Scene 1: Tric
(Brooke is standing at the bar.)
Brooke: Alright guys, bring it in. It has been way too long since we’ve all hung out together and this is the first time we’re all drinking together. Legally, that is. So, here’s to hanging with our crew, the old and the new, and to everyone getting what they want.
Haley: I guess one shot won’t kill us huh?
(They all take a shot and make ugly faces.)
Haley: Maybe it will. Brooke, what was that?
Brooke: I wanted something that would remind everyone of me so they mixed their most popular liquor with their sweetest. The bartender did name it a Brooke Davis. Isn’t that right?
Owen: Actually, I think you named it that.
Brooke: Well.
Owen: I call it Tequila and Grinidy.
Haley: It’s disgusting.
(Haley walks away leaving Brooke at the bar.)
Brooke: Ya know, not many people can handle a Brooke Davis.
Owen: Well, it’s definitely one of a kind.
(Owen walks away and Brooke leans against the bar and smiles.)
Scene 2: Tric
(Lindsey and Lucas are talking.)
Lindsey: I don’t know about the old crew, but the new crew is ready to go home.
Lucas: We just got here. I thought you wanted to see The Honorary Title.
Lindsey: I thought I could handle being around Peyton who hates me by the way but I was wrong.
Lucas: Look, Tric’s a big place, avoiding her shouldn’t be too difficult.
Lindsey: Oh, I’ll have no problem avoiding her. It’s you I’m worried about.
Scene 3: Tric
(Nate and Haley are at the bar and Owen brings them drinks.)
Owen: There you go.
Haley: Thank you.
(She looks at Nate as Owen sets water in front of him.)
Haley: Water?
Nathan: I wasn’t planning on drinking until Brooke forced… herself on us. It’s my turn to be responsible for a change.
Haley: You know you’ve really come a long way in the last month and I’m glad to have you back. So is Jamie.
Nathan: Oh really, then why wasn’t I invited to hang out with him and the guys then?
Haley: See Skills has been really strict about this no parent rule and besides, Jamie’s sleepover means that you and I have the house to ourselves for a little um… private after party.
Nathan: My own personal champagne room?
Haley: Yeah. Except, you’re the stripper.
(Q walks up and orders a drink.)
Q: Jack and coke Bro.
(He looks over and sees Haley & Nathan.)
Q: Coach and Teach. What ya’ll doin here man? Huh?
Haley: We should be asking you the same thing.
Q: Me, I’m just taking a study break from Les Mis.
Nathan: Don’t stay out too late; we got an early morning practice.
Q: Awe, all work and no playa? Come on man, ain’t I been on time for every practice?
Nathan: Yeah, you have been good.
Q: What can I say? I learned from the best.
Haley: You can learn a lot more from Nathan than just basketball.
(Haley walks away.)
Scene 4: Tric
(Peyton is on a couch and Mia walks up to her.)
Mia: Hey.
Peyton: Hey.
Mia: Thanks for the invite; I’m usually at home online on Saturday nights.
Peyton: Okay, we’re going to have to work on your rock star image.
Mia: Well this should help. I can’t tell you how much I love The Honorary Title.
Peyton: Oh good, how’d you like to open for them?
Mia: When? Tonight?!
Peyton: Yeah.
(Mia is about to say no but Peyton interrupts her.)
Peyton: It’s one song okay. One song to open up and I didn’t even have to unbutton a button.
Mia: Peyton, you didn’t give me any notice, I’m not ready, I look awful. I don’t even have a band Peyton.
Peyton: Alright, this is why I didn’t tell you, I was scared you were going to run off and disappear on me again, but you look great. You can warm up in my office and the house band will back you.
Mia: I hate you.
(Mia gets up and walks towards the office.)
Scene 5: Tric
(Brooke walks over to Millie who is just arriving.)
Brooke: Hey! Where have you been?
Millie: I was in the store when
Brooke: Ugh.
Millie: Don’t get mad, but I may have let it slip that I was meeting you here.
