This was crazy!!!! Dramatic for sure. I can not wait for next episode!

It was INSANE. Brooke wanted to reconnect with her father and that didn’t go well; Quinn caught Clay abusing prescription medication; Haley helped Dan because he was the chef at the diner for the day and a few customers didn’t like that a murderer was cooking their food; JULIAN left one of the twins in his car and forgot about him only to see police and an ambulance at his car because it appears someone had either kidnapped the child or had broken in to rescue him (Julian was meeting a director that wanted to rent out his sound stage and in the business of that he had forgotten about the baby).

To be Honest I had a hard time staying interested most of this episode. Until the very end! I swear I have never watched a show in my life that can leave u with your jaw dropped like one tree hill…it sneaks up on u, one sec there is nothing too interesting, the next sec, its like you can’t breathe!! The entire episode I give a 4, but as usual the last 5 secs I give a 15!!! Nicely done writers!!

  8. Comment by Greg in January 25, 2012 @ 9:42 pm

Loved the Haley Dan Cafe stuff. Brooke’s neediness is over played. They have completely ruined Julian. Chris Keller, and I hated him in season 2, is awesome and steals scenes. Bleh Mouth and Millie. Clay was easy to see from the beginning but there will be a twist, thinking he has some brain trauma. All and all, we are starting to get in gear on the storylines, I can’t tell if I will like Julien/Brooke’s but it started all wrong for me.

Awful. This was my first time seeing a season 9 episode. I havent watched consistantly since season 6, but I thought i’d give one episode of this season a chance. And all that did was confirm that I’ve been doing the right thing by not watching over the last couple of seasons. NOTHING HAPPENED. Well, nothing important anyway. A new cafe is opening in tree hill… big deal. Alex is on tour… big deal. Clay apparently has a drug addiction… big deal. Julian has an empty sound stage… big deal. Dan is STILL dealing with struggles and the aftermath of murdering Keith… not repetitive at all! Chris Keller is a creepy perv… gross. Chuck admires Chris Keller… wow. Mouth is fat… COOL! Not. The only somewhat intriguing (and i say that loosely) scene was what happened with Julian and the baby at the end. But even so, that wasn’t until the very end of the episode. They wasted like 59 minutes of air time showing us absolutely nothing, and save the real “drama” (again, say that loosely!) for the final 30 seconds of the show? I remember back when the whole episodes used to be filled with good stuff, not just the very end. *sigh* I really just can’t believe that this is how they are putting the final 13 episodes of the series to use.

First, nothing better not happen to brulians baby, secong i agree w/mouth millie so stupid and pointless. Loving chris keller, dan/haley are great even jamie (those customers should’ve paid). Anyone else miss nathan? its not the same. Brooke your dad has been like this your whole life shouldn’t be a shock. Actually gonna miss victoria, chuck is funny. i know its a show but when did miss lauren get pregnant hahaha(doesn’t jamie get a new teacher ever). Where’s Skills? The ONLY thing I really want to know is who is under the sheet at the morgue.

  11. Comment by Amanda in January 25, 2012 @ 9:51 pm

I am on pins and needles waiting to see what happened to Davis. All along I was waiting for Julia to get mugged or something, but I did NOT expect that ending.
I can’t help but love Chris Keller and I am so glad he is back!!! I didn’t like him much the last time around, but he’s growing on me and I find his humor more funny this time.
Mouth and Millie are just not doing it for me this season so far. As much as I like Mouth, I would be okay if that story line ended quickly and we had more time with other characters.
Counting down till episode 7 when I hear Chad will be back!

  12. Comment by elizabeth971 in January 25, 2012 @ 10:17 pm

Okay I am very confused as to why they NEVER show Lydia! WHat does Haley do with her when shes working?!? Oh and can someone exlpain the ending with Juliana the baby caused i missed some of it.

  13. Comment by s in January 25, 2012 @ 10:24 pm

can someone explain what happened at the end with davis??? i don’t really understand..

