March or April so you’re good.
November 12th, 2009 at 5:50 pm
if we get a s8, then i wont be as mad. because right now what the cw is doing is jacked. i dont care what they say, this network doesnt care about oth or their fans.
November 12th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
the season finale shouldnt be in april, since after april 19 when the show comes back, it will only be 1 more week until may.
i have a feeling that this new show is going to feel backlash from both oth and gg fans. because the cw is screwing us over to pimp this new show. they could just put it on in tbl’s old spot, and nothing would be said.
November 12th, 2009 at 11:02 pm
The season finale is not in April. That’s when OTH returns to the line-up to finish it’s run with GG.