Brooke: It’s okay. I have more important things to worry about like your big date tonight. Now I think you look great, but we need an impartial opinion. Hey Owen!
(She motions for him to come over to their side of the bar and he does.)
Brooke: Yeah, Yeah, Hi, Hi. How does she look? Hot right? She’s wearing a clothes over bros original.
Owen: You’re the prettiest girl in the room.
Brooke: Did you hear that Millie? You’re the second prettiest girl in the room. I can’t wait to see the look on Mouth’s face when he finds out that he’s on a date with you.
Millie: He doesn’t know that it’s a date?
Brooke: Relax, Owen doesn’t know that we’re on a date either, but that’s not stopping me. Hey Owen! Thanks.
(They walk away and Owen looks confused.)
Scene 6: Tric
(Carrie walks in and sees Nathan and sits beside him at the bar.)
Carrie: Hey you.
Nathan: Hey. You look nice.
Carrie: Awe thanks. I keep thinking it’s going to fall off. Where’s Haley?
Nathan: I think she’s in the ladies room.
(Owen walks up.)
Carrie: Hey, two shots.
Owen: How’s tequila?
Carrie: Good.
Nathan: I’m not drinking tonight.
Carrie: Do you need to use the ladies room too?
Nathan: I’m trying to be good.
Carrie: Oh, I’m not.
(She drinks both shots.)
Scene 7: Tric
(Lucas is at a counter drinking and Peyton walks up to him and puts a check on the counter.)
Lucas: What’s this?
Peyton: Rent. Sorry it’s late.
Lucas: You don’t have to do that.
Peyton: No, I really do.
Lucas: Well, I’m not taking it.
Peyton: Fine, I’ll mail it.
(She picks up the check and leaves. Lindsey walks up.)
Lindsey: What was that about?
Lucas: She had a rent check for me. I didn’t take it.
Lindsey: Why not?
Lucas: I don’t feel right accepting money from Peyton alright; we’ve been friends for too long.
Lindsey: I hate to break it to you, but most guys aren’t friends with their exes.
Lucas: Peyton’s different. Look, I know I said that we could try avoiding her but maybe we should work this thing out. At least say something to her.
Lindsey: Fine. Let’s go.
(They both walk over to Peyton.)
Lindsey: You know when you said you don’t like me? Well I don’t like you either.
(She looks at Lucas.)
Lindsey: There I said something.
(She walks away and Lucas looks at Peyton who then walks away as well.)
Scene 8: Tric
(Mouth is at the bar reading a text from
Brooke: You gonna order a Brooke Davis?
Mouth: Oh if only it were that easy.
Brooke: I brought you a present. It’s over there, wrapped in green, and you should ask very nicely before you try to unwrap it.
Mouth: Brooke, I don’t know I…
Brooke: What? Are you seeing someone?
Mouth: No, I… Well I mean…
Brooke: Darling, that was rhetorical come on.
(She leads Mouth to Millie’s table.)
Brooke: Mouth, Millie. Millie, Mouth. Fall in love, get married, invite me to the wedding and sit me next to a really hot guy.
(She walks away.)
Mouth: Um… We met at the clothes over bros opening right? You’re Brooke’s assistant?
Millie: Yeah, Millicent.
Mouth: Well that’s a great job; I mean I was pretty much her assistant in high school so…
Scene 9: Tric
(Haley walks over to Lindsey and gives her a hug.)
Haley: Hey! You dyed you’re hair it looks awesome.
Lindsey: Hey. Thanks, you and Nathan look great too.
Haley: Oh, thanks.
Lindsey: Isn’t it nice to have him up and walking?
Haley: Yes. I mean I think I was more excited about his first steps than Jamie’s which is terrible. So how are you doing? Are you um… are you still upset about that Peyton thing?
Lindsey: Not as upset as I am that Lucas snuck off to see her the other night.
Haley: He did not. Why?
Lindsey: I haven’t asked. I’m not so sure I wanna know.
Haley: You should ask him. It’s probably nothing.