  14. Comment by Hayley in January 25, 2012 @ 10:34 pm

Chris Keller is AMAZING!!!! I love all of his scenes. Brooke, who I still love, is getting a little boring for me. Which is so hard for me to say. I want to see Brooke and Chris, does she even know Chris is in town? Haley/Dan scenes PERFECT. Haley/Chris scenes PERFECT. Jamie was cute, I loved him working and all…. good episode for him. Mouth and Millie were ehhh, but Millie’s outburst did make me laugh. I love how Quinn took Chris’ advice. Julian really F’d up! Finally some drama is happening!!! I missed it!

    P.S. I miss Nathan already!
P.P.S. Where’s Lydia? and why has she not been mentioned?

  15. Comment by Jesi in January 25, 2012 @ 10:44 pm

WTH! I seriously hope that nothing happens to that baby! And I soooooo do not like Haley trusting Dan! That guy always has something up his sleeve!

  16. Comment by leah in January 25, 2012 @ 11:40 pm

Did Davis die it sure looks like it?

  17. Comment by hotandtwisted in January 25, 2012 @ 11:47 pm

It will be interesting to see what the aftermath of the accident is.Hopefully Bruliana’s baby is okay.I have a feeling Chase or Chris were involved in the accident (one of them driving drunk).

  18. Comment by Addison in January 26, 2012 @ 12:14 am

^ There was no accident. Julian forgot that the baby was in the car and, after I assume a passerby noticed and notified the authorities, those emergency personnel had to break into the car to get the baby out. That’s why the car window was shattered.

Is Amy no longer involved with this blog?

  20. Comment by KL in January 26, 2012 @ 12:39 am

For a final season, I understand and enjoy everyone’s storyline except for Julian and Brooke. While OTH has always hard dark parts, I don’t understand why Brooke has to endure so much suffering when it comes to love and children. They FINALLY got over being unable to have children and now one of them may have died from a “mistake?!” I can’t understand why her life has to be so dark when Brooke is obviously much stronger and relatable as a lighter person. In real life, yes, horrible things like that do happen, but I don’t think it’s a necessary piece to the OTH story. With credit to the writers, however, there was good foreshadowing with the emphasis on the TWO Baker boys over the past two episodes.

  21. Comment by ginny in January 26, 2012 @ 12:49 am

Loo hotandtwisted and Addison definitely make since on the Julian/baby thing…I didn’t think about that…Julian left baby in car and chase drove drunk..that’s why in the premiere he was in the police car.

  22. Comment by Ed Fury in January 26, 2012 @ 12:50 am

It’s a shame they have to use a baby for us to get emotional and to have some drama. I remember when Mark used characters from the show to do that. How many scenes have Brooke’s children been in 3 or so and I can’t even tell them apart anyway so it’s not like I am attached to her children as being major characters on the show that I just can’t deal with the loss of one of them. Boo hoo they killed a baby. 54 million babies have been killed in real life since they legalized abortion. Yes it was sad. They probably shouldn’t have used a baby to play on our emotions. I am borderline calling unfair on this.

Quinn / Shantel is so hot. That smile of hers melts my heart too. I can’t even pay attention to her scenes cause I am stunned by her beauty.

So it Victoria gone for good now? She is off the show too? That sucks. If they keep writing these people off with such weak ending to their stories I am gonna be royally pissed.

I don’t even see what Mouth and Millie have to do with the show anymore. How are they even connected to anyone? Millie doesn’t work with or hangout with Brooke anymore. Lucas moved away years ago and we NEVER see Skills so who does Mouth run with? lmao, my bad. Mouth is too fat to run so he stays home.

I don’t even know what else to say. I’ll rewatch it again in case I missed something.

Episode 9.03 seemed better then 9.01 or 9.02 though.

Oh.. it is not Karen’s Cafe. It is Haley’s and Brook’s Cafe. It only uses the name Karen.. if they want him to work there it has nothing to do with Karen. She moved to austria or australian or africa some country with an a with her man Andy. Now if they had said that Karen didn’t want Dan inside Tric which I guess Karen still owns that would make more sense.

