EW Pilot Intel: ‘One Tree Hill’ grad Michaela McManus joins The CW’s ‘Nomads’

One Tree Hill alum Michaela McManus has scored the female lead in The CW’s promising Alias-esqe pilot Nomads, sources confirm to me exclusively.

The underrated McManus, who followed up her OTH run with a year-long stint as ADA Kim Greylek on Law & Order: SVU, will play a brave and resourceful Army Brat determined to earn a place in the CIA. She finds herself fighting an attraction to her handler (Mental’s Warren Kole) and a fellow agent-in-training (Friday Night Lights‘ Scott Porter).

you know none of the cw’s new shows sound that interesting, and this opinion has nothing to do with the way the cw is treating oth. i like michaela, but why would she want to come back to a network like the cw. none of their shows really go anywhere.

Good for her. Maybe this show will do well. Its sounds similar to shows that have done well on other networks.

It doesn’t sound that great. I’ll watch the pilot but I doubt I’ll watch it. I’m sure it will do better than High Society. Yuck. That show is horrible.

She’s such a bad actress, no wonder they fired her from SVU.

Good for her even though it doesn’t sound great, at least she is getting hired for work in a tough economy

I agree Lulu that none of the new shows on the network sound remotely interesting.
It is good for Michaela to get the lead, however, I would not call her underrated by any means. She totally tanked on SVU.

I do like Michaela and I’m glad she got work, although I hope it not at one tree hills expense!

It doesn’t sound that interesting but I love her and hope that you know what, if she loves it too, good for her!

I love Michaela but i hope that sucky show won’t get picked up..specially because it sounds dull and OTH is on the bubble.

I wasn’t a big fan of her on OTH, but i’m glad she got herself a lead in a show. Although it doesn’t sound like something the CW would normally pick up I hope it does. Who knows the shows can surprise you.

but maybe that’s why the CW might pick it up. They want to get out of the norm, or out of their comfort circle because like you all said the shows they’ve picked have pretty much tanked and they want something new instead of something that has been done already.

    hmm… interesting.