Lindsey: I know it’s just suddenly everything we do involves Peyton somehow.
Haley: Well that’s not true…
(Peyton walks up.)
Peyton: Hey, I’m sorry. Whenever you get a second, I need to talk to you okay?
Haley: Sure.
(She walks away.)
Haley: Well, maybe it’s a little true.
Scene 10: Tric
(The bar. Owen is pouring some liquor for Q.)
Lucas: Alright! That better not be yours.
Q: Awe, Nah. That ain’t mine. I don’t even drink shots. I… I’m more of a… I’m not old enough.
Lucas: Well then whose is it?
(Nathan walks up.)
Nathan: Oh, that’s mine. Just walked away for a second.
Lucas: Walking away. Sounds like a good idea.
(Q walks away.)
(Owen walks up.)
Owen: Lucas right?
Lucas: Yeah.
Owen: This is for you.
(He puts a glass on the counter and opens a shot mixer, dumping a check into the glass. Lucas and Nathan look at each other and then Lucas sees Peyton across the bar. She gets up and walks away.)
Lucas: Why are women so screwed up?
Nathan: Let me guess, Peyton?
Lucas: How’d you know?
Nathan: Because she sent you a drink with a check in it.
Lucas: Yeah, we’re having a tough time with the whole friend’s thing. How did you two do it so easily?
Nathan: I make everything look easy.
Lucas: Nate…
Nathan: Peyton and I were never in love.
Lucas: Yeah. Well Lindsey’s mad at me too.
Nathan: And yet you seem more upset about Peyton.
Lucas: I’m going to go find Lindsey.
Nathan: Alright.
(Lucas walks away and Carrie walks up to Nathan. He slides the shot in front of her.)
Carrie: Oh, you bought me a drink?
Nathan: Not exactly.
Carrie: What were you and Lucas talking about?
Nathan: Exes.
Carrie: Girlfriends or wives?
(He looks at her and she smiles and takes the shot.)
Scene 11: Tric
(Mouth and Millie are at a table talking.)
Mouth: So then she comes out of the bedroom wearing a cape and she tries to convert me to scientology and then she goes to get me a cape and I am crawling out the window.
Millie: Well, at least you go on dates. Guys are usually only nice to me so they can meet Brooke Davis.
Mouth: Oh really?! You know Brooke Davis?!
Millie: Very funny.
(He gets a text from
Millie: Do you need to answer that?
Mouth: Uh, no. It’s just work.
Scene 12: Tric
(Brooke is at the bar signing autographs.)
Brooke: Thanks.
Owen: Kinda pathetic.
Brooke: What is?
Owen: Paying people to ask for your autograph so that you look famous.
Brooke: Okay, I don’t mean to brag but half the people in this club are wearing my designs.
Owen: Well I don’t mean to brag either, but everyone in this club is drinking one of my drinks.
Bar Girl: Hey Owen, another round.
Owen: Looks like I’m famous too.
(Peyton walks up and sits down.)
Brooke: I bet you we have sex right on this bar.
Peyton: Oh okay… wait til I leave please. I hate to be the one to break this to you but your mom…
Brooke: I know, is a total bitch, I get it.
Peyton: No. I mean, yes, but she’s also… here.
Brooke: What?!
(They both look over to see
Brooke: Oh, Mother…
Scene 13: Tric
(Brooke storms up to
Brooke: Mother!
(She yanks her away from the table.)
Brooke: What the hell are you doing here?!
Brooke: Why? You want them to think you’re a prostitute?
Brooke: I did, because you work for me, not the other way around.
Brooke: You’re embarrassing.
Brooke: Do whatever you want. Not going to affect me.
(
Scene 14: Tric
(Peyton is at the bar and Haley walks up.)
Haley: Hey, there you are. What’d you need?
Peyton: Oh, I just wanted to interrupt you and Lindsey. I told Mia she was opening tonight.
Haley: Great. She excited?
Peyton: Kinda.
Scene 15: Peyton’s Office.