  23. Comment by May in January 26, 2012 @ 1:48 am

Season nine is being a little meh. I expected better. About this episode, I’m torn. I loved Haley’s storyline. It’s pretty great that she stood up for Dan. Clay, Quinn, Alex, Chase, Mouth and Millie were useless, like most times. On Brooke’s side of things, it’s getting a little annoying. She couldn’t care less about her dad before, and now she suddenly wants to have an amazing relationship with him? Weird. The little unbelievable things were: how Millie dealt with Mouth gaining weight. Too much for too little. Clay buying drugs at broad day light, in a small town (small enough so that police sees a baby who was alone in the car for thirty minutes, tops), in a place where Quinn can even take pictures? Lame.

  24. Comment by Philipp in January 26, 2012 @ 5:18 am

Well I loved the episode. It had the right amount of comedy and drama to balance each other out. The twist at the end with Julian leaving Davis in the car is a new approach at a storyline we’ve never seen before. And I don’t think that they will let the baby die, that would be too dark, he could never come back from that. I’m guessing the soundstage deal will fall through, more turmoil that will pile up on the guilt that will be eating away at him.

I gotta it’s been great having Chris Keller around but I’ve always been a fan of Tyler Hilton, so no surprise there.
I am getting uber annoyed by Chuck though, don’t like that kid…

And how could they not address Lauren’s pregnancy at all, being that her baby daddy is…

[SPOILER ALERT, avert your eyes if you wish to be surprised]

…Quinn’s ex David! What is he just gonna come into town all of a sudden and Lauren will be like oh yeah btw Quinnie, your ex-husband got me pregnant? This is shaping up to be weird…

  25. Comment by Annie in January 26, 2012 @ 7:18 am

    - Chris Keller is great. Thank God for Chris Keller
    – What the heck kind of golfing outfit was Brooke wearing? I’ve golfed and never seen women wearing anything like that.
    – Sad Victoria left. I am not as invested and Brooke and her Dad as I was in Brooke and her Mom. I would have rather her Dad left and Victoria stayed.
    – Mouth got fat and Millie got mad. Whatever. If this storyline was reversed and Millie got fat and Mouth got mad at her for it, people would be sooooooo mad. But at least people would care.
    – Julian left his baby in the car. I’m sure the baby’s okay….but I’m guessing this will cause drama between the two
    – Clay is on drugs? But he doesn’t remember? Quinn doesn’t own pajamas and must sleep in her lingerie? Since Alex is gone the writers need one of the girls half naked all the time. Although I will say SVS’s acting is way better this season. At least I think so.
    – Where IS Lydia? Jamie, Dan and Haley are all at the cafe. Does she go to daycare? Is she in another car somewhere? I’m still not sure if I like Haley better running the cafe or running Red Bedroom. I like the throwback to the older seasons of her in Karen’s….but her in Red Bedroom seemed like a fit for her older character.
    – I liked that Haley stood up for Dan. I am anxious for the Nathan storyline to start. I’m anxious for all the storylines to start.

  26. Comment by Amanda in January 26, 2012 @ 8:54 am

ok so here we go —

1- Brooke needing her dad’s approval or attention is kind of a step back in character development in my opinion. So he is a bad father. So is mine, get over it chickie. Sad if that is how we say good bye to vickie. She has always had more layers with Brooke than pretty much anyone else on te show ever. I really like these two together. Come back.
2 – Haley/Chris and Haley/Dan scenes are phenom I could care less about Nathan. Their relationship has been stagnant for some time now, so I dont mind seeing BJG spark again. She is such an amazing actress. :) Those bitches in the cafe were mean and I am soooo glad Haley stood up to them. But always she let Dan know Karen’s Cafe wasnt a place for him.
3 – Chris/Chase/Chuck – fabulous. that pretty much sums it up.
4 – Quinn/Clay – while I havent been a big supporter of theirs in the past, I now realize it was their storyline. Cause tonight they really blew me away. Quinn was so believable. I am excited about next weeks withthese two. It looks intense.
5 – JULIAN!!!! Goonies, moonwalks, and child neglect. Come on man! Get it together. I really hope the baby is ok. That last shot was amazing Paul ( as director) and Austin (as actor) did amazing with that scene. So real. ust knowing what all Brooke and Julian had to go through to get the babies, and it could be taken away just like that. It bothers me a bit. Cant wait for Brookes reaction.
Mouth/Millie – I am over this storyline already. Lets move it along already. Let them interact wit the others.
Overall better than last week. It was better the second time I watched it, able to fast forward comercials so it moves quiker. So I give it a 7! Dan/Haley and Julian saved it for me this week. :)

