Wow, we are at the end of Season 8. Seems like we were just fighting for it and now it is over.
This episode I think seemed a little choppy and a little forced and a little slow all at the same time. But, it was nice to see so many things wrap up. I’m very interested to see where the last 13 episodes are going to go. With the baby boom in Tree Hill, I would love to see another time jump with Jamie’s generation and yes, I still miss Lucas and hope they get him back.
- I loved Brooke and Julian having twins. I loved how they measured her belly. I hate though that her accident was just glossed over. I didn’t get to feel the full impact of that.
- I loved Karen’s Cafe being opened. I think I said it last week but I really wish they’d have done it earlier and more scenes could have been there.
- I love seeing Naley and family. That shot of the four of them sitting on the bed was priceless.
- I enjoyed seeing Clay and Nathan look for the next “Nathan”. Would have liked to see Nathan mentor someone like that.
- So good to see Dan. More Dan, please!
- I loved the idea of Mouth and Millie morning show. Glad she didn’t take the Charlotte job and I’d really like to see more of the show.
- I’m happy that Chase and Alex got back together. Also good to see a great relationship between Chase and Mia.
- The final scene with Jamie brought tears to my eyes. Such a full-circle moment. I wish that would have been the series finale just so that could be the final scene. So much hope for Tree Hill and the generations to come.
So we shall see what Season 9 brings. What’d you think of the finale and what do you hope for in Season 9?

I’d agree Amy that the show had flaws but yet was satisfying in a way. I think the whole problem is that Mark and the writers have been hamstrung by not knowing the status of the show from the beginning of this season. They could hardly develop a gripping, interesting dramatic storyline at the same time that they were trying to give the loyal, devoted fans the closure that they want. They knew they had to get the wedding in, but the status of the second 13 episodes, and next season, was always in doubt.
The first few seasons, it was worth the gamble, I guess, to have cliff hangers that may not get resolved, but now it would seem cruel to leave fans dangling without the possibility of having enough episodes to develop a story fully. So, this episode wrapped everything up, tried to give the fans a little of everything (of course, no one’s ever completely happy as fans of an ensemble cast show, I guess) but as a result everything was rushed, and yes, choppy. THe NH and Brulian scenes were all good, I thought, but extremely short. The Dan scene could’ve gone on much longer, I thought. I liked it but I wanted more of what I DID like and less of what I didn’t care about.
Alright so I am going to throw in my comments as well. I wanted Amy to finish out the season with the reactions
I think my feelings follow her for the most.
I loved the twins. I followed along fine with time jumps and her measuring her belly for the most part. I Loved how they measured her belly and thought that was a great idea. I also hated how they glazed over the birth. Her falling and such. It was rushed.
Loved the Naley scenes. On the bed had me smiling. What a precious moment. Nathan with Lydia in several scenes. So cute!
Haley opening the cafe. I loved, loved her at the end smiling, closing up the cafe with Jamie coming in with the basketball.
I liked the Mouth and Millie show too. They are adorable together.
I am happy Chase and Alex are back together. I have always enjoyed them. I too enjoyed the way Mia and Chase went with their relationship.
I agree with Amy on Clay and Nathan finding the new Nathan.
Dan…Loved seeing Dan!!
The end. Yes I was in tears too. What a moment that brought back memories and showed the future.
I don’t know what the next 13 episodes will bring. I like Amy would love to see Lucas come back. More Cafe. More Nathan mentoring and so on… I guess we shall see
I also agree with Amy. This episode did seem a little rushed and jam packed. Imagine if all of these story lines were stretched out throughout season 8, that would’ve made for a little bit of a better season. But, I loved it nonetheless. All the Naley scenes were to die for (except they never kiss! EVER!) and to see Brooke with her boy…and her other boys was a sight to see! B.Davis has come a long way.
Her little fall in the cafe was so watered-down I thought Mark Schwahn may have gotten a little lazy with that part of the story line. And the closing scene with Jamie on the bridge with his “Scott Motor’s” jacket and he narrating it was priceless. I cried the entire scene! We got to see Dan again as the broken man he became since he shot Keith. Nathan going there and allowing Dan to be in their lives only by giving him a piece of them was heartbreaking yet satisfying. Although, I’m not gonna lie, I miss evil Dan. But if “not-so-evil” Dan came back next season, it would really make S9 great. Clay/Quinn were a little boring, but to see where their love has gone for 2 seasons was good. Chase/Alex and Mia… it’s always been a blahh to me. I hope they find a better way for Stephen to get screen time!
Anywho, getting another season in the bag is just awesome! I hope the next and final 13 episodes of this GREAT show will have heart and soul (and Lucas). Lots of storylines to be captured next season!
i felt brooke’s SL was too much going on and too quick. first shes pregnant then its twins then she falls then the babies are here and they are okay. i mean, we couldve just done with pregnant and an early delivery, the twins and the falling was a bit much.
i felt it was underwhelming, just too choppy. while the very last scene of jamie was very nice, all the scenes before hand took me away from the moment. im so glad that wasnt the finale, mark ahs one more chance to make it right lol. i need something better than that, better than season 6 finale and more importantly, better than season 4 finale.