(Mia is playing pool and Haley & Peyton walk in.)
Haley: Mia? Hey, are you okay?
Mia: No, I’m not okay. I’m pretty far from okay right now.
(She shoots the cue and makes a ball in.)
Mia: I’ve never performed in front of a crowd before. I mean, alone. Well, I take that back. I sang in my school play when I was eight and Terri Adams made me cry.
(She shoots again and makes it.)
Mia: Ya know what if I choke? What if everybody laughs at me? What if I’m so bad that I destroy Peyton’s label?
Haley: You realize you just made every shot right? That’s amazing.
Mia: I always play well when I’m not thinking about it.
Haley: Okay, great. Well when you get up on stage, don’t think just play.
Mia: What if I fail?
Haley: Well, people fail sometimes. Look at Peyton.
Peyton: Hey!
Haley: Mia, you’re not going to fail, I promise.
(Mia nods.)
Scene 16: Tric
(Mouth and Millie are standing back to back.)
Millie: Okay, it’s just like rock, paper, scissors only it’s called Ninja, Bear, Hunter…
Mouth: And why do you play this again?
Millie: I don’t get out much.
Mouth: Okay.
Millie: Okay. On the count of three. One, Two, Three.
(The turn around and she pretends to hold a gun and Mouth growls.)
Mouth: Alright. Hunter gets bear alright.
(Mouth looks over and sees
Mouth: Um. Could you excuse me for just a second?
Millie: Sure.
Mouth: Be right back.
(He walks over to
Mouth: What are you doing here?
(He looks over at Millie and back at
Mouth: Listen, Alice, I think um. I think maybe we went a little fast. I like you, and I like my job… just…
Mouth: Thanks
(She smiles and Mouth walks back over to Millie.)
Scene 17: Tric
(Nathan is sitting at the bar and Haley walks up to him.)
Nathan: Hey.
Haley: I’m sorry I haven’t been around. Mia’s performing tonight and she’s really nervous. How’ve you been?
Nathan: I never realized how boring bars could be without alcohol.
Haley: Yeah, tell me about it.
(Brooke plops down.)
Brooke: Tric needs to establish a ‘no mom’ rule.
Haley: I’m a mom.
Brooke: You don’t count. You got married and pregnant before you graduated high school. You’ll be safely locked in a home before you’re thirty five.
Haley: Good talking to you Brooke. I gotta get Mia backstage I’ll see you in a bit.
Nathan: Alright.
Haley: Bye.
(He smiles and turns to talk to Brooke but she left at the same time Haley did.)
Nathan: It was good talking to both of you.
Scene 18: Tric
(Peyton walks out and Lucas walks up to her with a check.)
Lucas: I’m not taking this.
Peyton: Luke, if any other tenant wanted the office you would charge them rent.
Lucas: Yeah, but you’re not just any other tenant.
Peyton: I am now.
Lucas: Wait, just…
Peyton: Look, if you keep talking to me, you’re going to get in trouble.
(She looks over at Lindsey and walks away.)
(Lindsey gives Lucas an evil look and leaves the bar counter.)
Scene 19: Tric
(Brooke is at the bar and Owen walks up to the counter.)
Owen: Something on your mind?
Brooke: No, but my mom is on my last nerve. You got anything for that?
Owen: Yeah, alcohol. So what did your mom do?
Brooke: I’ll give you one guess.
(She looks over at Victoria who’s at the other end of the bar eating a cherry out of her martini.)
Owen: That’s your mom?!
Brooke: No…
Owen: Oh my god, it is. I feel like I’m looking into the future here. It’s a rough road ahead by the way.
Brooke: Okay, we’re not talking anymore.
(She points at her drink.)
Owen: Well, it looks like your future self’s calling. What do you like to drink in twenty years?
Brooke: Poison.
(Owen walks away and Brooke picks up her shot glass but puts it back down.)
Scene 20: Tric.
(Carrie is taking shots by Nathan.)