  27. Comment by Amanda in January 26, 2012 @ 8:58 am

By the way guys, that is not saying that I dont want Nate back. He is amazing. I am just saying I dont feel his absence as much as some of you might. Plus I cant wait to see what he is getting himself into I am sure his story will be good. I was simply saying that for this ep, I didnt mind him being gone! :)

  28. Comment by weenie in January 26, 2012 @ 9:09 am

In one episode they managed to diss “overweight” people not once but twice(Mouth story line and Chris Kellar) ,which just adds to the total hypocrisy of this show. Normally I wouldn’t be as bothered, but this is coming from a show that took such pride in the whole “zero is not a size” slogan and also has many cast members who support “Team True Beauty” and then resorting to this!!

    Chase/Chris/Alex-see Naley/Chris seasons 2 and 3

Brooke has moved on from mommy issues to daddy issues, same old, same old. Julian……the baby must’ve been in the car a long time because he was in the studio giving the tour to the kids and then at the liquor store….dumb!!

Haley and Dan are the only real story line that has some substance and makes me want to tune and see how is unfolds. While Haley and Chris have great chemistry and good scenes, I think it will quickly become played out with Chris being such an a-hole all the time. I too miss Nathan already!!

Ms. Lauren is pregnant and still Jamies teacher. Also some of those kids looked like kindergardeners next to Chuck! The actor who plays Chuck must be related to Mark is all I have to say.

  29. Comment by Alisa in January 26, 2012 @ 9:26 am

Best episode so far this season, because there was at least SOME action.

I am so bored with the Brooke and her dad storyline already. Could he please leave tree hill like he did before? We already had to watch Brooke struggle for her mom’s approval, and now we have to do it again with her father? Brooke is a strong adult woman, who is married and has kids of her own. I think she should accept this and move on.

I’m interested to see what happens with the Brooke/Julian/baby thing. I want to see how both of them react, and if the baby is okay.

Chase and Chuck — blah. who cares? Still not liking that there was no proper goodbye from Alex.

I’m loving Chris Keller. It’s so good to have him back on the show. I loved him cooking at the cafe. I was laughing so hard from him screaming.

Same with Dan. I loved the scenes with Haley and Dan at the cafe. I liked that she was sticking up for him.

I miss Nathan and Lydia, like the others said.

Mouth and Millie — getting old. We need to see them interact with the other main characters. I’m thinking his health is going to be an issue this season.

I wish Quinn would put some clothes on. The Quinn/Clay storyline is finally getting juicy, though. I think there’s more than just the drug abuse… And how does Dan get involved??? (seeing previews for next week)

All in all, it’s getting better, but I’m ready for the stories to heat up, it’s been a slow start to season 9…

  30. Comment by giokn90 in January 26, 2012 @ 9:44 am

A show is made from different characters, if Brooke is for ”zero is not a size”, Chris Keller, as a womanizer, can easily refuse a fat woman, period.
And i would be upset like Millie if my girlfriend would take 60 pounds without know it.
Angry is a normal first reaction, but i think she’s gonna change her approach.

  31. Comment by onehotscott23 in January 26, 2012 @ 9:44 am

umm, how long until Nathan comes back? I do miss him BADLY! It was just weird watching the show and not seeing Nathan. The good parts of this episode:
    – Chris Keller screaming about the fire, hilarious.
    – Chris/Haley at the cafe.
    – Haley/Dan/Jamie at the cafe.
    – Not sure exactly what is going on with Clay, but I am actually interested in this story. (first time i’ve been interested about anything w/ Clay/Quinn)
    – I like that Mouth & Millie are back together but I think the writers can do better than the “mouth getting fat” storyline. Mouth & Skills usually have some pretty good comedic scenes. I miss them two hanging out.
    – The only thing I liked about Julian was the scene at the end where he realized he left the baby in the car.
Besides Nathan being gone, not a bad episode. I think the show will get a little better each week as the drama builds.

