TDW Exclusive: Meet The MunnRoyds!

In my Real-Life Relationships series, I wrote how One Tree Hill held the honor of being the only teen drama to ever have married cast members. But they also held the dishonor of being the only show with divorced cast members when that same couple split. I’m happy to say honor has been restored this season with the introduction of Scott Holroyd as David. Holroyd’s recurring role meant he was starring on the very same show his wife, Allison Munn, has been on as Lauren for more than a year now.

Munn and Holroyd haven’t yet had the privilege of sharing scenes together but the excitement of just working on the same set has pleased them both. They were also more than enthusiastic about doing a joint interview and officially introducing everyone to the MunnRoyds.

TeenDramaWhore: Is this your first joint interview?

Munn: This is our first joint interview–except for the man who married us. We had an interview with the man who married us and that was equally as fun.

TDW: I am very honored, then, to be your first professional joint interview.

Munn: It’s very exciting. We’re having some wine and sitting down. This is fun.

Finally!!! I was hoping that someone would do an interview with OTH’s married couple (Allison Munn & Scott Holroyd). Great interview, TDW! Really good interview!! Can’t believe Allison didn’t know who Jerry Rice was. Hahaha! Too bad Allison won’t be in the last 2 episodes. But it’s good to know that I’ll be seeing Scott on Chuck also.

Some other thoughts… I’ve seen Scott in Dirty Sexy Money and I think it’s good that he’s playing a nicer character this time around in OTH. I agree it’s possible that for some younger fans, it might be hard to understand the situation of Quinn and David. I’m pretty much in the same age as the characters of the show and I can really relate to and understand the side of Quinn and of David and where they are coming from… And I agree with Scott that it was as simple and as complicated as they just grew apart. Sometimes in life, that just happens. I have this radical theory that maybe what happened with Quinn & David is what would also happen to Lucas & Peyton if/when OTH brings them back. I just don’t see them wrapping up and giving a believable ending/closure to the whole Scott family major storyline without Lucas & Peyton. And I also can’t see them ending the series without a proper closure to the Scott family. As for Millie, Mouth & Lauren, I think Millie will eventually end up with Owen while Mouth will be with either Lauren or Rachel in the end.

We’re going to have a season 8. The power of positive thinking. Haha! I think Lucas (CMM) and Peyton (HB) will also be back by then. Maybe they might even make a surprise return/appearance in the season 7 finale. These are just some theories. Maybe I’m right, maybe I’m wrong. Who knows what will actually happen… But I do know that Mark Schwahn will definitely give us an awesome finale.
