StarNews: Jeff Hephner: “One Tree Hill” is why “Hellcats” won’t be coming back
Posted by Amanda with 3 Comments
Did “One Tree Hill” kill “Hellcats?” Maybe not exactly. Low ratings and little buzz certainly played a part.
But “Hellcats” co-star Jeff Hephner told me that the CW’s decision to bring “OTH” back for a ninth and final season effectively put the final nail in the “Hellcats” coffin. “That’s the reason ‘Hellcats’ isn’t coming back,” Hephner said Friday.
But the actor isn’t holding a grudge. He was in town to promote his new Starz drama, “Boss,” premiering this October.

I thought Hellcats was ok, but I kinda stopped watching after the first few episodes. I think that The CW kept OTH for another season because the 8th didn’t feel like an final season, it didn’t it me. Just my opinion.
Hellcats had abysinal ratings.
I think the show was starting to get a little more interesting. I would have like to seen where the father stuff was going to go with Savannah. As for ratings OTH ratings were not great either. I think it even beat OTH in the season average or it was close. I know it was a new show and so maybe that meant maybe it should have had better numbers but then I think it was a new show.