  32. Comment by giokn90 in January 26, 2012 @ 9:48 am

And please, girls, stop complaining about half-naked Quinn, i don’t think you complain when you see half-naked Nathan.

  33. Comment by MariaM in January 26, 2012 @ 10:07 am

How does a baby (possibly) getting written off this way have anything to do with abortions? Seriously, it makes the show tug at heart strings and that’s what they are going for. Wish we had another season after this!! GREAT SHOW

  34. Comment by onehotscott23 in January 26, 2012 @ 10:09 am

I have to agree with giokn90. Although I don’t enjoy seeing Quinn or Alex half naked, I do love seeing Nathan shirtless as much as possible. :)

  35. Comment by Tayrin in January 26, 2012 @ 10:27 am

Well I enjoyed the episode. Chris Keller is a Hot Mess! Dan needs to stay out of Karen’s Cafe as it looks like his presence will bring much drama. Nathan needs to come back. Clay is out of Control! Quinn – I love her heart for her Man. Millie and Mouth scenes are a little overboard but I do get the point they are trying to get at. Millie did apologize to Mouth as to how she came about finally telling him he’s overweight but it was mostly coming from her heart because she genuinely is scared for his health. She loves him no matter what obviously cause shes with him but shes scared it can lead to worse which is seems to be what the story is getting to. Just being healthy period – The cast who are supporters of Team True Beauty are trying to show that. I am not a skinny chic what so ever but for me not eating healthy would be an excuse for myself to just be fat. Which is what mouth was doing – he was blaming everyone but himself and his own actions. Me eating healthy and have curves well then at least I am healthy with curves. Julian left me cracking up at his alone scenes of goonies, his dance moves and then my heart dropped when I realized what he had done. All in all the beginning scenes from Episode 1 will all start coming together.

  36. Comment by Rebecca in January 26, 2012 @ 12:36 pm

Brooke’s lame parent storyline is SO OVERDONE and, reading the previous reviews, everyone is already over it. Let us see Brooke as a MOM, not a desperate daughter. We waited 8 years for Brooke to get her babies and now she’s hardly with them.

I love the Haley/Dan interactions and I feel there’s more to Dan’s motives then he’s letting on.

Hello?! Did anyone else notice Ms. Lauren is preggo? I know she had a baby in real life so she was actually pregnant, but if they are trying to hide it for the character they did a crap job of that. Who’s the father Lauren??

Chris Keller is great but I feel he’s taking up TOO much screen time. Let’s not make it One Tree Keller. I do love his interactions with Haley and him meeting Quinn was hilarious.

I’m actually loving Quinn/Clay for the first time because they’re storyline has some believable drama (not psycho stalkers with guns) and isn’t all “Oh my God, you’re perfect, we’re perfect, life is great.” I’m curious to see where they go with this SL.

Overall I found the episode boring except for the last 5 minutes. I hope the drama picks up because this is our LAST chance in Tree Hill and we can’t waste any of the episodes on filler crap.

By the way, it’s clear that Clay doesn’t have a drug problem, but a psicological disorder.
He does things, and he doesn’t remember the moment after, that’s a huge problem.

  40. Comment by SMB in January 26, 2012 @ 2:44 pm

    here are my two cents:

JULIAN..OMG! that was such a horrible thing u did. BROOKE is gonna go ape sh#% when she finds out.

And speaking of BROOKE, i didn’t see why she was soooo disappointed about her father, she asked for his help and he did! and instead of sitting sketching at home go help ur partner at the diner!

HALEY/DAN are my saving grace for this season! with nathan being gone #blameclay
    i’m enjoying watching them together.

MOUTH/MILLIE.. Where do u get off Millie?! i don’t like the writing of her character since season 7. liked the old millie way better.

