Back in November I had the opportunity to attend a great event called “Rock The Schools”. The event was held to help raise money to support music programs in NY State Public Schools. There were many great artists that performed and I had the opportunity to interview Tyler.

Soooo…. I am late getting this up but Season 9 has started and I for one have really enjoyed seeing Chris Keller back on the TV screen. I have also enjoyed the music. With that I will share the interview below.

With the new album and your return to OTH in January, what else are you most excited about for the new year? 

TH: Not having to work on a record for a little while and just to tour. The fans have been waiting so long.  I keep telling them I’m working on a new record and it never ends up coming out and this year it is coming out! It’s done. The show is going to play the songs on it. So  I am going to spend the year out and saying hey to everybody.

What are you most proud of with the up and coming album? 

TH: I started my own label this year so this is my first record that is coming out on my label.  And I am proud because this has always been a dream of mine. It is really nice to use this album. This is my first time to hire my own my producer. Pay for it all. Be the one in charge of how it sounds. We think every artist is but it’s hard when you have a label paying for it. They have a big say. This is my first time doing whatever I want. So gratifying, felt like I was in high school again, before things got complicated with labels and such.  It was so free. It’s probably my favorite thing I’ve ever done.

What experiences did you take from being back on One Tree Hill a second time?  - Helene P. 

TH: These are some of the few people I have known for 8 years. My favorite personal experience is being able to be there for four months. One of the reasons I took the job was kind of socially. I wanted to hang out with them again. I missed them. I missed the town. It was really nice getting to reconnect with everyone. They are great people. I am such a fan of the people on that show. I love them a lot.

Do you have a favorite Chris Keller scene? -  chris

TH: Yes. I wish I could tell you but all of my favorite Chris Keller scenes are now from this new season. It is the best season ever. I love it. Before this season though probably was when I punched Marty the little person on the riverboat. That was probably my favorite scene. I loved that whole episode and James and I had a blast.

Is there any message you would like to leave for you OTH fans?

TH: I’ll tell them that I don’t know why they like Chris Keller. I can’t figure it out to this day. They like him enough that everybody always talk about it and they brought me back.  Even though he was douche and he kept trying to break up people. Whatever reason people kept wanting to bring me back and if it hadn’t been for that I wouldn’t have come back and I wouldn’t have been able to do it. It was only supposed to be a 2 episode arc, I think and the only reason I kept coming back is because fans who just went crazy, they either hated me or liked me. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t be doing it. It was awesome!
