Season 5 5.01 Spoilers
“Four Years, Six Months, And Two Days”
Written By: Mark Schwahn
Directed By: Greg Prange
Scheduled Air Date: January 8, 2008
SEASON PREMIERE FINDS THE CHARACTERS FOUR YEARS IN THE FUTURE — Four years after the season four finale, Tree Hill is a new place. Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) is a struggling writer who is about to embark on a new coaching career with Skills (Antwon Tanner). Peyton (Hilarie Burton) is at the beginning of a budding music venture, while Brooke’s (Sophia Bush) fashion line is at a crossroads. Meanwhile, Nathan (James Lafferty) and Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) are young parents trying to find their way. Much has changed in four years, but in many ways, the journey is just beginning. Lee Norris also stars. Greg Prange directed the episode written by Mark Schwahn.
General:
-By the way, surprise…there is a newish LP kiss in the premiere. It’s not on the lips and it’s a different angle of a kiss we’ve already seen.
-Peyton’s car was parked at the rivercourt when Lucas walks up so its a safe assumption to make that she drove there.
-The fourth scene was Peyton sitting on the picnic table at the rivercourt remembering back (this is most likely where the break up scene will show up).
-The river court is covered with weeds and and bushes to make it look like no one has been there in a really long time.

There is a flashback to something from the season four finale in this episode.
Haley begins to tidy up Nathan’s empty beer bottles, while Nathan sits silently on the couch. Reaching her breaking point, Haley throws the bottles across the room, finally gaining Nathan’s attention. Haley yells at Nathan about how he’s been sitting around, pouting and drinking, for four months. And she’s finally had enough. Nathan responds with a heartfelt plea for understanding, but manages to anger Haley further when he tells her he is, and has, nothing. Breaking down, Haley tells him that he has a beautiful son, and he has her – but they can’t continue living with him when he’s like this. If he doesn’t sort himself out soon, he really will have nothing. Running from the room in tears, Haley leaves Nathan alone to think about what she said.

Filming Spoilers:
“My friend and I extraed last monday and were in a scene with Haley, Lucas, and Jamie. It was in the tutoring center. The little kid was sitting at a table drawing a picture and Haley and Lucas were whispering about whether Lucas should take him for awhile because Nathan is beginning to be a bad influence on him and he’s incompetent at parenting right now. At first Haley doesn’t agree but after awhile it seems that she’s starting to consider it. Joy looks like she’s going to cry by the end of the scene.”

“Another scene we did was of Haley and Lucas going home when the school day was over. We were walking under that like underpass thing outside of the school that says Whitey Durham Fieldhouse and they were talking about how Lucas had spoken to Brooke that morning on the phone. Chad was smiling. The little kid was walking with them holding Haley’s hand. Once they reached the parking lot it looked like Haley was talking to Jamie and eventually he got into Lucas’s car.”

“I saw filming late at night on the 8th. There was a bus stop with Clothes Over Bro’s poster and a NY poster. The first scene shot was Brooke and new boyfriend coming out of a limo. Then later they filmed the limo dropping the new boy off and him looking mad and then calling a taxi. After that they went to the other side of the building where there was “The Storm” posters. Extras had to line up and yell Brooke’s name and Brooke walked a red carpet then got into a limo. After that it was around one in the morning and they hosed down the street and did a scene of Peyton driving down the road. She was wearing the same dress as I’ve seen her wearing in pictures of Peyton and Lucas on the river court (the green one).”

“The first was Skills, Fergie, and Junk playing basketball while Mouth watched. Then Lucas walks up with Jamie and Skills says, ‘There he is, the game, James!’ and he throws the ball to him. Jamie dribbles and shoots and Skills blocks the shot. Lucas then asks for the ball and it looked like he was telling Skills not to be so hard on Jamie so when Lucas throws the ball in to Jamie he dribbles and shoots again but this time Skills helps him make the shot.”

“The second scene was Lucas on the Rivercourt, and they took different angles of Chad’s face and then zoomed into the court and the basketball goal.”

“The third scene they shot was on the call sheet referred to as “Lucas finds Peyton.” Peyton is on the Rivercourt looking at what looks like the faded names and Lucas walks onto the court when they see each other. They pause and stare at each other. From there they walk slowly (almost looked like slow motion) towards each other and talk. Peyton reaches in for a hug and Lucas stops her. He looks hurt and she looks like she understands why.”