I loved this episode. Great Naley and Brulian scenes. Even Clay and Quinn were nice. For once they weren’t all physical. I like how Quinn told Clay about her parents reading together in the morning and that’s when you’re in love. Nathan was so cute with Lydia and Haley singing again was nice. Brooke and Julian with their boys was cute. Julian’s scene in the hospital with his sons was an awesome scene by Austin. The scene with Jamie at the rivercourt was great as him and his friends are tha next generation on the rivercourt. Jamie’s storyline reminded me of the pilot episode. First of all, him and his friends were like Lucas, Skillz, Mouth, Junk and Fergie. Madison could be his “Peyton”. His talks with Quinn was like Lucas and Keith. I know some people think that Jamie and his friends are a waste of screentime. However, I believe that it was done to show how the original story can carry on. I LOVED seeing Dan, wish there was more of him, however the scene with him and Nathan was powerful enough. When Dan called him son and said thank you was just to show how much Dan has changed. I hope that Paul is a series regular in season nine. OTH needs him. The ending with Jamie dribbling the basketball across the bridge was great as was the final voiceover with everyone. Great job, Mark! Bring on an awesome season nine for a final season!
It could have been more with this episode…
I love the idea of reopening Karen’s Cafe, it’s nice for Brooke and Haley to let the kids hang out there, just like they did. I just hope in season 9 that Haley will still do her music. I loved Nathan and Lydia scenes together, they were cute.
I wished that everyone could have been there for Brulian when Brooke gave birth, that didn’t make sense, no parents, no friends. And how many times does Julian has to let us know that Brooke is Brooke Davis. I didn’t like the names neither the whole Jude and Davis, seriously…the last name thing now is annoying and too overrated. Their names should have been Jude and David. Who are the godparents? I hope Mouth is one of them.
I’m so happy that Mouth got a job, it’s been too long. But I’m tired of them separating Mouth and Millie, can they at least stay together and finally get married. I mean move their relationship to the next level.
I was glad to see Skill but no Junk or Fergie. Unles they were there and I’d missed them. I like seeing Dan too. But seriously if Nathan is gonna see the man can he at least try not to look so mad??? I know about Keith and what Dan did over the years but still, you’re all grown up. I’m not asking him to forgive Dan neither.
I didn’t care too much for Cliin, they were the same as always, Clay would be better if he dated Alex not Quinn.
Jamie’s storyline was boring to me, he didn’t need a girlfriend.
I really wasn’t interested in Chase and Alex but I like seeing him and Mia together again.
Like I said before season 9 should focus on Brulian being parents, Victoria with her grandchildren.
Haley and Brooke with the Cafe and Haley doing music, she gets Deb to help her out with the children and Chris Keller comes back to help out with the studio.
Nathan can go back to the NBA, since James might gonna be up here part time.
I don’t care much for Chase and Alex/Clay and Quinn, as long as they have some drama with them.
I hope Mouth and Millie will be getting married and Skills will stay in Tree Hill.
Still bring back old characters, lets see how they been over the years to put some closure in the final season.
ienjoyed the episode i thought it was great..lovedd all the naley scenes
& the brulian scenes, ijust wish the network had stated the shows renewal earlier so we could’ve gotten a slight cliff hanger, but everything was still beautiful & perfect..i just died everytime lydia was in a scene, the “lydia” in the cafe scene was soooo perfect! …i do wish i would’ve saw the scene that sophia mentioned between haley & brooke, after she fell in the cafe. it would’ve added a little more drama for me, but hopefully that’ll be on the dvds
still amazing episodee!
I really enjoyed the episode. I agree, Brooke’s accident was a little rushed. In season 9, I think it would be great if they did flash backs about what happened.
Didn’t they say that season 8 was gonna have 13 episodes or something? But then we got a full season.
Yep it’s really a baby boom.. i wonder how thats gonna develop in season 9? i don’t really want another time jump. i mean the show is still about sophia, joy, james and clay, ..etc. So next season the kids gonna take over??? But Since so many kids are on board now… maybe Lucas and Peytons kid gonna join too, i could imagine that we get another time jump but not sure if Mark will allow that Jackson will be replaced by an older actor. (also since its the last season)
I hope Lucas comes back.. i already see him walking into Karen’s cafe and Hailey greeting him. That would be totally awesome to see. I think if Lucas comes back that gonna change things up and make things more exciting. And when Nathan leaves, i hope he comes back for the final episode and of course still be with Hailey.