Nathan: I wonder if Haley knows what kind of girl she hired to watch our son.
Carrie: What kind of girl is that exactly?
Nathan: The kind who drinks like a fish and goes skinny dipping late at night when everyone else is asleep.
Carrie: Oh, my god. I… I didn’t know anyone was around. I am so embarrassed. Haley asked me not to wear a bikini and then I do something even dumber. I am so sorry. I completely understand if you want to fire me.
Nathan: No. No. Look, no one is going to fire you okay? You do a great job. And Jamie loves you. I’m just telling you that you need to be careful, because if Haley caught you, this would be a very different conversation.
Carrie: You didn’t tell her?
Nathan: No. You made a mistake right? It’s not the end of the world. Haley doesn’t need to know everything.
(He gets up and walks away.)
Carrie: No… she doesn’t.
Scene 21: Tric
(Lindsey is drinking and Lucas walks up to her.)
Lucas: Hey. I’ve been looking for you everywhere.
Lindsey: Well, if you keep looking next to Peyton, you’re never going to find me. But I guess sneaking around with her at Tric is your new thing.
Lucas: Okay, what’s going on with you?
Lindsey: Why’d you sneak over here the other night? I saw your car parked outside.
Lucas: So that’s why you’ve been so upset? Why didn’t you tell me sooner?
Lindsey: No Luke. You should have told me.
Lucas: I didn’t sneak here. I wasn’t even planning on coming here. I saw the light on, and I was trying to convince my friend to be nicer to the girl that I love.
Lindsey: Right. See I’m still trying to figure out which is which.
(She gets up and walks away.)
Lucas: Lindsey! Linds!
Scene 22: Tric
(Brooke is at the bar watching
Peyton: I need a new office.
Brooke: Yeah. The one you have now is far too big and free.
Peyton: Well I would settle for small and expensive as long as it’s not Lindsey adjacent.
Brooke: Tell me that I don’t look like her when I dance.
(Peyton looks confused. Brooke points at
Brooke: Tell me I don’t look like her when I dance.
Peyton: Okay. If you tell me that Lindsey’s a bitch.
Brooke: Ugh. My mom’s a bitch, Lindsey’s a bitch, is there a woman here tonight that you haven’t called a bitch?
Peyton: Well I can think of one.
Brooke: Lindsey is just threatened by you.
Peyton: Why?! It’s not like I’m even after Lucas.
Brooke: So you keep saying.
Peyton: What? You don’t believe me? Okay fine. Whatever, but for the record, you look exactly like her when you dance. Bitch!
(She stomps off.)
Brooke: I do not.
Scene 23: Tric
(Mouth is at the bar and Millie walks up.)
Mouth: Okay. So what were we talking about before you left?
Millie: How cute you are.
Mouth: Really? Now I think I would remember that.
(His phone vibrates and he reads a text from
Millie: I’m really glad Brooke set us up.
(He nods. She leans in to kiss him, but he pulls away.)
Mouth: Um…
Millie: I’m so sorry.
(She gets up and leaves.)
Mouth: No…
(Owen leans against the bar.)
Owen: I hate it when hot girls hit on me too.
Scene 24: Peyton’s Office.
Mia: What’s the first line of my song?
Haley: Didn’t you write it?
Mia: That’s so not the point right now.
Peyton: Okay. Relax. You’re going to be great Mia. And honesty, what is the worst thing that could happen?
(She looks over to see Jason walking in.)
Mia: He just walked in.
Scene 25: Tric
(Jason walks up to Carrie at the bar.)
Jason: Can I buy you a drink?
Carrie: Mm… Actually, my date took care of that.
Jason: Well, we’re halfway there then.
(Nathan walks up and sits down.)
Nathan: I hope you’re not trying to sit on my lap.
Jason: I’m just looking for someone to dance with.
Nathan: No thanks.
(Jason rolls his eyes and looks at Carrie.)
Jason: You know where to find me.
(He walks away.)
Carrie: I’ve never seen you’re jealous side before.
Nathan: Well, you still haven’t.