  41. Comment by Rotem in January 26, 2012 @ 3:51 pm

I think the chapter was just amazing, I got nervous at the end at all what with Brock’s baby I’m scared of Kelly, and I’m also proud to Haley despite everything that happened with Dan, after coming out of it is standing up for him that is part of her family no matter what – it amazes me every time.
Brock’s father and some annoying me, her mother too well> <
I know my English is not very good sorry (:

  42. Comment by ed fury in January 26, 2012 @ 5:48 pm

@33 It has absolutely nothing to do with abortions.

It has absolutely everything to do with the writers trying everything they can to make Julian the most beta male on the planet. They’ve spent two years ripping all the manhood from him they can and emasculating his character to the point that it seems he’s the female of the relationship. All this to make Brooke seem like the strong one yet she still seeks, no she craves, attention from her daddy.

Please. We all know high school Brooke would never have dated a “man” like Julian. This whole Brooke / Julian pairing has turned me off to the show more then anything else.

Now we get to watch the town of Tree Hill abuse Julian even more. He gets beat up next. I mean why does he even stick around? No one likes him except Brooke. Maybe when he goes to jail the writers can have him get raped too.

So let me guess. When Jack’s brother gets out of jail after being in a couple of years for killing Q and attacking Brooke and he comes after Brooke then Julian finally discovers some masculinity and he rescues Brooke and that is his character’s redemption? Weak.

  43. Comment by Kayla in January 26, 2012 @ 8:37 pm

Ed Fury – I think you’ve got it wrong. 54 million fetuses have been terminated since they legalized abortion. And since when do people say boo hoo to the accidental death of a living baby? Something’s wrong about that.

  44. Comment by Mandi in January 27, 2012 @ 1:17 am

Ed Fury – I agree with you about the wrecking of Julian’s character… I loved him when he first arrived and started out with Brooke, but he is just a complete joke.

The story itself is all too real… in my small town, we’ve had three incidents in the past couple of years where a child died after being left in a car. Unfortunately it is realistic and a tragic accident, but a couple of things I couldn’t help think about… the police and public perception of Julian – dropping the liquor bottle, and all of the comments he made in the season premier about getting rid of the babies.

I’m tired of Mouth and Millie – he looks ridiculous and was he really THAT oblivious to rant about the cleaners shrinking his shirts?! He isn’t blind!

I was so glad that Haley stood up for Dan and told him that he didn’t have to constantly be torn down for his past mistake. The discrimination from the customers highlights another realistic social problem – discrimination against convicted felons after they have served their time in jail. If individuals “pay their debt” to society or are rehabilitated in jail, then they should be given opportunities to work and live freely… otherwise, keep them in prison indefinitely and admit the system doesn’t work.

  45. Comment by Amanda713 in January 27, 2012 @ 12:25 pm

people need to get their panties out of wad. IMO…

Clay/Quinn-more believable with the acting..I think Quinn has gotten a lot better. Still not completely liking the storyline with them.

Julian: I think Julian was awesome in this episode! He was funny, creative, loving, …and doing good right up until he forgot about his kid. But overall, I love julian and I think the way they have been developing his character is great..not all guys are hardcore weightlifter football players…some like musicals and art..and thats okay.

Brooke–I want an outfit like that when I play golf!! :) yes, I agree..that daughter/father conflict should be done with by now…I mean back when Petyon found her father…that story line bored me to tears..and least brooke’s dad is super hot! :)

I dont think this is the last time we will see Victoria—if you check back on her twitter feed..there was a picture later in filming of her getting ready with the make up artist..so i think we have more of her..khopefully

Loved the Haley scenes. Love Dan scenes.

Miss Lauren is pregnant but the daddy is a big SHOCKER. like seriously. what the crap?!

I give it a 7 overall. My mom dropped at the end of the show..can’t wait to see what happens. Oh, and LOVE CHRIS KELLAR! :)

I think season nine has been great so far! Paul’s episode was great directing. Loved the Dan/Haley scenes and Haley rocked telling that customer off and defending Dan. Dan and Jamie are just precious, Chris, Chase and Chuck are hilarious! The ending scene with Julian was so intense. The drama is here!!!

@Amanda, I noticed that Paul Johansson’s birthday was January 26th if you want to put up a belated post.

Also I want to point out that since she joined the cast, Shantel/Quinn, her acting has stepped up so much! She was great in this past episode.