For me the last episode was really really good. Since i only watched the 22. episode of season 8 i cant judge this season but i still felt like i didn’t miss that lot. Did i miss a lot?? i think this episode would have been a good way to end this series but thats just me. If lucas comes back, i totally take it back.
My mom got mad when she saw alex on mouth and millie’s show, she was gettin’ tired of her.
Do we know for sure James is not coming back?
Or,maybe Nathan gets an offer to coach a basketball team in the European league and it’s too good an offer so he leaves Fortitude and takes the job but will come back home a couple of times during the season. I just really don’t want anything bad to happen in terms of writing him out.
starnews featured an article about OTH being picked up for season 9. Bill Vassaar, Executive Vice President of Screen Gem Studios stated, “all of the major actors have signed on for season 9.”
First of all JAMES + BABY= ABSOLUTLEY ADORABLE AND HOT HAHA….I loved all the naley family moments. Nate pushing lydia around the pool and letting jamie go to the river court by himself was happy and sad at the same time. Jamie is growing up and nates face said it all.
Happy for Brulian and getting the twins.
Skills in a chicken suit=priceless
Sorry for the chase/chuck/alex storyline i could careless
Mouth/Millie show was cute
Opening the karens cafe I agree should’ve been doing earlier but kool idea and the last scene w/jamie perfect.
Overall the finale was ok it could’ve been better.
I’m scratching my head trying to figure out what mark is going to do for S9 hmmm
If the writers coughs Mark S continues to make the core characters center storylines and the secondary chracters(supporting characters)remain at the background like yesterday then s9 will be an epic sereis finale…..I am a naley fan and we’ve been screwed over and over and over again we just have to suck it up and turn a blind eye.Love joy, like james love them together and love OTH miss the old TH but they can always improve not change…Loved the naley scenes, happy brook finally got the life she always wanted and Dan always dark and sad yet profound.Again I am happy that chase and alex found each other and be with each other but really giving chase and chuck a huge chunk of time in the series no just no…I just hope that next season won’t disapiont I have high hopes for naley bring back the swoon worthy epic couple and not the we are together but lookin like strangers couple.Brulian fam would be intresting to see.Clay working and hanging with nate maybe lessen it and quinn we know you have a rocking body but I am so over her being nude and showing too much skin.More Naley this new season and bring back the drama and love that is tree hill!
Well in my opinion, nothing happened!!! This episode was basically too fastforwarded and there was no “action” at all, I thought it was damn boring!
First, I’m super excited for Brulian who deserve their happy ending!! But really we didn’t get to actually proceed Brooke’s pregnancy (though the Brulian scenes were super cute), I wish we could have had more of that! And, being a mom of an 18-month daughter and pregnant with daughter nr 2 at the moment, this scene where Brooke tries to get flour from the top shelf on high heels (yeah of course high heels when you’re pregnant… blah!) being pregnant with twins is so darn unrealistic!!! who in real life would do something like this when you know perfectly well that anything you can do could jeopardize the baby’s health!! so, really, Mr Schwahn!!! do you yourself have kids or have you ever asked a pregnant woman how it feels???
Then, the rest of the episode was totally dull for me. Naley scenes were not so cute, I think they’ve lost most of their spark since end of season 6 (it’s only my opinion). Too bad we didn’t really get to hear Haley speak at all, and I was kinda surprised that we didn’t get to see Mouth and Millie interviewing Haley and Brooke re Karen’s Café reopening.. It was Haley’s idea in the beginning, right? But OK we hear her sing…
Can someone please kill off Alex??? I really can’t stand the Alex character. Nice to see Mia for like 2 minutes. The whole Chase and Chuck thing did never really get to me, it’s fill-in airtime IMO. Same goes for all of Clay/Quinn scenes except in the first couples of episodes of season 8. Then they became transparent.
About time for Mouth to finally get a job back! nice to see him with “old-self” Millie again and I hope they could ride into the sunset! More Skills please, and NOT in a chicken suit!!
The moment that brought me tears was actually hearing the original Tree Hill song in the beginning!! I don’t know why, nostalgia? The last scene with Jamie was cute… though he is quite irritating most of the time, I thought he was supercute in this last season episode…
Please mark the most hot scenes between naley, let’s get the show on a high, not to disappoint the fans to pleaseeeeeee
I mean *Clinn*
loved seeing skills and dan. i can understand why brooke’s pregnancy was rushed, in case the season finale was the series finale, but it was weird to have her pregnant for one episode. her accident was a bit quick, but i don’t care, it’s become another OTH cliche that every pregnancy has to have some big accident where someone’s life is on the line. i actually didn’t like jamie narrating. it doesn’t make sense to have those words and those thoughts coming out of a ten year old’s mouth. they’re just recycling old storylines and habits on OTH lately, it seems like something they thought would be cute…it was just trite and predictable to me. quit pushing jamie so much, and i wouldn’t find him annoying (same with chuck).