Carrie: Okay.
(She gets up and walks away.)
(Q walks up.)
Q: What up Nate? Yo, thanks for having my back earlier in front of Old man Scott.
Nathan: How stupid are you for trying to drink in the same bar as your coach?
Q: Look who’s talking. You’re flirting with that hot nanny of yours in the same club as your wife.
Nathan: I’m not flirting with anyone.
Q: Yeah okay. Yo, you had my back so I got yours. But I know flirting when I see it and it looks like she does too bro.
(Q walks away and Nathan watches Carrie dancing with Jason.)
Scene 26: Backstage
Peyton: Okay. She’s almost on. How’s she doing?
Haley: I think she’ll be okay as long as the only lyrics to her song are “why is Jason here, why is Jason here.”
Mia: Why is Jason here?
Peyton: Because I invited him.
Mia: I’m sorry. You what?!
Peyton: Look Mia, people dream of the chance to stand up to the person that’s kept them down. This is yours.
Mia: Someone just tell me the first line to my song please.
Haley: It’s “I never feared the unexpected.”
Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen, Mia Catalano.
Peyton: Okay, you’re on.
(Mia walks onstage.)
Haley: Really, you invited Jason?
Peyton: Oh, hell no.
Scene 27: Stage
Mia: Um… Hi.
Jason: You suck get off the stage, Ho.
Nathan: Hey, why don’t you shut the hell up?
Jason: Choke.
(Mia sings her song “no good”.)
Scene 28: Tric
(Lucas walks up to Brooke.)
Lucas: Brooke. Can you do me a favor?
Brooke: Well if it involved drinking and flirting with the hot bartender, then yes I can.
Lucas: Well, you like Peyton and Lindsey right?
Brooke: What kind of favor is this?
Lucas: I was hoping maybe you could talk to them.
Brooke: I’d love to help you Luke, but I honestly don’t see the point. I like Lindsey, but Peyton is my best friend. And does either one of us really believe that she didn’t come back here for you?
Scene 29: Stage
(Mia continues to sing.)
Scene 30: Tric
(Owen brings a drink to
Owen: It’s called a ‘bitter shrew’. It’s from her.
(He looks over at Peyton. She waves and points to Mia.
Scene 31: Stage.
(Mia continues to sing.)
Mia: Thank you so much!
Scene 32: Tric
(Brooke is at the bar and Mouth walks up to her.)
Brooke: Hey.
Mouth: Hey.
Brooke: What happened with you and Millie?
Mouth: I uh… I just don’t think its good timing right now. I’ve been really busy with work lately.
(Brooke feels his forehead.)
Brooke: Are you feeling okay? I hand deliver a hot girl to you and you’re worried about work? My mother would want to adopt you.
Mouth: Look, I’m having enough problems with older ladies running my life.
Brooke: What are you talking about?
Mouth: I uh… I’ve kinda been seeing my boss.
Brooke: Define seeing.
Mouth: Sleeping with.
Brooke: Define sleeping with.
(He gives her a look.)
Brooke: Wow. Well I wish you’d told me before I got Millie all worked up.
Mouth: No, Millicent was great. I really liked her I just…
Brooke: Marvin McFadden. Did I just hear you correctly? What have you become?
Mouth: I know. I know. Things have just gotten complicated lately.
Brooke: So, uncomplicated them. When you find the boy that I used to know. You should have him give Millie a call.
(She writes Millie’s number on a napkin.)
Brooke: You have two choices, you can use the number. Or you can use the napkin.
Mouth: I’m sorry… I can’t.
(He walks away.)
Announcer: Please welcome “The Honorary Title”.
(Everyone cheers and the band starts playing.)
Scene 33: Tric
(Mia walks up to Jason with Peyton and Haley behind her.)
Mia: Thank you Jason. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have been so good.
Jason: You think you were good? The only reason people were clapping is because I told them that you were retarded.
Haley: You’re just upset because the talent left your band. Come on…
Jason: Not as upset as I am that you left your granny panties in my bed.
