8.06 Not Afraid Roundtable

Posted by Amanda with 6 Comments

1) Favorite quote of the episode?

LizzyB: Tie between Julian’s, “You want me to go as Flava Flav?” and Chuck’s, “Don’t hate, that’s how I roll!” because that’s totally something I would say!

Amy: Hands down, “You want me to go as Flava Flav?”

Amanda: I gotta go with the two above : “You want me to go as Flava Flav?” :)

2) Best costume?

LizzyB: There were some goodies but my love for Harry Potter prevails–Jaime was so darn cute with his glasses and lightning scar!

Amanda: I loved Brooke as an orange with her arms sticking out. So cute.

Amy: I have to give major props to Mia.  Wowsers!

3) Initial thoughts on Julian’s mom?

LizzyB: Bitchtoria 2.0…Brooke and Julian together have more mommy issues than Peyton!

Amanda: Same thoughts as Lizzy above

Amy: My initial thoughts were she was really nice but by the end of the episode it was quite clear she was going to play a selfish mother-in-law.

4) Chase bartending jokes–still funny or getting old?

LizzyB: I still think they’re funny. But, then again, I have been known to beat a dead horse :\

Amanda: I like them.

Amy: Jokes themselves are pretty funny.  Just wish he’d find something else to do around Tree Hill.  I think Stephen is sorely underutilized.

5) Did you see that coming with the singer being Erin from the crisis hotline?

LizzyB: I absolutely did not. Good twist!

Amanda: As a matter a fact I did. Pretty cool.

Amy: As soon as I heard that she sang well and Haley perked up, I figured it out.  I liked it though.

Bonus Question: Give the episode an overall rating from 1 to 10.

LizzyB: There wasn’t much plot development but I’ve always enjoyed OTH episodes like this that take a break from all the drama and focus more on fun. I give it a 7.

Amanda: I really enjoyed the episode. I give it an 8.

Amy: 7.

    Favorite quote:
I have to go with Julian too. “You want me to go as Flava Flav?” I believe that every quote I have liked this year has been a Julian quote :)

    Best Costume:
Well…I liked Haley’s. I liked how she visited herself in high school :)

    Initial Thoughts of Julian’s mom:
Not a fan. I had a feeling it would bring drama.

Chase’s bartending jokes – still funny or getting old:
Honestly I never really consider his jokes funny at all. I do remember one good quote he had. It was when Julian was talking about Nick from 98 degrees. He said something about him being on the Hills, and Chase said, “not that’s some other tool” that one I actually laughed out loud when I heard it. It was just too funny.

Erin as the singer and the hotline:
    Didn’t see it…thought it was great :)

    Bonus: rating the episode:
    I enjoyed it I’d say a 7 1/2

    1) Favorite quote of the episode?
Nathan of course! At the end, talking to Haley about the moment. SO GOOD! But comedic lines damn ,there were a lot, Haley and Quinn arguing over zombies, of course Julian with the flava flave and “Now you know why” comment and how he stormed into the bathroom.

    2) Best costume?

Julian or Clay. I’m a toss up. Julian was just so absurdly funny and Clay.. well goddaym, he really looked like Edward. Bonus: most boring, nathan. sorry, he looks very handsome in a suit but come on mix it up!

    3) Initial thoughts on Julian’s mom?
Wouldn’t call her bitchoria 2.0, I think Victoria still reigns supreme and it would be interesting to see these two women meet but I think she’s def. going to be the controlling drunk mother in law.

    4) Chase bartending jokes–still funny or getting old?
I’m surprised Chase is even still around to be honest. Why do we get more of him and not of Junk and Fergie?

    5) Did you see that coming with the singer being Erin from the crisis hotline?
I read spoilers so I knew

Bonus Question: Give the episode an overall rating from 1 to 10.
    7. Would’ve given more but the lack of naley and a lot of the other characters during the party at tric weighed it down. Most of the cast were there and the party should’ve been the majority of the episode.
