Aussie actor Mitch Ryan has booked a recurring role on CW’s veteran soap “One Tree Hill.”On the drama’s seventh season, Ryan will play Alexander, a handsome pro surfer-turned-young mogul.

Ryan will next be seen in the Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg miniseries for HBO “The Pacific.”He is repped by APA.

With a hand in both the entertainment industry and the non-profit sector (through her charity Take Action Hollywood), Maria Menounos is arguably one of the busiest and most successful guest-stars ever to be on a teen drama. Both before and after her recurring role on One Tree Hill as Jules, Menounos has been one of television’s most recognizable personalities.

TeenDramaWhore: One Tree Hill was your first recurring role on a television series. What made you want to stray from hosting?

Maria Menounos: I’m the type of person who enjoys wearing a lot of different hats – acting is another hat I enjoy wearing. At Emerson College, I studied both broadcast journalism and film.

TDW: What aspects of hosting prepared you for acting?

Menounos: There are so many aspects. The technical aspects of production – going through hair and make up, having call times, dealing with crew, etc. Also, in my case, it helped me learn more about directing but, more importantly, how to be comfortable on camera.

TDW: What attracted you to the role of Jules?

Menounos: I was really excited to work with the show creator, Mark Schwahn, who said he had an amazing role for me. I knew any role he would create would be a great one.

TDW: Were you familiar with the show before you joined?

Menounos: I had seen a few episodes but definitely enjoyed what I had seen.

A teen model with Orangeburg ties is scheduled to appear on an all-new episode of The CW network’s “One Tree Hill” at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5.

Courtney Tabor, granddaughter of James and Rebecca Abraham of Orangeburg and Herbert and Marlene Tabor of Detroit, has appeared in numerous fashion advertising campaigns, including those for Belk, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s and more. The 19-year-old has been a model for American fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi and actress Kristin Davis’ collection, which is sold at Belk. Tabor was also featured in a six-page fashion layout for the January/February 2009 publication of Charlotte Living magazine.

Rebecca Abraham said her granddaughter is represented by Directions USA Model Agency in Greensboro, N.C., and was a competition dancer with BB Dance Productions in Charlotte for years. Tabor, a sophomore global fashion retailing and marketing major at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, has also been a Charlotte Hornets cheerleader.

Mike of Wakey!Wakey! was invited to play a small part as a bartender on CW’s One Tree Hill, the show that also featured ‘War Sweater’ and Casey Shea’s ‘Roll Your Windows Down’. Colin was kind enough to provide an inside look at the making of “With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept,” the 16th episode of One Tree Hill’s third season.

TeenDramaWhore: Years before you started on One Tree Hill, you appeared on two episodes of Dawson’s Creek (Episode 2.3, Alternative Lifestyles and Episode 2.9, The Election). How did that come about?

Colin Fickes: First off, thank you for taking the time to interview me! I grew up in Raleigh, NC doing community theater and I’d audition for projects that came through NC. I had a wonderful agent in Raleigh who would submit young actors in the area for various TV and film projects. They were seeing people in LA and NC for the role of Kenny Reiling, and I was lucky enough to get to audition and subsequently land the part.

TDW: On One Tree Hill, you were introduced in the first few episodes and then were off-canvas until season three in 2006. What was your reaction when you found out a) they were bringing you back and b) what the storyline was?

Fickes: I was completely shocked when I found out that Mark Schwahn wanted to reintroduce the character of Jimmy Edwards. I remember getting called into his office on the Warner Brothers lot, having no clue what the meeting would entail. He pitched me his brilliant idea, and I immediately said yes. I knew that it would be a tough few weeks of preparation and filming, but I was up for the challenge. I enjoy playing interesting character roles, and where he wanted to go with Jimmy Edwards was exactly where I wanted to be.

Ocala’s Saxsen Norton will play a character named Tonya in an early season episode of the CW teen drama “One Tree Hill,” according to her mother and Ocala Models and Talent agency.

“She thought she was going to have a boring summer, but that didn’t happen,” said Saxsen’s mother, Catherine Achtenhagen. She and Saxsen, 14, traveled to Wilmington, N.C., earlier this summer to film the episode.

Achtenhagen said Saxsen’s episode is the second in the show’s upcoming season and likely will air the second week of September.

A student at Belleview High School, Saxsen relies on a wheelchair due to a tractor accident at age 4. Saxsen also plays piano and, in 2007, made news when internationally known composer Martha Mier wrote a piece of music specifically for Saxsen titled “Andalusian Adventure.”

How did you first get starting in acting?

I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and started doing community theatre. My brother and sister were really into sports and I kind of just wasn’t very good at it. So, I started when I was about six or seven, just doing various things around the community theatre in Raleigh, North Carolina. Then, it just kind of evolved from there and I got an agent in Raleigh who’s actually a friend of mine’s mother. In the mid 90’s, there were a lot of projects that were shooting in and around North Carolina. I’d drive to Wilmington, which was about two hours from Raleigh, and just auditioning and things like that and then it just spiraled from there. Then, I moved to New York and got an agent through the referral from the agent in North Carolina and it just kind of went from there.

You were in the right place at the right time…

Yea, kind of, I just really enjoyed it at a young age and was in the right place. North Carolina was a great state, and still is, for T.V. and film, and for theatre as well.

You played the role of Jimmy Edwards on the T.V. series, “One Tree Hill.” During the first three seasons, your character went from being outgoing to being emotionally disturbed. How did you prepare for such a dramatic change in that role?

Well, it’s funny, I had left that role for awhile and so coming back, it was interesting because I had to revisit and kind of see what he initially was like in the first season for those first two episodes. Then just to see how he would have evolved, kind of feeling what it was like, what it would be like to be outcast…to feel alone and sad and feeling like theres no place for him. I think we’ve all kind of felt like that at some point in our lives. So, it was just a lot of tapping into that loneliness and frustration and sadness. It was intense, it was a wild place to go but you just kind of go there and you hope you can leave it behind once you’re done shooting. It was very disturbing but I didn’t see him as a mean guy. I think it was just his circumstances that led him down this path of loneliness. You do see some anger there, especially in the first half of that episode, the school- shooting episode. I don’t know how intentional it was with him trying to hurt anyone…I think he just wanted to be heard. So, I tried to deal with just the sadness with him. I don’t think he was a mean, vicious monster. I think he just wanted to be heard so I just tried to focus on those things, the sadness and loneliness of the character.

The Atlanta native is happy that his ‘One Tree Hill’ character Nino Jones will be returning when show comes back for its seventh season in the fall.

“My character will be back next season but if I can write my own storyline, I would fall in love with one of the main characters or become Nathan’s best friend and make sure I’m on every Monday,” Whittle said. ”One Tree Hill’ is an extreme blessing. I’m completely thankful for the opportunity. It’s great just being apart of a major production and a well-oiled machine.”