(She goes to walk away again and he slaps her butt.)
Nathan: Hey!
(He shoves Jason.)
Haley: Nathan! Nathan! He’s not worth it okay?! Let it go!
(She pulls him away.)
Jason: Yeah, it’s not worth it Nathan.
Nathan: You’re lucky.
(Q comes up and punches him.)
Q: You ain’t that Lucky.
(Nathan pulls him away.)
Scene 34: Stage.
(The band continues to play.)
(Security leads Jason out.)
Scene 35: Tric
(
Brooke: You are acting like an idiot.
Brooke: Really? Is that what you think Mom, because I feel like I have finally found it? I am happy here. I have friends who care about me and…
Brooke: Neither do mothers.
Brooke: Mom.
(Brooke walks away.)
Scene 36: The stage.
(The band continues to sing.)
Scene 37: Tric
(Haley storms up to Nathan.)
Haley: When are you going to grow up?! This is your first time back in a bar since your accident and already you’re in another fight. Have you learned nothing?
Nathan: What do you expect me to do? You want me to just sit back and watch while some jerk harasses you?
Haley: That is exactly what I expect you to do because you are not always the guy who has to jump in and do something. And I am not a damsel in distress and if you’re last bar brawl didn’t make it clear enough, you’re not superman…
Nathan: Haley, you’re overreacting okay? I didn’t even hit the guy. I just walked away.
Haley: No, I pulled you away and then Quentin hit him. I guess he’s really learning from the best.
(She walks away.)
Scene 38: The stage.
(The band finishes their song.)
Scene 39: Tric.
(Lindsey walks up to Lucas.)
Lindsey: Hey, I’m exhausted from spending the night avoiding you and Peyton so I think I’ll catch a cab home.
Lucas: Wait. Hey, Hey, Hey. Don’t be ridiculous. Come on, I’ll drive you.
Lindsey: It’s not ridiculous Lucas.
(She grabs a handful of her hair.)
Lindsey: This is.
Lucas: What are you talking about? Your hair looks great.
Lindsey: Of course you’d think so. It’s Peyton blonde. I’m single white female.
Lucas: No, you’re not.
Lindsey: No, I’m not blaming you. I’m blaming me. See ever since Peyton came to Tree Hill I’ve been acting like a crazy bitch. I’m neurotic, insecure, paranoid, jealous and that is not who I am.
Lucas: And I know that.
Lindsey: But it’s who I’ve become. I’m not stupid or blind. I know Peyton’s the reason you’re writing again and I refuse to be a chapter in that book.
(She walks away but Lucas grabs her.)
Lucas: Lindsey. Lindsey! Wait!
Lindsey: No! I’ve been waiting. For you, for the book. I moved here for you remember? So you need to figure out what you want.
Lucas: I want you.
Lindsey: And I want you to stop being in love with Peyton. Looks like we’re both screwed.
(She walks away.)
Scene 40: Tric
(Mouth walks up to
Mouth: Why are you here? You know where I asked if we were dating, you laughed in my face. Then you see me with someone else and send me a mean text.
Mouth: You know it’s fascinating that you have different levels of mean, but I think that I’ll get off at this one.
Mouth: Well I hope you just did because we’re done. This is over.
Mouth: Then I guess I’m fired, but thank you for showing me that there are more important things in life than work.
(He walks away.)
Scene 41: Tric.
(Mouth takes the napkin that Brooke is holding out and she smiles.)
Scene 42: Peyton’s office.
(Lucas storms in.)
Peyton: Oh god. You know what, just rip up the check. I’m moving offices anyway.
Lucas: Let me ask you something. Do you have like an alarm that goes off in your head every time I’m happy with someone else? What do you want from me?! I fly to
Peyton: Because I should have said yes. Luke, I was young and I was scared and I did not realize that by saying that I wasn’t ready it would mean that we would never be together again. Had I known that I would have said yes.
Lucas: Peyton…
Peyton: No, Luke, I miss you everyday and I have told everyone here that I didn’t come back for you, but I did. Of course I did. I still love you Lucas.
Lucas: Peyton… I…
(She kisses him and he pushes her away and looks at her but then pulls her into another kiss.)
(Haley sees and walks away.)
Peyton: You still love me don’t you?
Lucas: I have to go see Lindsey.
Scene 43: Tric
(Peyton walks up to Brooke and sits down.)
Peyton: I came back for Lucas.
Brooke: I know. You’ve had your ‘Lucas stealing’ face on since you picked me up at the airport.
Peyton: What ‘Lucas stealing’ face?
Brooke: The only face you’ve got.
Peyton: Well it doesn’t even matter now, he’s with Lindsey.
Brooke: Honey. Lindsey doesn’t stand a chance, trust me. I have been the Lindsey between Lucas and Peyton and it is not a great place to be.
Peyton: Yeah, well neither is the place I’m at.
Brooke: Are you kidding? You’re Peyton Sawyer. The guy wrote a whole book about how much he loves you.
Peyton: You think he still does?
Brooke: It has always been, Lucas and Peyton. You guys are meant to be together, it’s the way it’s supposed to be. So go and get your man and this time, if he proposes, please say yes. Okay?
(They hug and Peyton goes to leave.)
Peyton: Wait. If I came back for Lucas, then why did you come back?
Brooke: Duh, for Lucas. Game on bitch.
Scene 44: Stage.
(The band sings.)
Scene 45: Haley & Nathan’s house.
Haley: Good night.
Nathan: I think she’s still pissed at me.
Carrie: She’ll come around. I mean what girl wouldn’t want her guy to stand up for her? I know I would.
Nathan: No, I mean, she’s right. I need to watch my temper. All it ever does is get me in trouble.
Carrie: Well, I’d love a guy to come to my rescue. Does that mean I like trouble? I’m a little drunk, so in case I said a lot of inappropriate things tonight… I want you to know, I meant all of them. I think I’ll go for a swim. I knew you were watching the other night. I’m glad you were, but you can see a lot better with the lights on.
(She turns on the lights and walks out the door.)
(Nathan walks over to the lights and flicks them off.)
Scene 45: Stage.
(The band continues to sing.)
Scene 45: Tric.
(Brooke is at the bar and Owen walks over to her.)
Owen: Buy you a drink?
Brooke: I better not. I’m supposed to be an adult now and I don’t want to end up like my future self.
Owen: You’re like what 22 right?
(She nods.)
Owen: So legally this is supposed to be new to you. You’re acting your age. What you’re mother did isn’t.
Brooke: Well she just came here to embarrass me.
Owen: Isn’t that what moms do?
Brooke: I guess. You don’t really think I’ll end up like her do you?
Owen: Drunk at a bar with no friends? Never. You got friends.
Brooke: Right. Okay. So are you going to ask me out now or what?
Owen: Nah. Too young for me, maybe when you grow up.
(He continues to clean up the bar.)
Scene 46: Stage.
(The band sings.)
Scene 47: Haley and Nathan’s bedroom.
(Nathan climbs into bed.)
Nathan: Is this the champagne room? Hales, I’m sorry okay. I tried to be responsible tonight, but that idiot got out of line. I promise I wasn’t going to hit him. Please don’t be mad at me.
Haley: I’m not mad…I’m… I’m disappointed.
Nathan: In me?
Haley: In a lot of things. I guess I should just be happy that you’re not sneaking around with some other girl.
Scene 48: Pool.
(Carrie is swimming naked.)
Scene 49: Nathan and Haley’s bedroom.
(Nathan stares off into space.)
Scene 50: Stage.
(Band continues to sing.)
Scene 51: Lucas house.
(Peyton walks up the porch and knocks. Lindsey opens the door crying.)
Peyton: Lindsey. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…
Lindsey: Lucas asked me to marry him…
(Peyton and Lucas stare at each other.)
Scene 52: Stage.
(The band finishes their song.)
